Chapter 197: Samuel, Why Have You Come?
Won't let her get what she wants?
What does she mean by that?
Nora stared intently into Emily's eyes, her heart skipping a beat.
"Miss Johnson, are you trying to break the deal? Are you crazy? Reginald is still in my friend's hands. If anything happens to me, my friend won't hesitate to kill Reginald, and then contact Samuel."
"You know what Samuel is capable of. If he finds out you've teamed up with Sebastian and done something against me, he won't let you or your parents off."
Yes, she knew that if Samuel found out she'd allied with Sebastian, he might kill her himself.
But... there were some things she had to do!
Because that was her only way out.
Emily's eyes flickered. Without directly responding to Nora's threat, she just said coolly:
"Ms. Brooks, you seem to have no clear understanding of your friend's abilities! Don't tell me you still haven't figured it out? She can't protect Reginald at all."
Vivian can't protect Reginald?
How is that possible?
Nora frowned, instinctively wanting to take out her phone to check what Vivian was doing.
But after putting her hand in her jacket pocket, she remembered that before entering the neighborhood Emily had specified, she'd already thrown away her phone.
"Were you trying to call Vivian?"
Emily noticed Nora's small movement. She raised her eyebrows and suddenly showed a nasty smile.
"Looks like you still haven't given up? Fine, then I'll make you completely despair."
Saying this, Emily took out her own phone and casually tossed it into Nora's lap.
"You should be able to recite Vivian's phone number, right? Go ahead and contact her. I guarantee she won't answer your call."
No, that's impossible!
Vivian has bodyguards protecting her. Nothing will happen to her.
Nora's eyelashes trembled violently. After a long moment, she suppressed the unease in her heart, picked up Emily's phone, and in front of Emily, called Vivian.
"Ring ring ring..."
The phone rang for a long time, but no one answered.
Something's happened!
Something really happened to Vivian!
She failed to save her grandfather and Mia, and now she's harmed Vivian too!
Nora clenched her fists, her eyes turning red.
"Emily, what did you and Sebastian do to Vivian?"
"Take a guess."
Emily slowly stood up, walked to Nora's side, grabbed her chin, and forced her to make eye contact.
"Nora, I'm going to kill you and everyone you care about! I'm telling you, you forced me to do this! Why did you have to reappear in front of Samuel? Don't you know that if you hadn't shown up, Samuel and I would be married by now?"
She knew she shouldn't have returned to Samuel's side, but things had developed to this point beyond her control.
Nora bit her lower lip, suddenly grabbed Emily's wrist, and taking advantage of her inattention, pressed her down on the sofa.
"Nora, you bitch, let go of me!"
Emily hadn't expected that Nora, in such a weak position, would dare to attack her first.
Her expression twisted as she struggled hard, trying to push Nora away.
Unfortunately, in front of the enraged Nora, her struggles were pathetically weak.
"Enough, stay still!"
Nora sat on Emily's stomach, one hand around her throat, the other hand slapping her hard several times.
"Talk! What did you and Sebastian do to Vivian? And where are Nicholas and Mia now?"
"Ah! You crazy woman, how dare you hit me? I'm going to kill you!"
Emily screamed frantically, with no intention of cooperating with Nora.
"Shut up! If you provoke me again, I'll kill you right now!"
Veins bulged at Nora's temples as she slapped her several more times.
"You..."
Emily was frightened by her fierce appearance and instinctively closed her mouth, showing a fearful expression.
"Nora, don't get cocky. Even if you kill me, you still can't save your grandfather and your daughter! Oh, and your friend too! If nothing unexpected happened, Vivian is already dead by now."
Vivian is dead?
She and Sebastian actually dared to kill her friend?
Emily's words hammered at Nora's soul like heavy blows.
"Bang!"
After a loud crash, Nora's rationality instantly collapsed.
"Why? I already rescued Reginald according to your and Sebastian's demands. Why won't you still let go of my friend, my grandfather, and my daughter?"
Her pupils dilated as her hands pressed tightly over Emily's mouth and nose.
"Since something happened to Vivian, then you shouldn't live either! Die, everyone should just die."
"Mmph... let go..."
Emily's face showed terror as she tried to push her away.
But Nora's strength was frighteningly strong. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't break free from Nora's grip.
"Damn it, bitch, let go of Miss Johnson!"
Seeing this scene, the bodyguards hiding in the shadows panicked. They quickly dragged Nicholas and Mia out from a room nearby and shouted angrily at Nora.
"Nora, if anything happens to Miss Johnson, we'll kill Nicholas and Mia! Your friend must be dead by now. You don't want to lose them too, do you?"
Nicholas? Mia?
Hearing these two names, Nora's body stiffened for a moment. She instinctively looked up toward the front.
At that moment, four or five steps away from her, stood several very tall middle-aged men. Nicholas and Mia were lying at those men's feet.
Their faces were completely pale, as if they had suffered a lot of torture.
"Nicholas, Mia..."
Nora's eyes reddened. She instinctively released Emily, wanting to check on Nicholas and Mia's condition.
"Nora, go to hell!"
Seeing her attention was no longer on her, Emily roared and used all her strength to push Nora to the ground, then grabbed a fruit knife from the table and stabbed it toward Nora's neck.
"Bang!"
Just as the fruit knife was about to slice Nora's throat, the apartment door was suddenly burst open.
Immediately after, a bullet cut through the air and hit Emily's shoulder.
"Ah!"
Emily clutched her wound and instinctively looked toward the person who fired the shot.
"Samuel, how is it you?"
After seeing who it was, she gasped, the color rapidly draining from her face.
"I changed the meeting place with Nora at the last minute and made Nora throw away her phone and car far away. How did you find this place?"
"Damn it, stay away from me, don't come closer!"
