Chapter 182
Glacier Corp is a publicly listed company with not only high stock prices but also very stable performance.
Two percent of the shares—I can't even imagine what that's worth.
Although Tyler had previously promised me two percent of the Miller Group shares, compared to Glacier Corp, they're not even in the same league.
Jason looked at me with a gentle smile, "Sue, we're going to get married sooner or later. You're my only future wife, and I was always going to give you shares anyway. This is just a bit earlier."
"You can't refuse!"
"Jason..."
I opened my mouth, but when the words reached my throat, I didn't know what to say.
This gift was just too expensive and too surprising.
"If you don't sign, my dad will be upset and think you look down on his shares."
Glacier Corp shares—no matter whose hands they're in, nobody could possibly look down on them, right?
I knew this was just an excuse Jason came up with.
While I was thinking about how to refuse, Jason had already signaled the lawyer to leave.
The lawyer immediately left the office, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
Jason stood up, his tall frame pressing me down on the sofa.
He stared straight at me, "Sue, I'm giving you two choices now. Either sign, or I'll fuck you right here."
The confused emotions in my heart instantly scattered.
I looked at him helplessly, "Jason, have you no shame?"
Jason lowered his eyes, his slender fingers slowly unbuttoning my clothes.
Clearly, he wasn't joking.
His gaze was burning, making my heart panic, "Come to think of it, we haven't fucked in the office yet. Should be pretty exciting."
My whole body tensed, "Jason, don't mess around!"
"Then sign."
"Fine, I'll sign! It's not like I'm the one losing out. Getting all these shares for free—I should be happy!"
Only then did Jason let go of me, satisfied, and carefully buttoned up my clothes.
He smiled and handed me the pen, pointing to a spot on the document, "Sign here."
I wrote my name as instructed, but couldn't help asking, "We're not even married yet and you're giving me shares. Aren't you afraid I'll trick you?"
Jason put the document on the desk and pulled me into his arms.
His voice was certain, "You won't."
I pursed my lips, my tone cool, "Well, don't be too sure about that."
Jason chuckled softly, affectionately pinching my cheek, "I only trust you."
I blinked, "Then when I get a lot of money, I'll use your money to find a lover."
"Could a lover be better than me?"
"Of course."
Jason raised an eyebrow, his eyes darkening inch by inch, carrying a dangerous edge, "You sure about that?"
I instantly tensed up and shut my mouth, not daring to say anything more.
Jason's fingers pinched my chin, ambiguously tracing my lips.
He lowered his head, bit my lower lip, his voice low and husky, "Sue, I really want to fuck you right here..."
I pushed him away and rushed to the office door, shouting, "Lawyer, it's signed!"
Jason kept sighing behind me, as if he hadn't had enough.
I kept my back to him, not looking.
This pervert!
The lawyer walked in without looking sideways and took the documents.
I wanted to leave with him. Being alone with Jason in the same office right now was too dangerous.
Jason was quick to grab me and press me onto his lap.
I was on guard, "What?"
Jason said, "Keep me company while I work."
I glanced at him, a smile curving my lips, "You sure you can focus on work like this?"
Jason reluctantly let go, "Then go wait for me in the lounge."
"No need, I have to pick up Jessica."
"I'll arrange for someone to pick her up."
I tried to refuse, but Jason cut me off, "Be good, listen. If we keep talking, I can't guarantee I'll be able to focus on work."
Alarm bells went off in my head. I quickly got off his lap, ran into the lounge, and slammed the door shut without hesitation!
Pervert!
Can't give him any chances!
This was my first time in Jason's lounge.
His lounge was spacious, with a bed and bathroom.
I lay down on the bed, the soft comfort making me very satisfied.
With nothing to do, I just lay in bed playing on my phone.
Occasionally I could hear people coming into the office to report work, and whenever Jason spoke, I'd unconsciously perk up my ears to listen.
His voice was deep and magnetic, like an elegant cello—just listening was a pleasure.
Chris walked into Tyler's office with a gloomy face.
He was still resentful about Tyler's affair, so his tone wasn't pleasant.
"Mom didn't succeed."
Ever since Tyler and Ember's argument was witnessed by Flora and him last time, exposing Tyler's affair, the atmosphere in the Miller family had changed.
Chris had never imagined that his once-respected father would cheat.
Tyler wasn't surprised by this result.
He shook his head, "Forget it, this is the Cooper family's warning to us. We definitely can't get the project back."
Chris looked at him quietly and added, "I got word that Thomas transferred two percent of Glacier Corp shares to Sue."
Tyler's eyes widened in shock, his voice breaking, "How could he bear to do that?"
Chris sneered, "Who knows what that Sue brainwashed the Cooper family with. I heard the whole Cooper family went to back her up today."
Tyler was silent for a long while.
His tone carried some obscurity, "Sue marrying into the Cooper family is a done deal now."
Chris couldn't quite describe what he was feeling, but he was definitely annoyed.
A woman he used to look down on turned out to be his half-sister, and now she'd even climbed up to the Cooper family.
Tyler was thinking that if he'd known I could handle Jason, he would have brought me home to raise me early on.
Now that the Cooper family knew he'd never taken care of me, he had no way to try to build connections.
But there was still time.
He and I were blood relatives. He believed that given enough time, I would definitely acknowledge him as my father.
Once his relationship with me improved, wouldn't cooperation with the Cooper family be easy to get?
Thinking this, he glanced at Chris, "You can go."
Chris left with a gloomy face.
Jessica was brought to the company by the assistant.
When I saw Jessica arrive, I immediately dropped my phone and quickly walked over to plant a big kiss on Jessica's face.
"My baby! Mommy missed you so much!"
Jessica's fair little face turned rosy.
Jason looked at me quietly.
I ignored him, put Jessica's little backpack on the sofa, then took the cut fruit the assistant brought over and fed it to Jessica's lips.
"Was baby happy at school today?"
Jessica obediently ate it and nodded, "Happy."
My smile brightened, "That's good. Kindergarten is actually pretty nice—there are lots of kids to play with Jessica."
Jessica looked at me seriously and nodded without saying anything.
I found it a bit strange that Jessica didn't seem willing to talk about kindergarten, but didn't think much of it.
Jessica and I ate the entire box of fruit together, taking turns.
Just then, Jason's cool voice came, "Sweet?"
