What the hell was happening? The omega held the back of my head to pull me closer to her, deepening the kiss.
My entire body was frozen and my head throbbed in confusion. Her lips against mine felt like it melted my soul as Drex whined. I could've pushed her away but I wanted to remain in this exciting moment. Every organ in my body was hit with a rush of exhilaration at her kiss and the way her hands touched my skin and was buried in my hair made me feel on cloud nine.
"Jane!" Scarlett pulled her away, breaking the kiss sooner than I wanted.
The omega moaned in complaint and it made me feel a strong urge to pull her back to me.
Pam walked over to us, her face reddened with intense fury burning in her eyes. "How dare you create such a stupid scene?" She said to the omega through gritted teeth, her fury glared in her voice like she could switch right now and snap the omega's head off.
"Why are you all being so..." the omega stopped mid sentence and burst into laughter at Pam's facial expression. "You look like you're holding in a fart or about to explode." Seriously? Didn't she like her life?
"Have you lost your mind?" a frown formed on Scarlett's face and she looked equally pissed off.
I grabbed the omega's arm and shoved her behind me before they could take their anger out on her. "She's drunk. Be calm."
"How can I be calm when this stupid lady just kissed you? You're my daughter's boyfriend!" Pan cried.
My forehead wrinkled from my frown as I glanced at Scarlett. Didn't she let them know that it wasn't real? Did she seriously lie to her parents that we're in a relationship? "Scarlett, do you care to explain-"
"I'll take Jane inside!" She cut me off, fidgeting and quickly grabbed the omega's hand, heading towards the stairs with her. "How could you have so much to drink and kiss the Alpha?" Though her nervousness could be read in her voice, she still sounded very pissed off.
"What? I was dared to do it. It's not my fault he was staring at me and looking so grumpy and damn fucking good looking." She shrugged.
I glanced at Pam who still looked like she wanted to beat the omega up.
"It's really fine. Let's head back to our seats." I wrapped an arm around her shoulder and led her back to her seat, ignoring the annoying gazes of the women on me. "I'll excuse myself, I have to use the bathroom." I glanced at one of the women and almost regretted it from the equally irritated and irked glare she was directing at me. It wasn't my fault she was drunk? With a frown on, I left for the bathroom and locked the door.
I washed my hands in the basin then glanced at my reflection in the mirror.
'Didn't it feel so good to finally be kissed by our mate?
I chuckled and placed my thumb on my lip, realizing that it was the first time a woman had kissed me on the lips and though I was supposed to be mad at her for crossing such a boundary, I laughed, a weird type of excitement ran through me. 'I have to admit it felt so great. I almost lost control of everything around me and I didn't want it to end.'
'Exactly! You're finally waking up.'
'How can it be her first time kissing if she was so damn good? She made me frozen and her kiss made her have control of my brain.'
'I should've known this was coming sooner. Now I'm eager for deeper experiences with her than just a kiss. 'He smirked and I cut him off, shaking my head at his dirty mind while still wearing a boyish smile.
"Keegan, get yourself together and stop acting like a child. You're the Alpha of the strongest pack in the world. Stop letting a kiss make you go crazy." I said to myself and maintained a bold stance as I left the bathroom and returned to Scarlett, Pam, and her friends.
For some reason, the omega was still in the living room and was speaking with a few other people. I glanced at Scarlett and like she could understand what I meant, she answered, "She didn't want to go upstairs."
"Oh..."
Ignoring the glares from the women still directed at me and also in the direction of the omega, I kept my focus on my phone's screen to get rid of its awkwardness.
From my sideways glance, I could also feel Scarlett's stare burning against my skin and she seemed pissed off.
"Who the hell is she?" one of the women asked.
"She's a friend." Scarlett replied.
"You had better watch out for such friends. How can she make up the excuse of being drunk to kiss your boyfriend like that? It was way too intense to be a mistake.'
"Thank you for your concern." She said with a fake smile.
"Sounds great! Let's go." I heard the omega say and quickly craned my neck in her direction. A guy had held her hand and she was about to leave the house with him as well as two other men.
"What the heck?" I jerked to my feet, shoved my phone into my pant pocket and ran after her.

Keegan just ran after Jane, ignoring me as I called for him. It made a spark occur in my head. I clenched my fists and jaw to hold in my frustration.
This made no sense at all. How could he be so concerned about her? He had bought her gifts, he was being nice to her lately, and I figured out from Mom that they had spent time together till it was dark and they even used the secret passage.
The way he had been so concerned about her back in the pack house when she was missing had made me skeptical. She's just an ordinary omega. How would the Alpha of the strongest pack be attracted to her? It made no sense.
I had been trying to gain Keegan's attention all my life, back from when we were still members of Night Shadow pack with Vladimir and were all very close friends, back when he considered me his younger sister, I had always had a strong attraction towards him and have had it in mind to be his mate.
Nothing was making sense anymore. He was giving her way too much attention daily than he'd give to me in a week. His eyes hadn't left her since this party began and it was making a fool out of me.
I glanced at Mom and the frown and concern on her face was so justifiable. She had been so excited to find out that Keegan was here as my boyfriend and had told all of her friends about it.
"What is with him and that woman? And why isn't Scarlett letting him know that it makes no sense to pay attention to another woman so much when you're at your girlfriend's parents' anniversary." Mrs. Dason, one of Mom's friends, said.
"I agree with you." Mrs. Jackson replied with a glare at me. "I really thought your baby was smarter than this, don't act like a dumb 'ol woman and fight for your man."
'What the heck is wrong with this old woman? Must she always be so nosy? Can't she learn to keep her mouth shut on things that don't concern her?' Kayla asked, frowning really hard. 'And most importantly, what the heck is wrong with that omega? How dare she kiss our mate? I've been trying to keep quiet but right now, I feel like jumping on her to hit her head against the wall.' She said with a growl, slowly taking over my control.
I shut my eyes and heaved a sigh to calm Kayla down. "I trust Keegan and it was an obvious accident. I'll be right back." I said to them with a forced smile and rose to my feet.
'Where is Keegan?' Kayla asked.
'I have no idea.'
'I'm certain he's going to be hanging around with her. I knew from the start that it was a terrible and stupid idea to be friends with an ordinary omega.' Her exasperation was making me feel even more pissed off. How could she kiss him? How could I watch her have all his attention? I started heading out of the house in search of both of them when someone grabbed my hand.
"Let me be!" Kayla yelled at the person till we realized it was Dad. "I'm sorry." I added a quick apology.
"I understand your frustration." His brows were also furrowed. "This is "
"Scarlett," Mom interrupted him. "I'm worried about you, your relationship with Keegan-"
"Mom, it'll be fine." I tried to sound reassuring. "It isn't. Something's definitely going on between the two of them." Dad said, concern filled his voice.
"I also thought the same."
"I don't... think so..." I trailed off, uncertain of my point.
"It had better not be. You have to be his mate. Remember how important it is for you to be Luna of Dark Stone pack."
"Yes Dad, I know, and I definitely want to be the luna as well."
'I mean, we couldn't have rejected our mate for nothing. We were born to be the luna.' Kayla insisted.
"You have to make sure it happens no matter what. We won't let an ordinary omega take over the position that's rightfully yours. Don't mess anything up, okay? We've been waiting on it for so many years to let anyone crash our dream. Remain focused on your goal and conquer every obstacle." Mom said and I nodded in affirmation.
