Chapter 97: Troubles in Dragon Kingdom

POV Portia

Who would have thought such a thing would happen? Titan and I exchanged knowing glances as we observed the ladies of the third court and their third sister-in-law, Lisandra, in the secluded corner of the palace garden. We watched their every move for five days straight, searching for any sign of betrayal in their eyes or actions. And finally, our patience paid off.

As I approached, Lisandra and her ladies hastily rose from their seats, their whispered conversations abruptly ceasing. Lisandra's grin appeared forced, her eyes holding a glint of mischief that didn't go unnoticed. I said, “Hi, Lisandra!” She nodded to me and said, "Queen Portia, we were just about to have our supper," Lisandra said, her voice dripping with feigned innocence.

My suspicion grew as the other women quickly dispersed, their laughter fading into the distance. Lisandra's attempt to divert her attention only fueled my determination to uncover the truth. They went to the kitchen first and then ate first. That was a key evidence.

Summoning my brother Andy and gathering my father, ten of my brothers, and their wives, I called for a meeting. My heart pounded with a mix of anxiety and determination as she looked around the room, searching for any sign of guilt or deception.Taking a deep breath, I spoke with unwavering resolve. "I want each of you to say something good about our oldest brother, Edward. Share your fondest memories, respect for him, anything that comes to mind." As each sibling and their spouses spoke, I carefully studied their expressions. Most seemed genuine, speaking words of praise and admiration for our ailing brother. But his cheerful demeanour took on an eerily sinister edge when Andy's turn came. "And what can I say about dear Edward?" Andy began, his voice laced with false cheerfulness. "Ah, yes! Edward always did have a knack for getting what he wanted, no matter the cost."

My heart skipped a beat, and my suspicions were confirmed. Andy's words bore a hidden meaning, a veiled admission of a darker nature. The realisation settled heavily in my chest.

I turned to my father, hoping for guidance amidst the turmoil. Father's brow furrowed as he pondered the situation. "We must investigate further," he declared, his voice unwavering. "We cannot make accusations without substantial evidence." I nodded in agreement, my determination unwavering. "We'll keep a close eye on Andy and Lisandra," I said, my voice tinged with a newfound determination. "We won't rest until we uncover the truth."

As the meeting concluded, I knew that we were entering treacherous territory. The safety and well-being of my family hung in the balance, threatened by hidden schemes and darkness that seemed to creep from within.

I turned to Titan, my loyal brother by my side. Together, we would dig deeper, unravel the web of deceit, and uncover the truth behind our older brother Edward's illness. The search for the culprit had only just begun, and we were prepared to face every obstacle that stood in our way. Our journey into the heart of the palace's secrets had begun, and we were determined to bring justice to our family, no matter the cost. Missing my husband and my desperation to see him sent me to the portal.

A warmth settled within my heart as I walked through the Portal in King Leo's magical garden. The vibrant flowers seemed to glow with joy, mirroring my happiness. I missed Leo tremendously during my time away. As I stepped into his embrace, his arms encircling me, I couldn't help but smile, my worries and troubles melting away instantly. His kiss, gentle yet filled with longing, reassured me that we were meant to be together. Leo couldn't contain his excitement any longer, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. "I have big news for you, my love," he declared, his voice filled with anticipation.

My curiosity was piqued, and I couldn't help but nag him for hints. "Tell me, Leo! I can't wait any longer!" A chuckle escaped his lips as he held my hand, leading me through the garden towards the castle. "We're attending a wedding," he finally revealed a playful glimmer in his eyes. My heart soared at witnessing the joyous union of two souls. "But whose wedding, Leo? You have to tell me!" Leo only grinned, a secret tucked away in his heart. "All will be revealed soon, my love. Just a little longer."

As we entered the castle, my eyes scanned the familiar halls and rooms. Bea's presence had added comfort and joy to our lives. She had graduated with honours, her intelligence shining brightly. The castle had become a sanctuary of peace and happiness, especially when the my husband his twin Beatrice were together. My love for Leo had only deepened with time, and I cherished our bond. Leo's affection for me and his twin had grown immeasurably. As a trio we embarked on numerous adventures, our laughter echoing throughout the land.

One destination held a special place in our hearts - Norway. We often visited Tanner and Leo’s aunt Dowager Queen Cassandra relishing the country's beauty. Whether picnicking in the majestic mountains, gliding across frozen lakes, or sailing in the cold sea, our trips were filled with shared joy and cherished memories.

Portia's wisdom and fair rule had made her a respected Queen in the Dragon and other Kingdoms. Together with Leo, we fostered peace and prosperity, ensuring that our people thrived. Our love radiated throughout the realm, leaving a legacy of compassion and unity. As we walked hand in hand towards our future, our hearts filled with love, the prospect of unknown adventures awaiting us. The mystery of the upcoming wedding only added to our excitement and eagerness to celebrate the union of two souls destined for love. And so, our story continued, bound by love and guided by the wisdom we possessed. With a kingdom to rule and each other's arms to lean on, Portia and Leo welcomed the unknown joys and challenges ahead.

The end was still a distant horizon, but for now,we relished in the magic of our love and the happiness we found within each other.
