After Eve was done with her amazing illusion, the woman fell asleep for a while due to exhaustion. Arthur did not waste the opportunity. While Eve was still unconscious, he immediately stripped off his clothes and climbed onto the bed, right next to Eve. He also pretended to close his eyes, as if he was as tired as Eve.
A few moments later, Eve's eyes blinked. Her hands immediately groped to the side like she was looking for something. When she found Arthur lying next to her with his eyes closed, she smiled. Eve immediately moved her body closer to Arthur, then hugged him happily. Arthur himself could only hold his breath as he felt uncomfortable.
"You've always been amazing, Artha," Eve whispered in Arthur's ear. Of course, he didn't realize that what she was calling extraordinary was just a system arrangement.
Arthur opened his eyes, as if he had just woken up. He immediately smiled at Eve.
"You're amazing too. That's why I always miss you," Arthur said, deliberately trying to make Eve's feelings soar.
As Arthur expected, Eve looked very happy to hear the compliment. However, a moment later Eve's smile faded. The woman let out a long, heavy sigh, as if something was on her mind at the moment.
"Why, what are you thinking about?" asked Arthur when he saw the change in Eve's face.
"We just did something fun, but I have to go back in a minute," Eve half-snarled.
"You have to go back? Can't we stay here tonight?" Arthur asked again as if he really wanted to spend more time with Eve. In fact, he was afraid that Eve would have to leave before he could say what Eve had to do to make his plan work.
"I really want to, but I have to go back if I don't want Dave to suspect me," Eve said.
"Didn't you say that he had business tonight? He wouldn't be looking for you, would he?" Arthur asked again.
"He was on business, but he could have suddenly shown up to see me. I told you, he's becoming more and more insane lately." Eve replied as she exhaled harshly.
Arthur observed the look on Eve's face for a moment. The woman was not acting right now. Her face really looked very depressed. It seemed like she couldn't stand being by Dave's side anymore.
"Take it easy, Eve. You'll be free from your fiancé's clutches soon enough." Arthur comforted Eve as he gently rubbed her shoulder.
"But when exactly will that become a reality? I'm afraid I'll go crazy before we can make him fall," Eve said pessimistically.
"It won't be long now, believe me." Arthur assured as he smiled faintly at Eve.
Eve could only stay silent as Arthur looked deeply into her eyes. The woman gasped for a moment. She became more and more hypnotized by the unusual charm of Arthur Wang, the man she had betrayed so cruelly. Eve did not realize that she was taking one step at a time towards the abyss that Arthur had provided.
"Really? Are you really going to take me away from Dave's side soon?" Eve asked then, softly and expectantly.
"Of course, Eve," Arthur said, caressing her face gently. "But for that, I need your help again."
"What favor?" asked Eve.
Arthur didn't answer right away. He got out of bed and put on his lower clothes. After that, he reached for the bag he had been carrying, and took something out of it.
"What's this?" asked Eve cluelessly as Arthur handed her a file.
"Next week Great Food Company will decide on the construction company that will be responsible for building their new factory. Influence Dave to choose this company as the winning bidder," Arthur said as he showed her the name of the construction company in the file. And it was not Arthur Wang's company.
"Didn't you want your company to get the project?" asked Eve, not understanding.
"Yes, I did at first, but not anymore. I have other plans," Arthur said.
"Does this have anything to do with your plan to bring Dave down?" asked Eve again.
Arthur nodded.
"Right, we have to make sure Dave uses this company if we want our plan to succeed."
Eve paused for a moment, seemingly digesting Arthur's explanation.
"But I've already influenced Dave to choose your company. He seems to agree," Eve murmured later.
"You just give the file to Dave. It has a lot of positive information about the company. You can also just correct what you said about my company the other day. That way, you can also avoid Dave's suspicions about our relationship." Arthur explained.
Eve thought for a moment, before nodding her head.
"Yes, that's right. If I suggest another company that wins the tender, then he won't think that we have a relationship," Eve muttered later.
Arthur smiled briefly. After a moment, his face turned serious again.
"But you can really influence Dave Greens, right? If he chooses another construction company, our plans could be ruined," Arthur said again.
"Take it easy. Right now, my words are still the voice he listens to the most. Even more than his own mother's opinion." Eve replied with some pride.
"Then what about the other bigwigs? Can you handle it?" Arthur asked again.
"There's no need to worry. Dave is the kind of person who takes his subordinates for granted. He won't listen to what they say. If he is convinced of my words, then he will do as I say, no matter if many people oppose." Eve replied again.
"It's good if it's like that," Arthur responded.
Of course Arthur was well aware of Dave's arrogant nature. He just didn't expect that his half-brother would still not be a little wiser when he had become the leader of a company as big as the Great Food Company. If it was like that, even without Arthur going on a revenge mission, Dave would still destroy Great Food Company, sooner or later.
"Actually, the company's condition is very chaotic right now," Eve murmured later, interrupting Arthur's thoughts.
"The company is in turmoil? What kind of turmoil does that mean?" asked Arthur. He became a little curious about the fate of the company in Dave's hands.
"There are many company officials who have resigned or even been fired by Dave," Eve said.
"Really? Hasn't Dave Greens been in office not too long? Why would he be so careless as to fire employees randomly like that?" Arthur asked provokingly.
"He's the kind of person who doesn't like to be given advice by people in a lower position, let alone criticized. When he first took over the company, there was a lot of criticism directed at him. The people who criticized were the ones he fired or asked to resign by force," Eve explained.
Arthur was stunned for a moment by Eve's explanation, before chuckling and shaking his head. A spoiled brat like Dave who could only ask his mother for whatever he wanted without working hard, how could he be so ambitious to own and lead a big company. Of course, the end result of his ambition was destruction.
"Hearing the story about Dave Greens from you, it seems like he's just a lousy man who doesn't know himself. Then how come a woman as great as you ended up being his fiancée, Eve?" Arthur then asked Eve while looking at her intently.
Eve gasped slightly. The question Arthur asked her just now contained a compliment to her, but also questioned her character at the same time. On what basis would she be engaged to a man like Dave Greens if not for money.
"Did he set you up?" Arthur asked again when he saw the expression on Eve's face that looked very uncomfortable. He deliberately diverted it so that it sounded like Eve was the victim here.
"I don't know what to tell you, but what you said earlier is true. He set me up," Eve said as she lowered her face.
Arthur almost laughed at Eve's expression. Somehow, now he could clearly see when she was acting, like right now.
"I already thought that you must have been framed by that man. Otherwise, how could you become his fiancee." Arthur replied as if he believed what Eve said.
"That's why I really want you to take me away immediately, Artha. I can't stand being by that insane man's side anymore." Eve acted even more pathetic.
"Don't worry, Eve. You will soon be free of that man. As long as you do what I said well, we will soon become a real couple without the shadow of that man anymore." Arthur hugged Eve, then smiled wryly.
