Chapter 257

Nicol

All the way to The Plaza I was praying the people that cancelled their wedding had good taste or should I say decent taste.  I know I wanted to get married as soon as possible and I knew I said I’ll do it in a court room but now that I can have it at the Plaza, I at least want it to look amazing like Nicolas said it is our first and only wedding.  Geoffrey stopped in front of the Plaza and Herman jumped out to open my door.  Nicolas came walking around the SUV touched the small of my back and walked us into The Plaza if I say this was every girls dream, I wasn’t over exaggerating it was all girls dream to get married at the Plaza and here I am standing inside the Plaza waiting to meet the co Ordinator of the weddings that take place here.  “Mr. Brown?”  She asked as she walked up to us.  “Yes, I’m Nicolas and this is my fiancé, Nicol.”  “So nice to meet you like your assistant said my name is Kate and I’ll take you through the things that was already ordered and planned I really hope you guys like it, there is not much room to change things.”  “But there are some room, right?”  I asked Kate.  “Some.”  She said but didn’t look please with my question.

We walked into her office and everywhere there were samples of table decorations and bouquets it smelled like a floweriest inside her office.  There was a file on her desk.  “Okay let’s jump right into it, the bride chose cream and a soft pink as her colors.”  “I like that.”  “Good because everything and I mean everything is cream and a soft pink.”  She opened the file for us, here you have the table setting, this is something you can change if you want to.”  Nicolas looked at the photo and then at me, clearly it was my choice.  It was beautiful everything was cream it was just the serviettes that was a very soft pink. “I like it.”  “Good the center pieces look like this.”  When she turned the page, it looked like a flower fairy shit on the page, it was all sorts of flowers in different shades of cream and pink I didn’t like it at all and I could see on Nicolas face he didn’t like it either.  Without me saying anything he asked Kate “How much will it cost me to change that?”  He waved at the picture “to something more subtle and classy?”  “I can ask the florist to change the arrangement to the flowers you want unfortunately it has to be these flowers but those you don’t want we keep out; you’ll just still have to pay for them.”  “No problem give us other options for the center pieces.”  “Which flowers do you want to keep?”  Kate asked but Nicolas looked at me “I like the orchids, the peonies and the roses and then something green in between.”  “Very great combination, what about something like this?”  She showed as a photo of the most stunning center piece with the orchids hanging towards the table.  “Yes, that one.”  “You don’t want to see other styles?”  “No, I want that.”  “Good, now this is the wedding cake they ordered.”  I was actually closing my eyes I wasn’t sure what to expect, Nicolas looked then said “Nicol it’s not bad.”  “You sure?”  Kate giggled actually giggled and Nicolas chuckled at me.  “Yes look.”  When I looked it was nothing like what I expected I expected maybe some sort of cake explosion but instead it was a nice 3 tier cake in a soft pink icing.  “What kind of cake is it?”  I asked after I got over my shock.  “Orange sponge cake with buttercream frosting.”  “Oh, that sounds nice.”  “It was one of my favorites or should I say is always one of my favorites you just get a hint of orange it’s real refreshing.”  “Thank you, Kate.”  “Do you have a priest and how many guest are we looking at? The previous wedding would have had 200 guests.”  “200?”  I asked in total shock I don’t even think I know 200 people.  “Yes, you want less?”  “No leave it with 200 for now.”  Nicolas said.  I looked at him like are you crazy he just smiled at me

“And no we don’t have someone to officiate the marriage.”  Nicolas told her.  “Okay I’ll put you in touch with the priest the other party would have used.”  “Now can I take you through to the venue and I can tell you what else they planned.”  “There is more?”  I asked Kate “Oh yes there is more.”  God help me I thought as we walked to the venue.  She open the one door, it looked like a small Chapel, this is where the wedding will take place, the bride wanted one side to have cream chairs and the other side should have soft pink chairs.”  “Can we just do cream or white which ever one you have?”  “Okay white it is.  Here they wanted a bigger version of the center piece of the tables.”  “Can you give us other ideas please I don’t want a to big arrangement, big enough but not over powering. If you know what I mean?”  “I do don’t worry.” “When you are done here you will work to this side of the hallway and into the reception area. In the front here they wanted cocktail tables where people can stand around and have drinks and some hors d’oeuvres while the groom and the bride take photos.”  “Okay I like that idea.”

“Then this space here she wanted to have the tables all in two lines opposite each other.”  “For 200 guests?” I asked shocked “Yes.”  I looked at Nicolas “What do you think?”  “I think smaller tables more intimate.”  “My thoughts exactly.”  “You want round or …”  I cut her off “Round tables please.”  “Okay then, are you going to do the Bridal table?”  “Yes please, both our parents are deceased but we will have a bridal party.”  “Well, then I think I have everything, you can still change the menu so I can e-mail that through to you and you can look at the options.”  “And the ideas for the church?”  I reminded her.  “Yes, and that.”  Nicolas took Kate’s hand “Thank you so much you don’t know how much this means to me.  To us.”  He said looking at me.  “It’s my pleasure I’ll sent you that e-mail.”

When we walked out of the Plaza it was past 7 already and I had 5 missed calls from Nikki.  “Oh, I think we are in trouble.”  I showed him my phone.  He took his one out “Apparently we are.”  He had 9 miss calls.
