Chapter 10 I Want My Life Back!
Lena rushed to Mira’s side. “Luna, are you hurt?” she asked worriedly.
Mira looked at the broken glass on the floor. “I’m fine. I’m not hurt,” she replied calmly.
“Luna, be careful and don’t step on broken glass. I’ll get a broom and dustpan to clean up the broken glass,” Lena said, rushing to the door to get the cleaning tools downstairs.
Mira shifted her attention to the garden and saw Luna Rosie holding the hose, watering the plants. She left the window and sat on the bed. Every fiber of her being was shaking at the sight of her own body being inhabited by another soul.
The feeling was so bizarre that it made her head spin.
She felt dizzy, as if she was going to get sick.
She climbed onto the bed and closed her eyes to sleep. She needs to calm herself down and gather some strength. How can she face Luna Rosie if she feels weak and ill?
She won’t be able to solve her problem if she only acts brave outside but cowardly inside.
She only needs twenty minutes of rest and calm so she can get back on her feet to face her problem waiting in the garden.
Lena entered the room. “Luna, please stay on the bed. I will clean the floor.”
Mira nodded her head and tried her best to put her mind at ease.
Half an hour later, Mira got up from the bed, fixed her appearance in the mirror and moved towards the door, ready to face Luna Rosie in the garden.
She exited the bedroom and met Lena in the hallway.
“Luna, where are you going?” Lena asked.
“I’m going to the garden alone,” Mira said casually.
“But Alpha Gideon told me to accompany you everywhere to safeguard your health,” Luna protested.
Mira sighed. “OK, fine. Follow me to the garden and lead the way.”
The two women left the mansion and proceeded to the garden. When they arrived there, Luna Rosie was no longer watering the plants. She can be seen holding a scissors, trimming the red roses near the gazebo.
Lena leads Mira inside the gazebo.
Luna Rosie stopped trimming the plants and glared at Mira.
Mira settled on the sofa and looked at Lena. “I’m craving carrot cake right now. Can you please buy a carrot cake from the bakery store outside the mansion? The money is in my drawer upstairs,” she ordered.
“OK Luna. I’ll go to the bakery now to buy the cake,” Luna replied and left the gazebo.
When Lena was already out of the garden, Luna Rosie quickly entered the gazebo, holding the scissors in her right hand, looking at the body snatcher with murderous intent blazing in her eyes.
Mira steps backward, staring at the scissors, then at Luna Rosie's face. Is she going to stab me with a scissors? She quickly put her hands on her baby bump, caressing it softly, reminding Luna Rosie that if she harm her she might accidentally hurt her baby as well.
Luna Rosie’s face softened, and tears glistened in her eyes. “I’m not going to hurt you. So, tell me who you are? Why are you occupying my body?” she asked, edging closer to the body snatcher.
“I don’t know. I can’t remember anything. I don’t know why I ended up in your body. I just woke up in your body not knowing where I came from,” Mira lied.
Luna Rosie rolled her eyes. “Cut the crap! Do you think you can fool me? You are the soul of this body I’m occupying right now. You are Mira’s soul. We have switched souls. Admit it!”
Mira averted her gaze. She couldn't lie anymore. Luna Rosie’s penetrating gaze pierced through her facade.
“Why do you suddenly become mute? You ran out of lies? You have nothing to say because I’m right? You are an impostor! You stole my body!” Luna Rosie said accusingly. “What kind of black magic have you done to me? Answer me!”
“Don’t accuse me. I didn't steal your body. I don’t know what you are talking about,” Mira said defensively, not letting Luna Rosie’s insults get into her nerves.
“You envy my life? You want it so badly that's why you use black magic on me? You will never succeed. I will fight you all the way.” Luna Rosie snarled, nostrils flaring in anger.
“You are wrong, I never wanted to steal your body. I…I…” Mira stopped talking because defending herself would be useless. Luna Rosie will never believe her explanation.
Luna Rosie sneered. “Lie all you want. I can prove to my husband that I’m the real soul of Luna Rosie and you are an impostor. You are a fake soul! Body snatcher!” she yelled indignantly.
Mira took a deep breath. “No matter what you say, you can’t make everyone believe in your claim. They will always believe me, not you who are only a mere servant in their eyes. Don’t threaten me. If I were you just shut up and live your life in peace. Don’t bother me and my husband!” she retaliated haughtily.
Furious, Luna Rosie grabbed Mira’s hand and squeezed it hard. “You don’t know the password for my phone, the password for my bank account online and my online social media accounts. Therefore you are not the real Luna Rosie. I will reveal your true identity to my husband if you don’t leave my body now!”
Mira sighed. “You want me to leave your body? Tell me how? Can you make us switch souls right now? Because if you have such power you already have done that instead of wasting your time accusing me of things I didn't do.”
