Chapter 452
Chapter 452
Emma completely agreed, "This family doesn't really have any requirements. Even if they didn't want kids, we wouldn't say anything. But Kelvin told me that Sienna wants to have a child to play with."
Simon couldn't help but laugh. Sienna really liked Kelvin and often talked about how cute he was as a child, and how now that he'd grown up, he wasn't as fun as before. Having a baby to play with was definitely something she would think of.
"Then let's get married," Simon decided, "I'll call him later."
Simon acted quickly. After Isadora and the others left, he called Sienna and said right away, "I'm ready to give in and let you get married."
Sienna paused on the other end and sniffled, "Are you tired of me?"
Simon laughed, "It's just a wedding ceremony to make things official. Everything else will stay the same. You'll still be with Chris and me. It's not like we're making you move out after getting married. It's just a formality, but Chris, your mom, and I all want you to have this formality. You understand?"
Sienna responded glumly, "I'm a little scared."
"Scared of what?"
"Scared that once we get married, everything will change."
Simon comforted her gently, "Nothing will change. Kelvin will still be Kelvin, Chris will still be Chris, the elders will still be the same elders. Haven't we been living like this for the past two years? No one will make you change because of marriage."
Sienna was silent for a long time, then suddenly asked, "Once I'm married, I can have a baby, right?"
Simon couldn't help but laugh, "Yes, then you can have a baby."
"But then I'll have to take care of the child."
"Chris and I will take care of it. Once your body recovers, you can go fight crime."
"But Chris will get married too, and you'll get married eventually."
Sienna started getting emotional again, "Once we all have our own families, even if things are good now, we'll slowly drift apart."
Simon received a message from Kelvin on his phone: [She might have some pre-wedding jitters.]
Simon messaged him back while reassuring Sienna, "We won't."
"We definitely will," Sienna said, "I can't cling to you guys forever. Besides, you're both so great, how could no one want you? Don't say things that make me unhappy."
"Okay, okay."
Simon went along with her, thinking of Chris sitting on his little stool. He really didn't think Chris had any interest in dating.
As for himself, his physical condition really left him with no desire to burden someone else. Besides, as Chris put it, people like them had spent too long in dark places, so they loved standing in the sunlight. The beautiful country, the scenery for miles, good food and fun things—enough for them to live freely for a lifetime.
"Minor illness, get treatment. Major illness, just die. The world is too fun—I don't want to date."
Chris had said this to Simon very seriously.
"Alright," Simon told Sienna, "Talk it over with Thea, don't overthink it. That would make me unhappy too."
Sienna responded pitifully, then asked, "Where's Chris? Why didn't he come say hi to me? Doesn't he miss me?"
Simon sighed, "You two are really something. I kicked him out."
Sienna asked, "Why?"
"After you left, he grilled lamb skewers every day. The whole house smelled like mutton. I'm airing it out first, don't want to ruin my flowers."
Sienna laughed on the other end, and Simon laughed with her.
After laughing, he said, "All the flowers at home have bloomed. Come back soon, and I'll send you off to marry through a sea of flowers."
Simon wanted Sienna to walk down a path blooming with endless summer hydrangeas, wanted roses and peonies to surround his little sunshine, and under the gaze of birds of paradise, give her the best blessing.
He wanted her to know that in this life, there will always be people who will protect you without hesitation.
Someone worries about your wedding, someone worries about your grievances, someone plants a whole garden of flowers for you, wanting to see you marry through a sea of flowers.
The wedding day was very lively, with many people attending.
And the first one to cry was actually Chris.
This burly man cried like a child at the wedding.
Simon couldn't stand it anymore and patted his shoulder to comfort him, "It's not like Sienna won't come back. Why are you crying like this?"
"No one to fight alongside me anymore."
Simon was so annoyed he kicked him.
On the wedding night, Russell was playing games with Rhett and Raven when Sienna and Kelvin kicked them out.
Sienna collapsed on the bed, "Never getting married again. This is more exhausting than working a case."
Kelvin pressed her down, eyes half-closed, "Is Dr. Taylor planning a second wedding?"
After Finnian was caught, she had grown her hair long. His fingers played with the ends of her hair, voice lowered, "Sienna, still have energy? Tonight is our wedding night."
Sienna raised her hand to hook around his neck, raising an eyebrow with a smile, "Whoever runs out of energy is a puppy."
In the first year of marriage, Sienna had twins.
Two daughters. As agreed, she would serve the country while Simon and Chris took care of the kids, so Sienna carelessly left both children to them.
Just as Chris had said, she had two little kids.
Simon doted on them every day, afraid they'd get hurt. Sienna worried he'd spoil them rotten.
The older sister took Sienna's surname and was called Margaret Taylor, meaning beautiful as a pearl.
The younger sister took Kelvin's surname and was called Amy Brown, meaning Kelvin's eternal love for Sienna.
Both families had agreed to the children having different surnames.
But Margaret looked more like Kelvin—calm and composed from a young age, not troublesome, just occasionally mischievous. She could run circles around Chris and was good at sweet-talking, leaving Chris helpless.
Amy was more like Sienna—naughty from childhood and prone to tears. If crying could solve something, she definitely wouldn't talk.
The house became much livelier because of them, and gave Simon's life hope.
Three-year-old Amy could already climb trees. She stood on a branch, looking down at the anxious Simon below, laughing.
Simon put his hands on his hips, "If you don't come down, I'm going to get angry."
"Then come up here."
Simon's vision went dark and he fainted.
Amy froze, quickly climbed down, and pushed Simon with both hands, "What's wrong? This game isn't fun."
Simon didn't wake up. She was terrified, crying loudly, and hurriedly called the family.
Everyone went to the hospital.
Amy kept crying, clearly frightened.
Actually, in the past year, because the company had run into problems, Simon had been working too hard, which made his already poor health even worse.
Once he collapsed, he lay in the hospital for a week. During that week, Amy couldn't have been more well-behaved.
