Chapter 69: Chapter Sixty-Nine
Olivia
It's been a month of torture after the wedding. I think my babies are ready to come out into the world now. Jason and I temporarily moved to a house near the hospital about a week ago just in case something happens. We don't want to be far so we're avoiding every possible risk.
Everything baby has been bought. The room. To which they will sleep is also ready. Although for the first few months they will be sharing our bedroom with us so that we're close incase they need us.
I woke up today feeling very heavy. I haven't left the bed at all in fact. Jason said he was going to take me to the hospital because the pains have begun. They're not painful though. They come and go, splitting time between them. But they're growing bolder. I know today is the day. I'm having my babies today. After all the hell they put me through, they're finally coming out into the world. I'd feel happy if I was not feeling like I'm being torn in half.
" I've called ahead to the hospital and they're expecting us." He says when he walks into the bedroom.
"Jason I don't give a shit about your phone calls. Baby we need to go, now." I scream at him.
As soon as he lifts me in his arms to carry me out, my water breaks. He looks me in the eye and says "shit" as if I don't know what just happened. It's my body after all. He walks out to the waiting car fast and gets us in.
"Her water just broke. Drive." He tells our driver and he steps on it.
"Jason I swear if these babies come right now, you will never see my vagina anymore. Why the fuck did you put them inside me?" I scream at him as the car goes.
Child labour pains are a bitch. I don't think I can feel my legs or my tummy right now. I swear to God I'm not getting pregnant again. Fucking hell. And the breathing exercises they tell you to do don't even help with anything. It's just you breathing through the fucking pain, nothing else. And Jason is making everything's worse because he keeps talking and talking.
"God please take these pains away. I promise never to open my legs to anyone ever again." I pray. Something I haven't done in a while. But at this very moment, I need it if it's going to help take these pains away.
I'm not stupid though. Because this is all God's fault for punishing us women with labour pain instead of punishing men. Oh God please men deserve this pain more than us so women. It is so not fair.
I feel the car stop and the doors of the car opened. I'm lifted up into a stretcher and it moves. Why is it that when things are moving the pain intensifies? I release a loud painful scream because at this point I don't know what to do. My mind is of all sorts.
Jason is standing at my head holding my hand in his in a room now and there are people standing between my legs. I certainly hope they are doctors.
"In a count of three I'm going to need you to push this baby out."
I don't wait for three. No, I push before they start counting and in a manner of a second I hear a loud piercing cry and a little relief from the pains. They don't let me rest though, because as soon as I start to take a deep breath, they start again but this time more intensely. And without thinking I push again and until I feel the pains go down. But they don't go away, no I'm hit again with another her pain and my mind is still on "push" and so I do. I push so hard that I hear and feel nothing after that. I black out into a peaceful sleep.
Jason
Three.
Three babies who are very loud when they cry. We were only told about two. And if I was not in that room when my wife was giving birth, I would not have believed it. We only prepared for two.
I still can't believe it. I don't know if it is luck or a curse, because the woman sleeping on the bed might kill me whe@n she wakes up. She's been asleep for the past hour. I called her mother and brothers and told them the news. Ms Willow went to the house to prepare for the extra baby and I have four idiots who can't stop looking at the babies and cooing and talking shit.
"I swear I don't understand how women do it. All these babies came out of her?" Kyle asks for the second or third time. I still feel like kicking his ass even now.
The babies have no names right now. Two boys and one girl, one of the boys was the extra. The girl came out first then followed by the boy. I also see where all the food my wife kept on eating went. And why she was in the type of pains she was in. The babies are big. And the doctor who keeps popping his head in the room to check if Olivia is awake told me that they are healthy.
Olivia stirs and blinks her eyes open but groans at the bright light and throws her arm over her eyes. She is finally awake. I walk over to her and kiss her forehead and press the button over her head to call on the doctor.
"How are my babies, Jason?" She asks me, I guess her maternal instincts have kicked in.
"There are there of them Lil sis." The little shit that is Kyle beats me to answering.
"They are fine. They're sleeping for now." I answer her anyway.
Just as she's about to speak, the doctor walks into the room, saving me from Olivia's lashing.
"Welcome to the land of the living Mrs Osbourne. How are you feeling?" She asks her, taking her file in hand and writing on it.
"Like I've been run over by a bus." My wife replies.
"Then you're feeling good. You gave birth to three healthy babies. We've run every test there is to run on babies and we're waiting for some of the results, but everything else is fine. We are though going to keep you over night and you will be released tomorrow along with your babies. We just need names so that we can fill in the blanks." The nurse updates Olivia, telling her the same thing she told me.
"I'm very hungry and you all keep telling me about three babies when I only ordered two." She says in return.
"Yes well we were as surprised as you are right now, but it is not uncommon for this type of situation. Babies always seem to his behind others in the tummy." She answers back, a big smile on her face.
"Landon, Kyle and Toby, in that order. Names please." She says, surprising me.
