Chapter 108 The Bloody Fight

Chapter 108 The Bloody Fight
The time has come for the three Alphas to fight each other. A huge crowd of people gathered in the plaza.
In the center, a boxing ring was erected, specially designed for the event.
Mira took the microphone from the announcer and began her speech. “Hello everyone! Good evening! I hope you enjoyed the Moonlight Festival. Thanks to the Moon Goddess for the endless blessings she bestows on us. Thank you for a wonderful day! It’s been a huge success so far.” She pauses for a minute, smiling brightly while waving at the crowd.
Then she continued, “Tonight, I’m going to choose my husband. I will marry the one who remained standing after the two-hour friendly fight between my admirers. They are Alpha Robin of the Grayme Pack, Alpha Gary of the Eclipse Pack and Alpha Movin of the Frost Crown Pack. No deadly weapons are going to be used in the fight, just pure strength and wise strategy. Anyone who steps out of the ring is already out of the fight.”
The crowd erupted in cheers, their applause thunderous as they chanted the names of the fighters they have supported.
“Let the fight begin. Let's enjoy this spectacular event everyone!” Mira said loudly. "Good luck to the fighters! Remember, no headbutting! It’s forbidden!”
Once again the crowd erupted in loud cheers as the fighters proudly entered the ring.
The announcer counts from 1 to 10 and the fight begins.
Mira’s phone suddenly vibrated. She took it out of the pocket of her black blazer and read the message which came from her beloved Alpha Gideon.
His message contained a good amount of begging. Then he explained his arrangement for the three of them if she agreed to do soul swapping with Luna Rosie. He proposed that he and his wife would stay in the Moon Star Pack so she could continue to rule the pack in the background. They can live in the same house in peace and harmony.
He wants to marry Luna Amira as his second wife. He will have two wives and that is still acceptable because royal heirs are allowed to have more than two wives if the need arises. No one would question the arrangement because it was legal by nature.
But what about her? Is it acceptable for her?
Would she accept it?
Luna Rosie taking over Luna Amira’s body? No way! She can’t accept it!
Another woman would enjoy the fruit of her labor? No way!
The arrangement doesn't sit well with her.
What if one day Luna Rosie suddenly returned to her scheming self and betrayed her? What if the bitch kicked her out of the pack, or poisoned her? Her life was in jeopardy.
She can trust Alpha Gideon with her life, but she can’t trust Luna Rosie. That bitch might harbor evil intentions towards her.
She knows too well that not all kindness and good deeds are valued by other people. Sometimes kindness is ignored and set aside, fueling greed in people's hearts, and Luna Rosie is not an exception.
No, she just can’t bring herself to dig her own grave. Luna Rosie might change for the worse, she might defy and betray her in the long run. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
This time, she will protect herself first.
She remembered so well the physical pain she suffered at Luna Rosie’s hands in the past.
Her heart and mind were united in telling her not to trust Luna Rosie ever again. She is a manipulative and cruel person when nobody is watching.
She better listen to her instincts this time.
That bitch might look pitiful today because she is dying but she knows her better than anyone else.
The crowd suddenly erupted in cheers as one fighter had already been kicked out of the ring. It was Alpha Movin from the Frost Crown Pack.
Only half an hour into the game and one fighter was already out.
She’s not enjoying the fight, she finds it boring but the crowd enjoyed the spectacle so she had to stay and force herself to watch it because after all she had to cheer for the winner.
She picked up her bag and looked inside. Her pet snake was not in the bag.
When she looked at the ring, Brownie was on top of the post near the ring, watching the fight closely. It seemed like her pet was enjoying the fight or manipulating the fight?
She only knew one thing, that her pet was wise, powerful and cruel. A deadly combination.
She is very lucky that destiny has chosen her to be Brownie’s master.
Her pet saved her life several times and punished her enemies the way they should be punished.
Her gaze was drawn to the two fighters throwing punches and kicking each other, like fierce gladiators fighting in an arena. The fight was intense and also painful to watch.
The crowd was chanting the fighters' names. They have their own favorites.
Then the time has finally come…
Brownie made eye contact with Mira.
Mira nodded her head, a form of signal.
Brownie looked at the two fighters and wielded magic. With sheer force the two fighters headbutted each other.
The impact of the headbutt was so severe and life-threatening, both fighters fell to the ground with bleeding noses and then the referee started counting from one to ten. The two fighters were unable to stand up and continue the fight because they both passed out.
The crowd gasped in shock and horror as the tragedy unfolded in front of their eyes.
The pack doctor rushed to the ring and called for an ambulance parked nearby, shouting his instructions to bring the injured fighters to the nearest hospital.
It all happened so fast. Everyone was stunned but not Mira because she had already anticipated it would happen. But she couldn't stay unbothered for long. Sporting a worried expression on her face, she rushed to the ambulance and looked at the bloody faces of the fighters, pretending she was shaken and deeply worried about their condition.
“Bring them to the hospital ASAP!” she commanded in a shaky voice.
“Yes Luna!” the pack doctor replies.
The ambulance left the plaza, heading for the nearest hospital.
The announcer announced that the Moonlight Festival was officially over. The crowd dispersed and went home.
Great! The show is over. Mira can finally go home. She picked up her brown bag with Brownie sleeping inside. She was yawning when she entered her car and instructed the driver to take her to the hospital instead of going home.
