Chapter 143: CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR
EMILY’S POV
My body was burning up, everything fucking hurt so bad. Bloody hell, it was like I was being burnt alive, but there was only silence, nerve wracking silence. I tried to breathe slowly, but even that was painful, moreover, I wasn’t sure I wanted to breathe because the smell was so terrible. Where was I…?
I cranked my eyes open a little. I was in a small bedroom, not my own for sure. Shit, I had hoped it was but a terrible dream.
Roman…, had he survived?
I didn’t recognize where I was, I couldn't even remember being brought here. I tried to get up, but the pain was a hundred times worse. So I laid back down in confusion.
We were at Black Rivers pack, we signed an alliance like I had wanted, we were on our way back, and then we were attacked. Yep, I wasn’t missing anything.
Whoever brought me here had been putting on a mask, so I couldn’t see who it was. Coward, he could have at least faced me head on.
I healed fast, so why wasn’t I healing, why was I in so much pain.
I glanced around, my eyes stopping at the IV bag connected. My eyes followed the tube to where it was connecting to my arm.
What the hell? Is that what was stopping me from healing?
I stretched my other hand, ripping whatever it was away from my arm.
I looked around again, listening carefully. Everything was silent…. Was the house empty? Had whoever took me left me here to die?
Well fuck no, I wasn’t about to lay here, waiting for their return.
I tried to get up again, groaning in pain, yet I endured it. My stomach was burning. I glanced down at it, grimacing at the ugly swollen lump of flesh. It was probably infected.
I managed to sit up, almost throwing up as I realized I had been sleeping on a dirty bed covered in dried blood and mucus.
What the hell!!
I needed to get out of here, now. I tried to stand, but I probably didn’t estimate how weak I was. My legs buckled hard, sending me to the floor. The impact of my head on the cold hard floor nearly knocked me out. I gritted my teeth hard, allowing the pain to pass through me.
I blinked my eyes hard, the tears pouring out in frustration. I had to escape, I had to.
Roman…, please, can you hear me.
I was too weak, the room was spinning, whatever had been in that drip running through my veins.
I blinked again, shaking my head. Grunting in agony, I forced myself up. I had to close my eyes for a second to stop the spinning. I breath out slowly, gagging at the awful smell.
I put one foot in front of the other slowly, walking towards the door a few feet from me. I was so tired, this small distance I had walked felt like a thousand miles, and my God, the pain…
I got to the door, collapsing against it. Breathing fast. My limbs felt heavy, and I have never felt so weak in my entire life like I did now.
I twisted the door knob, excitement washing over me. I could make it, once I left this room, I could be free. I didn’t know what the outside situation was, or if leaving this room was a big mistake, but I wasn’t staying here to rot any longer.
Fuck.., i mutter, resting my body as my vision grew dark for a second. I felt lightheaded, and weak.
“Well that was impressive, you would have almost made it.”
I swiped my head to the right, nearly falling to my knees at the figure sitting there calmly.
Slowly the figure stood up, walking into my view.
“Antonio,” I mumbled out in surprise.
He raised his hands up, pointing his gun at me.
“What’s the hurry?” he asked calmly.
“Fucking bastard,” I growled out.
And with my last strength, I lunged at him, falling face first on the floor, right at his feet.
Shit…., i probably shouldn’t have done that.
“You shouldn’t have done that.” he says, crouching down, using the car to lift my hair gently out of my face.
I didn’t look up at him, the pain racking through my body was so unbearable I couldn’t move, I laid there, gritting my teeth hard.
Cool hands touched me as Antonio finally took pity on me, turning me around. I groaned, gasping for air.
“Fuck you….,” I gritted out.
Antonio clicked his tongue in disapproval. “I am the reason you are still alive, I’ld advise you to fix your attitude.”
I spat at him, giving him my nastiest glare.
“See…, no manners at all, how can you be the true Alpha huh.” He says with a loud sigh.
“Anyways, I think it’s time we move you to a new room. I can’t stand the smell of this place,” he grumbled out.
“What? Does Alpha George know about this?”
“Where the fuck am I?” I hissed out.
Antonio smiled at me creepily. “I made you a nice little bedroom, where no one will bother you. Come, I’ll show you the way.”
He stood up, stepping away from me.
I glared at him, refusing to move.
“I need to speak with Alpha George,” I growled out. “you cowards, working with the hunters.”
Antonio clenched his jaw hard, pointing the gun at me.
“Listen here bitch and listen good. I am not going to repeat myself, move.”
I chuckled. “You think that can hurt me? News flash, it won’t.”
“I know,” Antonio chuckles out. “that’s why I have been pumping you full with wolfsbane. Why do you think your wounds haven’t healed by now huh?”
As if to prove his point, Antonio shot at my foot.
I screamed, the hunting sound echoing throughout the building.
“Now that I have made myself clear, move.” Antonio yelled out.
I stood up slowly, gritting my teeth hard. My foot was throbbing, blood gushing out.
I was dizzy now, whatever strength I had left drained. It took all my energy to hold myself upright.
Antonio opened the door, which surprisingly led down a long flight of steps.
Now that I had a proper look of the room, I could see another door at the far end, probably where he had come in from, while I wasted all my energy struggling to get to a door leading to his sick dungeon or whatever.
“I’m not going down there you bastard.” I growled out, glaring at him.
“Would you like me to push you down?” Antonio asked me.
I glared at him, gritting my teeth.
Slowly I walked forward, almost tempted to ask him to just push me down as I stared at the long flight of stairs.
I had to survive. That was my motivation as I slowly managed to drag my injured leg and tired body down the stairs, gasping for breath as I stopped in front of a huge door.
Antonio pushed the door open.
I walked inside what appears to be a small room, this door the only way out. Inside, a mattress was on the floor, a portable toilet on the right. Drilled into the wall, was a set of two thick long iron chains.
Shit…
I started backing away, but Antonio dragged me forcefully inside the room. He cuffed the chains to my legs.
“What is this huh? How long do you plan to keep me here?”
“I can keep you here for as long as I need.” Antonio told me.
“I will fucking kill you, I swear on it.” I screamed out as Antonio left me inside this room, the loud click of the door, sealing my fate as I screamed loudly.
I collapsed on the bed, groaning as pain shook my body. My stomach was burning, my foot was burning as the silver bullet spread its poison inside me.
That bastard did not even bother to remove the bullet.
I took in the room through blurry tear filled eyes. No windows, no way out. If I was going to escape, it had to be through that fucking door.
That is if I could manage to break these chains around my legs.
Wolfsbane? That was what had been in those drip. Who knows how long I have been unconscious, how long Antonio has been injecting me with wolfsbane.
Why? I couldn’t understand it. Was this all his doings alone?
Was Alpha George involved in this?
Why? Why would Antonio kidnap me?