Luna Rosie gave her a death glare. “I will never allow a lowly servant to steal my identity, my husband and my baby!”
“Watch out, dear. Lower your voice. Someone might hear you scold Luna Rosie. The royal family will punish you and throw you into the dungeon,” Mira warned her calmly.
Enraged that Mira was uncooperative and still continued to pretend she was innocent, Luna Rosie was dying to slap her face. “Then tell my husband that I am the real Luna Rosie!” she demanded.
“No I can’t do that!” Mira sighed heavily.
“Why can't you do it?” Luna Rosie asked.
Mira met her gaze in defiance. “You want the two of us to live in the same room with our husband? The three of us lying in one bed every night? You want him to go crazy dealing with two women at the same time?”
“No way. You leave my body now!” Luna Rosie ordered indignantly.
“Then how? Show me! You don’t know how to leave my body. I don’t know either. How can we switch souls? If you are a genius, tell me how!" Mira snorted.
Luna Rosie fell silent, cursing profanities under her breath because Mira had a point.
Mira smirked. “See…you can’t solve our problem because we don’t know how to switch souls. In short, we will remain this way forever. And for your information, Alpha Gideon will never accept you as his wife. He would rather choose me because I’m the one who is pregnant with his child and I’m wearing the face of his beautiful wife,” she said confidently. She knew she had gone too far this time.
Luna Rosie’s eyes flashed with contempt. Her silence stretched for a long time and Mira was worried that Lena would suddenly return to the garden at any moment.
“Alright you win,” Luna Rosie finally said.
“Good,” Mira was pleased with Luna Rosie’s acceptance of defeat.
“But before I kept my mouth shut and never told anyone our secret, can you give me my phone? It is the only thing I want to have among my possessions,” Luna Rosie said, her eyes gleaming with bad intention.
Mira’s forehead creased. “You want your cellphone? And what are you going to do with it?”
“It’s none of your business!” Luna Rosie snapped.
Mira went silent, analyzing Luna Rosie’s plan. It’s hard to believe that she would just admit defeat quickly. That’s when something clicked in her head. “Aha, you want your cellphone so you can text Alpha Gideon and tell him the truth? Is that your plan?”
Luna Rosie was furious that the stupid servant managed to guess her next move.
“No way. I will not give you my cellphone,” Mira said wisely.
“How dare you? It’s my cellphone. Do you think you can stop me from telling my husband you stole my body? Do you think I will just do nothing and let you enjoy my life? Never! I will find a way to make my husband kick you out of the mansion!” Luna Rosie growled indignantly.
“What? You want to kick me out of the mansion, then what will happen to the baby that I’m carrying in my tummy? You want to kick your beloved baby into the gutter? What kind of mother are you?" Mira smirked. “I know you can’t do it,” she added confidently.
That stopped Luna Rosie in her tracks. Mira was right. Even if her husband believes her, they can’t kick Mira out of the mansion because she is pregnant with their baby.
Mira smiled. “That’s what I’m saying… What happened to us is very complicated. It can’t be solved quickly unless you find a shaman who can switch our souls back to our original bodies. It is the only way to solve our problems. I suggest that, since finding a shaman who can perform soul-switching is quite difficult, you might as well stay silent or else you will only make things harder for both of us.”
Luna Rosie was livid with anger. How annoying that this mere servant thinks she is smarter than her and the best person who can decide for both of them. She can’t stay a servant for a long time. She hated it when the head servant ordered her around as if she was a slave. She hated doing dirty and heavy chores. She was used to a pampered life and her current life is killing her.
She looked at Mira resentfully. “I can’t allow you to enjoy my life while I’m living your life full of misery. I hate seeing your ugly face in the mirror. I hate doing dirty and heavy chores. I hate the head servant who orders me around as if I’m her slave. I hate everything about your forsaken life!”
Mira sighed. “You will get used to it soon.”
“No! I wasn't born to be a slave. I’m born to be Luna!” Luna Rosie screamed in her face angrily.
“Shh, lower your voice, someone is coming.” Mira alerted her.
Lena finally returned to the garden.
“Go now,” Mira ordered Luna Rosie.
Luna Rosie obeyed with a glare and resumed trimming the roses.
Mira met Lena outside the gazebo. “I’m done relaxing in the garden. Time for me to go back to my room. Let’s go.”
“Copy Luna." Lena nodded her head and followed Mira back to the mansion.
Luna Rosie was left alone in the garden, fuming in anger. Wondering why her life suddenly changed for the worse?
Damn! She lost everything to an impostor. How can she get back her life and everything she lost?
She needs to find a way to get back into her body.
The soul switch makes her crazy!
