Since the day Kayla started working here there was an instant spark between us, she tried to keep as far away from me as possible but as time went by, I cracked that wall and now well now we are a combination of friends and something more. I took her to the mall to get some baby stuff and I took her back to the shelter. I felt so bad when I left her there, I went back to my apartment and started to rearrange the place, making space in my spare room or should I say getting rid of everything in the spare bedroom, I went out and bought a bed and linen and even a baby cot, I can’t let Kayla stay there she means why too much to me. The following morning when I went to pick her up for work, we had the discussion that she will move in with me, there was no strings attached if things develop between the two of us great but if she didn’t want there to be anything I will accept it. I just want her and her baby to be safe. We were still talking about all the arrangements when Nicolas came into the office at least the others gave me a heads up and I could make his coffee before he got to his office. The thing that made me and Kayla worry a bit was when he said he wanted to see us in his office. As far as I know there is nothing in the HR rules of dating coworker so we should be okay.

When Jason and Kayla walked into my office you could see the fear on their faces it was almost something to laugh about but I tried to keep a straight face. “Nicolas before you start, I want to tell you that I asked Kayla to move in with me I don’t want her in the baby in that shelter anymore. I also want to say I really like her but we decided to stay together as friends and if things develop then it does then I also wanted to bring under your attention that there is no rule of not dating coworkers in the HR book.” “Why thank you very much for that Jason but your relationship has nothing to do with me as long as you are good to Kayla and her baby I really don’t care.” Kayla said softly “then why call us both in?” “Well because you and Jason are going to work closely together for the next month if your baby doesn’t come earlier.” “Why?” she asked clearly, she didn’t read the papers. “Well, we have the Gala next month and then Nicol and I are getting married next month and we will need all hands-on deck.” “Oh wow.” Kayla said. “I take it everything went well at the Plaza?” Jason asked. “Very well the colors were something we can work with we just changed the center pieces a bit you should hear from Nicol what you can help her with, the 3 of you will need to sit and decide who does what?” “We are waiting for RSVPs for the Gala event other than that everything is organized.” Kayla said “Will that include Nicol’s dress?” “MMMMM no.” “You’ll have to remind her or she will forget, Jason make a few appointments for wedding dress fittings.” “Will do Nicolas. Anything else?” “Yes, expect Karen and Anton today.” “Oh fuck.” “No, I’m actually looking forward to it.”
When Jason and Kayla left my office, I started to work on some e-mails I must have lost track of time because there was a small knock on my door and Nicol popped her head in. “Hi love.” “Sweetheart.” I said as I got up and walked to her. “Oh, I see you got the flowers.” “I did, they made me blush.” “Don’t worry if I could blush, I would have to.” “Any sign of Karen and Anton?” “Not yet. I spoke to Jason and Kayla they are yours and by the way Jason asked Kayla to move in with him.” She pushed me into her office “You lie?” Closing the door behind her. “No, I even got a whole speech about how there is nothing in the HR books about co-workers dating. But they are not dating they are just friends for now, or something between a friendship and relationship not sure.” “That’s called a situationship Nicolas.” “Oh, really and how would you know?” I asked as I pulled her towards me and kissed her. “I heard it from JP.” “Oh, clever answer sweetheart.” “Just the truth.” She kissed me on the cheek and said “I need to go to work.” “Okay I asked Jason to make appointments for you at Bridal boutiques for a wedding dress.” “Thank you, Nicolas you think about everything.” “I try.”

I walked out Nicolas’s office and straight to Jason. “Hi Nicol how can I help?” “I heard you have to make appointments for fittings?” “Yes?” “Can you make that for after school, Nikki would be very upset if I go search for a wedding dress without her.” “I understand and off course I’ll make sure all the appointments are in the afternoon.” “Thank you, Jason.” I was just about to walked away from Jason’s desk when suddenly I felt someone grabbing my ponytail “You bitch!” I hear someone behind me but it wasn’t someone it was Karen. “Leave me alone Karen.” I yelled at her. Nicolas’s came walking out of his office. “Let go of her right now Karen!” Nicolas said raising his voice and he never raises his voice.
