Chapter 65: Chapter Sixty-Five
Olivia
Today is the big day. Jason and I didn't sleep in the same bedroom. I moved to a room far away from our room, on the other side of the house, but on the same level as him and shared the room with Desiree. Jason didn't want me sleeping alone and I didn't want to sleep with my mom. Desiree says that Demetrius was complaining that we're forcing him to sleep alone when he is not used to it. She told me that ever since they started having sex, he doesn't let her sleep even one day without entering her.
We slept super late because we were catching up on what's going on in our lives. The things we couldn't discuss on the phone were suddenly being spoken finally. We spoke about everything. I was very happy and content. I complained to her about things I couldn't tell Jason or my mom or Mrs Belle and she also did the same. I was just glad that none of the camera's in the house had speakers so we could be listened to.
We slept after twelve, she was busy having wine so she was mighty tipsy by the time we slept, but apparently I was the only one sleeping because I woke up alone and the sheets so cold that I know for sure she didn't sleep here. It's ok though, they are newly weds after all and I k own what wine can do to a woman's libido. I've got experience first hand on that one.
I woke up around six, thirty minutes ago, Desiree opens the door to the bedroom as slight and slow as possible. I'm pretty sure she's hoping that I'm still asleep. After she closes the door and turns to face me, her face falls. It's a very funny look on her honestly.
"You're supposed to still be asleep you know..." She tells me as she joins me on the bed.
"And you smell like sex little missy." I say laughing at her.
"Ahh, I didn't even get a wink of sleep last night. I swear, if I didn't use contraceptives I'd be pregnant by now." She says and lays back down on the pillows.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Look at me." I say and rub my big tummy.
In a way, I'm jealous of Desiree. I wish I was the one having sex marathons like she said. But I don't want to dull my mood, it's my wedding day.
"Are you ready to be pampered and made I to a princess?" A big smile is on her face. I laugh at the picture she just painted.
"Have you ever seen any princess with such a big baby bump?" I ask her as I laugh and she also laughs.
"Well there's a first time for everything. And with your dress, you could make Cinderella run for her money." She says.
"Thank you." I say taking one of her hands in mine. "You've been more than a friend to me, you've been a sister. I couldn't have asked for someone better, especially because we met only a few months ago." I finish with a laugh to lighten up the mood.
And I mean every word. She really did become a sister, one that I never had. I got the chance to experience a connection of true friendship even with the distance between us. She's been a diary I never thought I needed.
My friendship with Scarlett was a lot different. There were things I felt I couldn't talk to her about because I knew she was going to judge me. I almost always walked on eggshells. I was not as free as I thought I was. Being Desiree's friend gave me a lot to think about when it came to that friendship.
"Well good. Because I feel the same. But I don't want your vows girl, save those for your husband to be." She says and we laugh.
The door opens and my mom walks in, followed by Mrs Belle and one of the girls who help around the house, I haven't gotten her name yet, she rolls in a tray that smells like blueberry pancakes and my mood skyrockets. I already know that there's yoghurt with them. I sit up and open my arms. I am hungry and I am ready for the food, most of all on this day.
I start eating as the ladies discuss what is on the agenda for the day. As much as I can't wait for me and Jason to get married, I can't wait for the day to end. I'm already exhausted just thinking about the activities of the day.
My phone rings and I pick it up to answer. It's a video call from Jason, he laughs when he sees that my mouth is full. "Morning my soon to be wife." He says with a big smile on his face. I send the food down with milk and smile at him.
"Morning my soon to be husband." We smile at each other saying nothing but everything at the same time.
Desiree plucks the phone from my hand. "A groom is not to see his wife before they meet at the alter. Sorry Jason, bye." And the call is off. I don't care though, because what she doesn't know is that he can see me plenty and none of these people actually know. And because I know he's watching, I look at where the camera is and blow him a kiss when nobody is watching me.
I'm told to take a bath, as the nail technicians are on their way, thus starts my day.
I get my nails done in a perfect white, although when dipped in water they change colour, green if the water is hot and orange if the water is cold.
Then comes the hair dresser, who pins my hair in an updo, a request from Jason.
A second bath of the day takes place to keep my body hydrated.
And then comes the make up. An artsy autumn colours blend is put on my face.
And finally stolen from a Hindu tradition, of the Henna adornment. Which goes beautiful with the blend of colours on my face.
The one thing I'm grateful for is the food. At my request, a buffet of meat and veggies together with fruits were put in the bedroom to prevent people from coming in and out of the room. The less people to see me the better, I don't know what it says about my husband though. I can call him that, right? I mean, we're a short time from getting married anyway.
Last but not least, with thirty minutes before we say our "I do's", my dress. Only Desiree had the pleasure of seen the dress because she had to do something similar. So when Lwandle helps me put it on, the gasps that fill the room make me happy I chose this type of dress. With the train written "Mrs Jason Osbourne", I know I chose right.
I feel beautiful and I know I look it. I'm ready to get married.
