NO ESCAPE

NO ESCAPE
Elara’s POV

I drew all my jewelry into a bag, hurrying to escape from being arrested. Ava was dead. The leech holding me back was finally gone.

Sadly she had taken her own life when she found out about her true origin. I had given her a luxury life that made her forget she was actually from the slump.

If not for her use to me, I would have disposed of her years ago. Since she was no longer needed, I might as well abandon her to the fate she succumbed to. She was never mine anyway.

Running for the door I made sure everything I needed was neatly packed into my briefcase. There was only one place for me to get away and be safe.

The human world it was. I'd contacted my old friend to let him know I would be crossing over. I would start a new life there and live the wealthy life I had always dreamed of there.

It's such a shame all my plans to become a Luna dowager had gone down the drain. However, I won't let my nemesis hunt me down and arrest me.

They'd have to cross another universe to get me.

Opening the door to leave, I paused at the sight of Evelyn.

My eyes widened in disbelief. I had hidden my tracks so well. How did she manage to find where I lived?

“You can't run away from your sins, Elara. All the innocent blood you spilled will be after you until you surrender and confess your sins," She said then vanished into the air.

She wasn't real. My pulse slowed down when I realized my mind was only playing tricks on me.

There's no way she will get her paws on me. Even if I give her a chance I will kill her in the process.

EVELYN POV

Watching Ava take her own life left a scar on my chest. She didn't deserve my pity but she was also a victim of Elara's games.

I could imagine what she must have felt knowing that the woman she called mother for twenty years was the killer of her own parents.

But the betrayal and humiliation drove her to the edge. Anyone in her shoes will have done the same.

Sebastian walked in right after I had covered her body. He had a worried frown on his face. I could tell he didn't approve of me joining the hunt for Elara.

“You know I love you, right?" He started, resting his hands on my shoulders.

This was his way of trying to start an argument that he would end up losing.

“That's not even to be questioned. I know you do. But you will say right now it will change my mind. I can protect myself, Seb. I am not that weak girl who couldn't lift a finger when struck down. Elara is someone whom I have known my whole life, the only way to find her is by using what she fears the most." I explained to him the same thing we have been over a thousand times.

Seeing he was relenting from the conversation, I decided to use another tactics to assure him of my safety.

“Listen, I have you to protect me from whenever danger that may befall me. But at the same time, I have a challenge that must be put down. Elara is a smart woman. She would use any trick to get away. And if she does, she will continue to be a threat causing havoc under our nose. She is not the kind of opponent to let loose." I let him know what was at stake.

The babies inside of me would understand and I wish I could tell him about them. But right now, we had different views and he wasn't willing to understand me.

Yes, I was carrying his children. I only found out a week ago after our coronation. Surprisingly, the day of conceivement wasn't from that night of passion but the day we were at the demon realm.

I should have known it was that time. But I was too occupied with the issues at hand to even realize my own condition.

He did be thrilled to know what I had in stock for him and that is why I am trying my best to capture Elara. I won't let my children come in a world where she exists. Everything about her has to be eliminated before my due date.

As known werewolves pregnancy circle didn't take up to four months. My belly was already protruding but I have done a good job at hiding it under oversized garments that looked fitting on me. That way no one would know about it.

“If you are going to do this, you have to promise me you won't get a scratch, involve yourself in any physical combat or do anything risk taking," he listed out his conditions with a stern voice that made my heart flutter.

His protective side always had a way of making me forget my purpose. But my stubbornness always brought me back to reality.

“I promise." I assured him and reluctantly agreed to let me stay on the team.

Dante came in right after we were done coming to terms with ourselves.

“Alpha, Luna, we have found Elara but she is in the run. We located her destination and she is heading for the human realm," Dante informed us instantly.

As I assumed she was up to something not good. She knew that if she crossed over to the human realm, we won't be able to come after her. The Humans and werewolves had a truce not to infiltrate each other's kingdoms for any reason except where one wishes to live amongst the other.

The reason behind that was because of the mate bonding. Some werewolves found their mates to be humans and for them to be together one had to cross over the two realms.

Elara heading over there meant only one thing, her real mate was on the other side. The man who had been with her the day she had murdered Ava's mother must be the one she wa fleeing to.

Now I understand why she wasn't able to give birth. She already had some with the human and has avoided getting pregnant for my father.

But what confused me is her reason behind the absolute ridiculous scheme. If she already had someone she cared about then when marry another man and kill his own wife?

I will get her for that, ruining my parents relationship just for her own pleasure.

“We will be right behind you. Tell Rowan to secure all the gates that leads to the human realm. Put her name on the street for bounty. Whoever that finds her gets a thousand good and free trips to whichever countries they desire," Sebastian said.

Now that I knew her destination, I used a tracking spell to pass a threat to her. Once I was able to locate her, I gave the address to Dante and his team and they went after her.

Sebastian left right after Dante and left Reyna with me. Since I already promised him to be safe, I will only follow behind tracking Elara's destinations.

Tonight, Elara must be captured and punished for her sins. No matter where she runs to I will find her. Even if it's in her dream, she will be hunted by me and those who she has harmed.
