After some minutes, Erica slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head to see Alex, who was still looking at her with a blank facial expression.

"Are you done?" Alex asked Erica, who immediately recalled that the receptionist who had wanted to go and show her to the patient she wanted to see could also see Alex, and she wasn't afraid when she saw him, so that literally means that he wasn't dead; he was still alive. She was just so frightened that she didn't even take some time to think about that before running out of the hospital like a crazy woman.

"So you aren't dead?" Erica asked Alex, who was still looking at her with a blank facial expression.

"Yes, I'm dead; right now it's my ghost that is talking to you," Alex said to Erica with a sarcastic tone.

"Come on, Doctor Alex, I'm serious. I thought you were dead. I mean, everyone thought you were dead, including Amelia," Erica said to Alex.

"Well, that's because I was actually dead. Even I myself thought that I was already dead, but fortunately Adrian saved me, and as you can see, I'm still alive," Alex said to Amelia.

"Ooh, that's good. So have you told Amelia that you are still alive?" Erica asked Alex.

"No, I haven't. In fact, all those who knew that I was dead don't yet know that I'm still alive, except for those who have seen me after I recovered, so whenever Amelia and I meet, she will know that I'm alive. Well, she's your friend, so I'm very sure that you will tell her very soon," Alex said to Erica.

"Well we all deserve to be happy, Amelia wasn't happy being with me, and neither was I happy being with her, so I let her go so that she can be with the person she will be happy with, and also I will be with the person I will be happy with. Hope that answers your question." Alex asked Erica, who nodded in reply.

"Perfect, now what brought you to my hospital?" Alex asked Erica.

"Well, one of our patients was transferred to your hospital for an urgent surgery; he was the one I was about to go and see before seeing you," Erica said to Alex.

"Okay then, let's go in then, but mind you that after what you just did everyone is going to think that you have gone crazy," Alex said to Erica with a mockery tone.

"Come on, Doctor Alex, please don't bring that up. I'm already ashamed of myself, and I think that alone is already enough punishment for me," Erica said to Alex, who only smiled before shaking his head in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Adrian was sitting in his office at the hospital while going through some documents that needed his signature. Suddenly, his phone that was lying on the desk started ringing. Checking the caller ID, he immediately picked up the call and put the phone on loudspeaker before continuing with what he was doing.

"Hey Derek, how are you doing?" Adrian asked him after picking up the call.

"I'm doing good, man. What about you?" Derek asked Adrian.

"I'm doing good too; I just got some information from some of my men who have been on the lookout for Mara," Derek said to Adrian, who immediately left what he was doing to pay attention to what Derek had to say.

"Ooh, that's good. What did they find out?" Adrian asked Derek with an impatient tone.

"Well, they found out that she just sent her son back to live with her father. Well, they don't know the reason why she did that, but me personally, I think she did that in order to focus on getting her revenge on you for what you did to Dave," Derek said to Adrian, who burst into a round of laughter.

"And how exactly is she going to get her revenge on me? Is she going to come after me or attack my pack just as Dave had done?" Adrian asked Derek through the phone.

"Well, I don't know, bro; it's just what I thought, but I don't know if it's true or not. But then, I will still advise you to be very careful. If there's one thing I have learnt since when I became an Alpha, it's to never underestimate anyone, especially those we think that aren't capable," Derek said to Adrian.

"I know, bro, and I'm not underestimating her; instead, I'm prepared for whatever is coming," Adrian said to Derek.

"I'm happy to hear that, by the way. How are things going over there? Has she accepted to get back with you?" Derek asked Adrian through the phone.

"No, bro, it's still the same story every single day. She keeps on telling me to move on with my life no matter what I do. I even went to the extent of buying the hospital in which she works in order to be close to her, but guess what? She wasn't even moved. Instead, she still repeated the same thing she has been saying right from the beginning, which is to move on with my life," Adrian said to Derek with a dejected tone.

"Come on, bro, I thought I told you to give her some space. Why the hell would you buy the hospital in which she works? Don't you know that you will be suffocating her? It will be as if you are stalking her," Derek said to Adrian.

"But bro, how on earth am I supposed to keep an eye on her and protect her in case Mara comes after her instead, and how am I also going to give her reasons to accept me back?" Adrian asked Derek, who sighed heavily.

"Bro I understand that you want to protect her and also get her to get back to you, but you have to also accept the fact that she might never get back to you, and who knows, maybe Mara is never going to come after her or you, so bro, while you are trying your best to look at things from the bright side, also look at it from the dark side," Derek said to Adrian, and at the same time, the door to Adrian's office burst open, and Amelia barged in with an angry facial expression written all over her face.
