Chapter 30: What the Hell
Carter My mind felt groggy as if someone had just stuffed a ton of cotton into my brain. I felt as though I had just woken up with the worst hangover that I have ever gotten. Especially considering that I had never gotten a hangover in my life. With some effort, I was able to open my eyes and try to sit up and figure out exactly where I was. Last I remembered I was sitting in the lab with my father and Nathan working on the machine. We had been attempting to get it so that we could reverse what had been done to Elinn. I didn't know where I was or how in the hell I got here but whoever had taken me away from the work I was doing to get closer to my mate. I attempted to get to my feet but for some reason, my body wasn't really responding. I tried to wiggle my fingers but I could barely even feel them and it was throwing me off. What was going on? The door to the room was opened and I was instantly furious at who I saw standing in the doorway. "Nathan, why am I in your guest room and why am I not able to move," I wasn't talking anymore my wolf was not amused. "Carter, you needed to sleep. I mean how long has it been since you had a good night's sleep. You have to admit that everything that has been going on has made your life very hectic. You've been working yourself to death and Dad and I couldn't let it slide anymore." Nathan tried to explain while my wolf and I glared at him. "What did you do to make it so that I can't move!" I growled and Nathan looked away from me. "We knew that you weren't going to do anything to try to keep yourself healthy so we took matters into our own hands. All we did was give you a small sedative to help your body relax" Nathan just kept making me madder. "Nate, undo this right now before I murder you." he laughed a little at my statement and I glared at him curiously. "How are you going to murder me if you can't move?" He queried before he turned around and tried to go back out of the room. "When you get some feeling back your niece would love to see you in the living room if you get a minute." He left me lying there on the bed thinking through all the different ways I could kill him. All I could think about was the fact that I could be working on something to help Elinn get back to the way she was supposed to be but I couldn't even move my foot. I wished that they could understand exactly where I was coming from but they couldn't. I needed them to try to think about all of this from my perspective but they weren't. As soon as I got my ability to move my feet I was headed back to the lab or to visit Elinn
