Chapter 68: Chapter Sixty-Eight
Olivia
Oh the joys of being pregnant.
The joys of being Mrs Osbourne.
The joys of waking up the day after the wedding.
What a beautiful feeling. I could sleep forever right now if not for Jason waking me up for some reason. I lift the blankets up all the way to cover my head, but that doesn't help me at all. My husband decides that it's a good idea to take of all the blankets from on top of me, leaving me bloody cold.
"Jason. Let me sleep." I glare at him.
"I would but it's almost noon, and Desiree and her husband want to see you before they leave." He says with a smile, and I see that he's very happy waking me up.
And then my mind pauses and go back to what he just said. Shit, I forgot that she told me they were leaving first thing when they wake up. I scramble to get out of bed as fast as my pregnant as can.
"We'll get me a gown, don't just stand there." I tell him and he raises his hand showing me the pink thick gown. "You're the best maid a girl can ask for." I say with a smile which he returns shaking his head.
"Everyone is sitting out at the patio waiting on the princess. Come on now." He says almost laughing.
"Wait, why am I a princess? I'm supposed to be a queen." I say with a pout.
"Because Queens know when to not keep her people waiting."
"This queen is pregnant." I say jutting out my hip as far as I can. I swear everything is almost hard to do when you're pregnant.
"Yes you are baby." He says and pulls me into his arms and kisses me just as the lift opens.
We go to the patio, and I'm surprised by the number of people that are here, my brothers included. Joseph is also here surprisingly. I wave at them all with a big smile.
"Hello everyone. Sorry for keeping you waiting. I didn't even know there was brunch today."
Jason pulls out a chair for me next to the head of the table and he takes the seat at the head. He hands me a cup of warm tea as people greet me and the conversation carries on. Honestly they didn't even need me. They're all discussing yesterday's festivities, which tells me they enjoyed the wedding.
Desiree stands up, and with a champaign glass and teaspoon in her hands, she clinks them together to get everyone's attention.
"So my friendship with Olivia is actually very short. A month or two before I met my husband, I initiated a friendship with this beautiful soul. I was very lonely at the time, I didn't have friends. She was also going through something in her life. And we bonded over that. Babe you've become a sister I never knew I needed. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Thank you for loving me when most of the time I couldn't love myself. But most importantly, thank you for being my friend." She finishes, both of us are in tears when she's done talking. I stand up as she walks towards me and gives me a hug.
"What she's not telling you guys is that she actually forced our friendship. She's one persistent woman. I couldn't stand a chance with her. We're a match made in heaven." I tell everyone after our hug and they laugh.
"And that is our cue to leave. I will see you soon after the little ones have crossed over to this side of the world." She tells me as her husband stands up and surprises me by hugging me to which I hug him back and he moves on to Jason and they shake hands. They're still far from being friends I see. Demetrius is too uptight anyway.
After those two leave, brunch continues although some people stand up to leave once they're plates are empty. It continues like that until it's only my brothers Joseph and my mom at the table. To which the noise at the table now increases as if they were all waiting for everyone to leave. Everyone is laughing and having the time of their lives as if today is the real wedding day.
Mom has left the table to leave the young people alone. I'm the only girl at the table right now. It's times like these that I wish she was living close by. I'm watching and listening to them all talk when I feel a strong kick on my ribs and I release a sharp cry. Now all the attention is on me as if they all just remembered I was still here with them.
"Honestly all of you must get yourselves girlfriend's so that I have people I can also talk to." I say rubbing my stomach where the kick was.
"Well, are you ok then?" Joseph asks.
"Yeah, that was a pretty loud scream there." Toby adds.
"Im ok, just one of the two aliens who've taken over my body who are kicking me." I answer truthfully and their worried faces relax.
After they are sure that I'm fine, they go back to their conversation and I go back to being bored.
" Do you want to take a walk?" Jason whispers in my ear. He doesn't have to ask me twice, I nod my head yes and he scoots his chair back and stands up, coming to stand behind me and pulling my chair back to help me stand.
"Ahh, the joys of being married. Where is our lovely couple going?" The baby of the family asks.
"We're out to take a walk. Want to join us everyone?' Jason asks mockingly.
"None of you are coming with us. Sit your asses down." I say and they all laugh.
Jason and I walk back into the house and go out using the front door. In peace and quiet we walk.
"Are you better today?" He asks me, leaving me very confused. ''You're not as tired I mean."
"Oh, yes I'm very better. Thank you." I reply.
The yard is already empty. Everything is now back to normal. It looks absolutely clean. I'm glad I woke up after everything was taken away. Although I wish I could have seen it one more time. I really enjoyed yesterday though.