As much as she wanted to go home and lay down on her comfy bed to sleep, she needed to continue her facade of showing genuine concern for the well-being of the two injured Alphas.
The people will remember her kindness and attentiveness in making sure the two fighters are well taken care of in the hospital.
She might be losing sleep tonight, but tomorrow she will sleep all day.
While the car was moving towards the nearest hospital, she thought of Alpha Movin, the first Alpha who was taken out of the game.
Where is he now?
What is he thinking about right now?
Would he finally believe in the curse? It doesn’t matter, he will be lucky to be alive for a few days, he will meet his end soon. There are so many ways to skin a cat.
She slipped her hand into her bag and caressed Brownie’s skin lovingly. ‘Sleep well, Brownie. Thank you for disposing of my enemies.’
When she finally arrived at the hospital, the injured fighters were already rushed to the emergency room and attended to by the doctors.
She sat in the lobby of the hospital, looking tired and sleepy. Her face looked haggard.
A few minutes later, Ruth and the other council members arrived at the hospital and gathered around her.
“Luna, you look tired and sleepy. You may go home now and rest. No need to wait here. I will assign my assistant to stay awake here in the hospital on your behalf," Ruth offered.
“OK. I will stay here for another two hours and then go home. I want to know their condition before I leave,” Mira replied.
The families of the injured Alpha have arrived at the hospital. They were crying helplessly, devastated by the tragedy, deeply worried about the condition of their loved ones. Ruth and Mira were busy comforting the devastated family.
They waited for two hours for the doctor to talk to them.
After two hours of waiting, the doctors finally emerged from the emergency room and said they would transfer the injured men to the ICU because the men suffered brain hemorrhage, a deadly complication of the forbidden headbutt.
“I told them not to engage in headbutting, but they were stubborn and did it despite my warning,” Mira said dejectedly, her tone filled with sorrow.
“It’s the choices they made that have landed them in the hospital, Luna. They are both consenting adults. They can't blame you,” Ruth said consolingly.
When Mira can no longer stop herself from yawning, she and Ruth finally leave the hospital.
When Mira finally arrived at Moon Star Pack headquarters it was already midnight. She went straight to her room and removed her pet from the bag and put it gently on the bed. “Sleep well, Brownie,” she murmured and then went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and retire for the night.
After donning her pajamas she lay down on the bed and hugged Brownie.
“I wonder what Alpha Movin is doing right now? Was he already plotting against me?” she murmured sleepily, and finally closed her eyes to sleep.
A few minutes later, the snake's eyes were wide open.
It disappeared from the bed.
…
At the Frost Crown Pack headquarters surrounded by towering trees and lush vegetation, Alpha Movin can be seen drinking hard liquor, alone, nursing his wounded ego. He was dying of embarrassment that he was the first to be kicked out of the ring.
What a shame!
After he was kicked out of the game, he quickly left the plaza out of shame.
Instead of watching the fight from afar, he went home, feeling angry and ashamed of his defeat witnessed by the huge crowd. He became the embarrassment of his own pack.
So he went home and drank hard liquor to overcome his shameful defeat.
Then the bad news came. His confusion deepened after hearing the shocking news that both Alpha Gary and Alpha Robin were seriously injured during the fight. They were brought to the hospital because of brain hemorrhage caused by the deadly impact of the headbutt.
They might never survive…
Once again, Luna Amira’s voice rang in his ears. She warned them of her curse but they didn't believe her. They thought she was just trying to scare them into cancelling the fight.
Now it's finally happening, and the good news is, he doesn't have to worry about the curse anymore as long as he is alive!
Alpha Robin and Alpha Gary can die anytime and he doesn't care at all.
As long as he is still alive, he still has plenty of chances to defeat and destroy the Moon Star Pack and bring down the stupid and arrogant Luna Amira to her knees.
He looks at his horse, beckoning him. He suddenly rose to his feet. The desire to ride his horse surged strongly in his heart.
He found himself walking to the horse. His mind was screaming, prohibiting him not to ride the horse because he was drunk and he might encounter an accident while riding in the forest.
But against his will he mounted his horse quickly as if his body was controlled by someone he couldn't see.
His horse moved forward and broke into a fast gallop. He was trying to grab the rope halter to control the horse.
His horse brought him deeper into the forest a few meters away from the pack's headquarters.
When he attempted to get off the horse, he couldn't move his feet and hands and the rest of his body. He was turned into a statue. He remained saddled on top of the horse though, unable to control the raging animal.
Oh shiit! This is not going to end well for him.
Then his horse broke into a fast gallop, heading in the direction of the nearest cliff.
He was desperately trying to move his hands to control the rope halter and bring his horse to a halt but to his horror the horse jump into the cliff and before his body hit the sharp rocks below he finally realized one thing, Luna Amira was telling the truth, her curse is true and she was trying to save them before the tragedy happened, but it was too late now.
They should have listened to her!
Then he fell on the rocks and lost his life.
Back in the hospital, the two injured Alphas were watched by nurses around the clock, as they continued to fight for their lives.
At the break of dawn, their medical monitor flatlined, signifying death and the nurses and doctors were trying their best to save and stabilize their condition. But all their efforts failed.
By 6:30 in the morning, the doctors had finally declared Alpha Gary and Alpha Robin dead.
The families of the dead were quickly notified of the sad news.
Ruth brought the bad news to Luna Amira’s room first thing in the morning.
