The effects of injecting a needle of C-rank genetic fluid were quite evident. Although it didn't directly propel Li Wei through the bottleneck of Extreme Training, it brought him much closer.
After a self-assessment, Li Wei felt that with another injection of C-rank evolution fluid, or even five or six injections of D-rank evolution fluid, he could truly reach the brink of Extreme Training. As for breaking through, he would need to try another injection.
His mindset had also become more stable. He saw no need to compare himself with so-called geniuses. Indeed, some powerful individuals could achieve what Li Wei could only accomplish with the help of evolution fluid through their own training. But in a real fight, it ultimately depended on individual abilities.
His true reliance was still the Book of Ten Thousand Laws. Thinking about the book reminded him of something—he needed to continue training his Devil's Left Hand.
The use of the demonic hand transformed by demonic power required specialized training; otherwise, problems might arise in actual combat. With a new house and a relatively discreet surrounding, he wasn't worried about disturbing others or being discovered.
He unwrapped the bandage from his left hand, revealing the red demonic arm. With a thought, blue demonic energy rose from the arm.
Controlling the claw made of pure energy remained challenging for Li Wei. It wasn't that he couldn't control it, but since it wasn't a real limb, performing precise actions proved difficult. You couldn't expect an illusory hand to write or practice calligraphy as smoothly as a real one.
While Li Wei didn't aim for that level, he wanted, at the very least, to pick up a cup.
After some time of training, Li Wei discovered that the effects of the C-rank genetic fluid were indeed manifesting. Initially, when he first gained the Devil's Left Hand ability, the manifested claw could only be maintained for a minute. Now, this duration had doubled to two minutes.
Moreover, he noticed that with continued fine-tuning of his control over demonic energy during his training, the duration of this ability was steadily increasing.
However, there was a drawback: the Devil's Left Hand training couldn't be continuous. After two minutes of use, his body felt overdrawn, and he needed a substantial rest before recovering. During this time, he continued training his willpower, benefiting his combat strength.
Of course, nutrition had to keep up.
Currently, Li Wei still had some money on hand. Although the reward for the C-rank mission had been converted into a genetic evolution fluid, the money found in Zhang Xi's house was still with him. While not enough for many things, it sufficed to buy high-quality food and supplements for the energy needed to train his body.
Two minutes of Devil's Left Hand training, two combat techniques, body training, followed by meals and rest, and then the cycle continued. During this time, Li Wei's life became both regular and fulfilling.
He didn't leave the house for a week, not even to eat. The food was delivered by the shopkeeper. With no urgent need for money and no pressing matters, there was really no reason for him to go out.
However, if there was time, he wouldn't mind taking on one or two D-rank missions. For now, though, he decided against it. First, he wanted to deal with the trouble posed by Zhang Zongming.
A week passed without Li Wei continuing his training. This was a life-or-death battle, and he needed to maintain optimal physical condition.
Stepping out of his house, Zhang Zongming was already standing on the opposite side, watching from a distance. His gray-white clothes rustled in the wind.
Seeing Li Wei come out, he remained silent. Slowly, he took down the long bundle behind him.
As the white cloth was unwrapped, a long spear was revealed. Swinging the approximately two-and-a-half-meter-long spear, his figure was agile. The spearhead sparkled with a cold light, emitting a chilling aura.
It seemed the rumors about Zhang Zongming possessing an extraordinary weapon were true.
Li Wei also caressed the short knife at his waist and took out the well-loaded handgun with his right hand.
Another gust of wind blew, and both of them moved simultaneously!
