Yesterday was an interesting day with me deciding on taking two dresses, I still can’t believe it, I’m on my way to the hairdresser to go for a color, cut and blow dry and I’m going to try and play cupid. When I walked into the hair salon Jose walked towards me “Nicol my favorite client how are you my dear?” “Jose so nice to see you, I’m good thank you.” “Come come what are we doing with your hair today.” “Can we just color a bit, cut the little bit off and blow dry.” “Off course my dear and Friday?” “Just a blow-dry for the Gala. Talking about Friday and the Gala, don’t you want to attend?” “Aren’t all the tickets sold out?” “I’m inviting you as my guest.” “Oh, I’m honored.” “Well will you attend?” “Yes, I’m sure I have something I can wear in my cupboard.” He said waving his hand. “Good.”
After my hair appointment I met up with Mia and Kayla at Jason’s place, I took some cake and Jason was so nice in making all of us tea. “So, ladies how are you doing?” When I asked that question Jason said “Excuse me I’m going to go and check in on the baby.” Kayla smiled at him as he walked out of the room. Mia was the first that asked “So Kayla what’s going on with you and Jason?” “His just helping me that’s all.” “Come on Kayla that smile says something different.” Mia said to Kayla. “Yes, fine there is definitely something there but we taking it slow I mean I have a new born.” “It doesn’t seem to bother him.” I told her. “It really doesn’t.” Kayla said smiling. Then Kayla and I turn our attention towards Mia “And you and Luther?” I asked her. “I’m still a married woman.” She said taking a bite of her cake. “Come on Mia I’m sure there is something between you and Luther.” Kayla went on. “Okay fine, he is a very good guy and he is so good with Nicolene.” “Is that all?” Kayla asked. “No.” “No what Mia?” I asked “There is definitely a sexual attraction and tension between us something I haven’t experienced in years. Especially not with my soon to be ex.” “And how does it feel?” Kayla asked excited for her friend. “It’s weird especially because I don’t want to do anything not until my divorce is finalized.” “And how is that going?” I asked her. “It’s almost finalized.” “Oh, wow doesn’t those things take months even years?” Kayla asked “Normally it does but Luther is dragging Anton’s name through the mud and he wants to get rid of me clearly. His not fighting anything and believe me Luther is asking for a lot.” “Well, that is good, isn’t it?” “Yes, but I don’t want the house anymore I actually don’t want anything from him I just want my freedom and I want to keep him away from Nicolene but Luther said that won’t be possible there will however be controlled visitation with a chaperone until his proved himself.” “That’s a good thing.” I said to Mia. “It is something, I really don’t want her alone with him neither does Luther so he will fight for that.” “Good.”
Then both of them turn their attention to me. “How are things going with the soon to be Mrs. Brown?” “Very very good the wedding is on track but I have to get through the Gala first.” “Oh, I’m so excited for the Gala it will be the first time Jason and I actually go on a date and that is exactly how he phrased it ‘Will you be my date for the Gala?’” “That’s wonderful news Kayla I’m so happy for you.” “Well see what happens, I’m excited but I’m also keeping my feet on the ground. I know how a man can hurt you.” “I know you are careful Kayla but Jason won’t hurt you I’m very sure of that.” I told her. “We’ll take it day by day but I’m very excited for the Gala. And you Mia?” “Very excited but it will be the first time except for today I’m leaving Nicolene alone that will be a challenge I mean today is just like 2 hours Friday night it would be for the whole night.” “You need it, Mia.” I told her. “Believe me I’m a mother that never left her child side and I could feel it when Nicolas and I got together, when he took some of the responsibility. My body crashed I was so tired, so my advice to the two of you if the men in your life wants to help or get help let them, believe me your body needs it.” “I hear you Nicol I just feel guilty.” Mia said. “Come on I can’t do the Gala without you girls. You are the reason for this Gala.” “We will be there Nicol.” Kayla said touching my leg.
Jason came walking into the living room with the baby. “Sorry girls I think this one is hungry, he gave the baby so carefully to Kayla.” I got up. “It’s okay I need to leave.” Mia got up to. “I also need to go Nicolene is also probable hungry.” Mia and I said our good byes and left Kayla with Jason. In the lift to the lobby Mia said “Jason and Kayla look good together I’m so happy she found someone. You know she never talked about her family or the father of the baby. It makes me happy that’s she’s not alone anymore.” “Me to. But Mia you not alone either you should remember that it’s very clear Luther likes you and he absolutely adores Nicolene.” “I know it’s just to soon, I don’t know my husband hurt me a lot I don’t know if I’ll be able to trust a man again.” “Luther will work to earn your trust Mia just give him a chance.” As the lift opened, she said “Okay.” I was so happy when I got in the SUV and I saw Mia got in one behind me clearly Luther got her a bodyguard and driver as well. The two girls that crawled so deep into my heart are doing well and that made me happy.
