Chapter 468

Chapter 468

Kelvin turned around as he spoke, "What can't we get out of Domingo's mouth? I'll go check out his place."

He had a point.

Sienna nodded, "Then I'll go check the surveillance footage! You go to his house?"

The two split up.

Sienna stared at the screen, "I really want to see where exactly this Domingo is!"

Sienna had already followed the hotel staff to the surveillance room.

While pulling up the footage, she said, "If our guess is right, then Domingo quit because of Savannah."

"If he quit and went home, how would he explain it to his wife and kids?"

Sienna kept her eyes glued to the surveillance screen, "The office director position isn't exactly low-level, and their company's benefits are pretty decent. Otherwise, there's no way he could support his family while keeping a young mistress on the side."

"Now he's lost his job. What's his excuse?"

At these words, Travis nodded hard, "Right! He can't explain it! And once he mentions quitting, his wife's interrogation will definitely follow."

Sienna agreed, "So he'll definitely find an excuse to hide out somewhere first."

"Here." As she finished speaking, Sienna pointed at the surveillance screen, "This section, please help me copy it."

While the two of them confirmed the location through surveillance footage, on the other side, Kelvin knocked on Domingo's door.

He had already taken out his police badge, but the moment the door opened, Kelvin put his hand behind his back and bent down slightly.

The one who opened the door was a little girl who looked about five or six years old. You could tell her mother took very good care of her—the little girl had her hair in a round bun with a red polka-dot bow on top.

The little girl stretched out her chubby little arms to open the door, looking at Kelvin with some curiosity.

A woman's voice came from behind, "Sweetie, who's knocking?"

"It's a man!" the girl said in her baby voice. Domingo's wife just happened to reach the door and asked with some confusion, "You are..."

Kelvin's tone was flat, "I'm Domingo's colleague. He's currently..."

The woman paused, her tone somewhat puzzled, "Isn't he on a business trip?"

Business trip?

Kelvin's expression froze for a moment, and he quickly tried to recover, "He's already left then!"

The woman still seemed a bit doubtful, but nodded anyway, "He left a few days ago. Why are you guys..."

Kelvin frowned.

At the same time, Sienna finally tracked down Domingo's current location from various surveillance cameras.

It was a newly opened apartment-style hotel. When Sienna arrived, she learned that Domingo had rented a room here for a full two weeks.

The police knocked on the door. It was opened by a young woman wearing a gentle white dress.

Seeing the police uniform, the girl looked somewhat confused, "You are..."

Sienna held up her police badge, "Where's Domingo?"

The girl slowly turned her gaze to see Domingo wearing a bathrobe, walking unsteadily out of the bedroom, "Who is it? I said I don't need room service..."

Domingo's eyes met Sienna's cold stare directly, "Domingo, we currently suspect you're connected to a murder case. We hope you'll cooperate with the police investigation."

Domingo's face changed.

You could tell Domingo was trying hard to maintain his facial expression, but the pressure from a group of police officers was just too strong, not to mention Sienna's cold eyes.

You have to remember that Sienna was a forensic doctor who had seen plenty of dead bodies. The pressure she brought—how could an ordinary person handle that?

Domingo's voice was somewhat halting, "What, what murder case! Can't you police investigate clearly before..."

Before he could finish, Sienna had already held up a photo.

The girl in the photo was Savannah. Though the girl was already dead, in the photo she was still in the prime of her life.

The girl wore a white dress standing under a tree, smiling sweetly at the camera.

The girl standing at the door froze.

Sienna turned around, her tone cold, "Domingo, your taste in mistresses is really consistent. The two girls, whether in looks or temperament, seem pretty much the same."

Domingo couldn't refute this at all. The fact that they could produce Savannah's photo meant the police already had enough evidence.

Domingo stiffly pulled his mouth into a smile as two officers pressed him downstairs.

Sienna hung back half a step, looking at the girl standing outside the door with a stunned expression, "Did you know that Domingo has a wife and child?"

The girl stared wide-eyed in shock, "He said he was single!"

This girl looked quite young, her expression full of shock and amazement at being deceived, "We met at university. He said he was a freelance writer, here traveling for inspiration..."

At this point, the girl seemed to understand something herself, and said in a trembling voice, "Tell me, where exactly is his home?"

Sienna had no intention of letting this girl stay in a daze. She turned her gaze and raised her chin toward the south.

"Go in that direction, take the bus five stops and that's his home. This man has a wife and a daughter who's only six years old, just started first grade."

At these words, the girl bit down hard on her teeth, "That scumbag dared to lie to me!"

Sienna paused, couldn't help but look the girl up and down.

The girl was still in that white dress, looking gentle and charming.

But from her clenched fists and gritted teeth expression, Sienna couldn't associate the word "gentle" with her at all.

Seeming to notice the surprise in Sienna's eyes, the girl smiled dismissively, "This is just my personality, so recently that Domingo seemed pretty dissatisfied with me too."

This girl clearly didn't care much about Domingo's existence, "He and I were just in a consensual relationship. What he probably likes is this kind of..."

The girl seemed unsure how to describe it, so she roughly gestured at herself.

Sienna completely agreed with this girl's assessment, because whether it was the deceased Savannah or what Domingo's wife looked like when she was young, they were almost cut from the same gentle, pleasant mold.

The girl waved her hand, "I'm a rational adult. Now that you've arrested Domingo, I'm not going to stupidly kill myself."

After saying this, the girl lowered her voice, "Can I press charges against him?"

Sienna felt relieved.

Compared to Savannah who had committed suicide and left this world, this girl's behavior was currently the direction most girls would choose.

At first I thought you were dating me, but somehow I "became a mistress." Well then, don't blame me for sending you straight to jail!
