Chapter 98: Troubles in Dragon Kingdom

POV Queen Portia

In the realm of the Dragon Kingdom, numerous courts thrived under the watchful eyes of our Father, the Dragon King. As his five wives and other concubines each lived in a different court, the complexities of our royal family unfolded. My stepmother, Queen Esmerelda, once ruled Court One. She bore the King two children, Prince Edward and Princess Marteka. My brother Titan and I were born to concubines. Queen Sheba ruled Court Two, and she gave birth to Edwind. Her lady-in-waiting, who became a concubine, gave birth to Atillus. Queen Cushia Ruled Court Three and gave birth to Prince Andy, While Queen Thresia ruled Court Four; she gave birth to twins Prince Marcus and Prince Malcolm, and a concubine of this court gave birth to Martin. Queen Mercania ruled Court Five and gave birth to Prince Benedict, and the concubine of Court Five gave birth to Bartholomew. Bessy and Briana. These are my father's sons.

When each wife or concubine was pregnant, a dragon egg was birthed. Dragon children took twelve months to be born, and so did the dragon egg to mature. The child could be killed when the dragon egg is destroyed, and the pregnancy will be terminated.

I, Queen Portia, belonged to court one, where wisdom and intellect flourished. So it was, with a heavy heart and determined spirit, I embarked on a mission alongside my youngest brother, Titan. Our task? To uncover the truth behind the poisoning of our eldest brother, the heir to the Dragon Throne.

During our last meeting, enough evidence had surfaced, pointing directly at the third court. It was clear that Prince Andy coveted the throne, desiring power and control over our illustrious Kingdom. He feared our brother's rise to power and sought to eliminate Prince Edward and Prince Edwind through treacherous means.

But mere suspicion wasn't enough to convince our Father. I had to be cunning, resourceful, and, above all, wise. Only by gathering irrefutable evidence could I hope to open Father's eyes to the deceit within our family.

As Titan and I ventured deeper into the heart of the Dragon Kingdom, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. The bonds that once held our family together now seemed fragile, threatening to shatter under the weight of ambition and desire.

We traversed hidden corridors and secret passageways while keeping our mission hidden from prying ears. It was essential to maintain an air of secrecy, for our lives and the future of our Kingdom depended on it.

With each step, I pondered the words of my late mother, the Dragon Queen. "Portia, my daughter, remember that true power lies not in strength alone but in the power to discern truth amidst chaos."

Her words echoed through my mind, fueling my determination. I would not let the Dragon Kingdom succumb to deceit and manipulation. I would protect our family's legacy and honour with every ounce of wisdom I possessed.

Our journey would be challenging, as the path was shrouded in shadow and danger. But the weight of responsibility fueled my resolve, igniting a fire. I knew that the Dragon Princess, as they called me, was destined for more than simply wearing a crown – I was destined to bring light to darkness, to restore order amidst the chaos in our Kingdom.

As we ventured forth, I tightened the grip on my sceptre, a symbol of my authority and strength. Titan and I would unravel the web of deception, exposing those who sought to undermine our family's legacy.

The hunt for truth had just begun. And in this quest, both my wisdom and the Dragon Kingdom itself would be put to the ultimate test.

As I delved deeper into the investigation, I couldn't shake the feeling that something sinister was lurking within the palace walls. My brother Prince Andy, once beloved and a funny little prince, now seemed wicked and devious. How could our flesh and blood betray us in such a manner?

My siblings Martika and Brother were the remnants of my father's first marriage to his one true love, Esmerelda. They were the children of his heart and close to our court. Martika possessed the enchanting beauty of her mother, while Brother inherited our father's sharp wit. Though we came from different backgrounds, we were all united by our shared blood and lineage.

Titan and I were determined to unravel the truth behind our eldest brother's poisoning. We knew that the third court was a likely suspect, but we couldn't be sure. The hidden corridors and secret passageways offered solace as we plotted our next moves.

While Titan collected the food that was sent to my brother, I took on the duty of investigating each ingredient. I meticulously tested their effects individually, searching for signs of a lethal combination. The apple and cherry seeds appeared harmless, but combined, they could become a deadly poison.

With each test, I grew more convinced that our suspicions were correct. Someone within the palace walls had orchestrated this malicious act, using a combination of ingredients undetected by the unsuspecting eyes. But who could be behind such a heinous act?

As the days turned into weeks, I became consumed by my search for answers, unable to rest until justice was served. My heart ached for my poisoned brother, and I was determined to find the culprit and bring them to justice.

But amid my investigation, a nagging thought surfaced in my mind. Could the poisoner not be from the third court? Could someone closer to home have orchestrated this betrayal?

My mind swirled with possibilities as I continued my quest for truth. There were still so many unanswered questions, and I had only scratched the surface of this intricate web of deceit. The dragon princess within me flared with an unyielding determination, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

The game of cat and mouse had just begun, and I would stop at nothing to protect my family's legacy. The path to justice would be treacherous, but I was willing to risk it all for truth and my love for my brother.

Little did I know that this journey would lead me down a path I never could have imagined, where secrets long buried would resurface, and the true nature of those closest to me would be revealed.
