Chapter 17: 17. Rejecting Janette

*SAVIOR'S POV*

"Let her in," I instructed wearily.

Shortly after, Janette entered. She was dressed in a large robe that made me cast a questioning look her way, but before I could ask the burning question, the robe fell off her shoulders, revealing her unclothed body barely concealed by a lacy white short dress that clung to her figure.

A smirk formed on my lips as my eyes feasted on her enticing body. I waved a finger at her. "Come here."

She smiled as she catwalked to me, swaying her hips seductively.

"Kneel," I ordered, and she obeyed. I parted my legs, letting her crawl between them. I leaned in, my face inches away from hers. "What is this, Jane?"

Janette bit her lower lip, looking into my eyes. "I heard my king had a stressful day, I thought I might do something to relieve him."

I smirked, my fingers trailing down her neck to her perky curves. "I wouldn't mind finding solace in my Luna."

Janette fluttered her lashes innocently while her naughty hands found their way to the tent already formed between my legs. But immediately she touched me, I felt a strange numbness between my legs, and the next thing I realized was that the tent was falling rapidly.

My mood instantly dampened. With a sigh, I pushed Janette away, but she refused to take the hint. She went further to swallow my pride even in its paralyzed state.

I watched her struggle to lift it for hours. No matter how good her oral skills were, they made no impact on me.

I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up, leaving Janette on her knees. "Return to your quarters," I instructed her as I tucked away my dormant little brother.

"But, my love," Janette attempted to argue.

"But nothing, Janette. Return to your quarters; don't make me show you how," I said, my annoyance becoming evident.

Tears shimmered in Janette's brown eyes. "The people will start talking..."

"Don't you dare threaten me," I snapped at her, then I sighed, lowering my voice. "Just leave; I will visit you soon."

"Who is she?" Janette whispered.

I cocked a brow. "What?"

"Who is she?" She yelled, grabbing my leg. "Who is taking my place in your bed?"

I exasperatedly sighed. "Leave my chamber before I throw you out."

"What must I do to deserve your love, Savior?" Janette continued, ignoring my order. "I waited for years. I did everything within and out of my strength to be the perfect Luna for you. Is this the reward I get for my sacrifice?"

"Out!" I yelled, pointing at the door. "I wish not to see your face."

"No." Janette shook her head stubbornly. "I won't go. I will stay!"

"Go now; I command it," I said, my tone cold and unwavering.

Janette couldn't maintain eye contact anymore because I was asserting my alpha dominance on her.

She wiped her tears, anger replacing her desperation. "Once I find the woman that has been stealing my place in your bed, I will make her wish for death."

"Out!"

Cheeks puffed, Janette wore her robe and stormed out of my chamber. When I was finally left alone, I groaned out loud.

"Why can't I perform when I am with her?"

I unfortunately knew the answer to that question; it was the mate Bond, affecting me negatively, especially when I was with Janette.

I decided to go out for a run, but in the end, my frustration grew because all I could see was Thalia's face in Janette's body, and with this foolish thought came a reaction.

My wolf this time didn't struggle to take control even though I wanted him to. I wanted him to summon Thalia so I could have a reason to blame her, but it seemed as if he was tired of my game.

I didn't want to let my primal instinct make me do something I would regret, but when I returned to my room, I couldn't stop myself.

"Fetch me the blind slave," I mind-linked my loyal guard that was always stationed outside my quarters.

A few moments later, he informed me that she was at the door. I sat on my wooden chair, waiting for her to enter.

As per my instructions, she was dressed to appeal. The hourglass curve of her body caught my eyes, and almost immediately, it sparked a reaction between my legs.

I ground my jaws. This lowly slave had control over that part of my body; her mere presence sparked reactions.

"Come here."

... There was no movement from Thalia; she remained rooted to the spot.

"Are you also deaf?" I yelled at her, but rather than obey, she hung her head low, unshaken.

I frowned, clenching my fists. "If I repeat myself, Thalia, I will make you pay."

She swallowed, afraid but still refused to move.

Annoyance overwhelmed me as I strode to her. I lifted her chin, forcing her to look at me. "Has your fear for your King become so little that you disregard his command? Do you want to die?"

Thalia's grey eyes watered. "I do not disregard you, sire. I am only obeying your order."

I pinched her jaw harder. "My order was for you to come to me, not standing here like a bloody statue," I said between my teeth.

Thalia sniffed, crumpling her dress in her tight fists. "You are not yourself right now; your wolf is in charge, and the real you ordered me to reject you when you come to me."

I lessened my grip on her chin and planted a kiss on her lips. "What if I told you that 'the real me' is the one in control now? What will you do?"

"I won't believe you," Thalia whispered, tearing her gaze from mine.

"Why?" I asked, amused.

"The real you would never be kind to me," she mumbled softly.

I rested my head on her neck then whispered in her ear, "do you like it when I am kind to you?"

Goosebumps lined on her neck, and I knew instantly that I had found her weakness.
