Chapter 294: I Will Never Forgive You!

Vera's POV

After hanging up with Willow, I called James.

He reported, "Ruby's meeting with Ryan Miller."

The Club

The door was kicked open from the outside. Atlas, Nathan, and I stood in the doorway, with a group of people behind us.

Ryan's face darkened as he shouted, "Who let you in here!"

Atlas's eyes were cold as water. "When I want to go somewhere, nobody can stop me."

Ryan yelled, "Someone get them out of here!"

Atlas looked at him like he was an idiot. "Save your breath. Your guys? Every single one of them has been thrown out."

But Atlas didn't continue with the threats. He looked at me beside him, his gaze visibly softening. "You'll have to ask my wife about that."

I smiled at Ryan. "Mr. Miller, if you want to compete with Grant Group, I welcome it anytime. But if you're going to use underhanded tactics, Grant Group isn't someone you want to mess with."

Ryan's expression darkened. "I don't know what you're talking about."

A cold edge appeared on my face. "Mr. Miller, even now, you still can't face reality?"

A bodyguard rushed to Ruby's side, snatched the bag from her hands, pulled out the bid documents, and handed them to me.

I held up the bid documents. "What are the consequences for instructing someone to steal trade secrets?"

A middle-aged lawyer stepped forward and said seriously, "According to the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, instructing others to steal trade secrets may result in imprisonment of up to three years or criminal detention. If circumstances are particularly serious, the sentence may be extended to between three and seven years."

Ryan calmly glanced at the pale-faced Ruby. "She's the one who stole it. What does it have to do with me?"

I let out a light scoff. "Mr. Miller, don't treat everyone else like idiots. How do you think we found this place today?"

"We didn't just follow Ruby—we also bugged her phone. The fifty million you gave her, these bid documents, and the copies from your assistant are the most powerful evidence."

"Wiretapping is illegal too!" Ryan shouted.

I smiled faintly. "Who said anything about wiretapping? Do you have any proof?"

The lawyer stepped forward. "Mr. Miller, I'll be sending a formal legal notice to your company shortly."

Atlas gave the security team a look, and four bodyguards immediately escorted Ryan toward the exit.

Ryan yelled, "Atlas Blackwell! The Miller family may not be as powerful as the Blackwells, but we're not pushovers either!"

I looked at Ruby coldly. "I used to think you were just spoiled and stupid. I never imagined your conscience had been eaten by dogs too! The Grant family raised you for over twenty years, and you colluded with an outsider to bring down Grant Group!"

Ruby glared back at me. "If you hadn't stolen everything from me, would I have ended up like this? Anyone in this world can judge me—except you. You owe me this!"

"I owe you?" I scoffed. "When I was starving and locked in dark basements at the Green house, you were living in luxury at the Grants, pampered and adored. When I was alone and helpless, you lived in mansions, drove luxury cars, had Grandfather and three brothers who loved you."

"If we're talking about stealing, you stole from me! And me? I'm just taking back what was rightfully mine!"

Atlas wrapped his arm around my shoulder, his voice soothing. "It's okay. It's all in the past now. I've got you."

Nathan also stepped forward. "Vera, from now on, we're your family. We've got your back."

Ruby screamed hysterically, "How is any of this my fault? Did I switch us? I'm a victim too!"

"Switch?" A cold smile curved my lips. "How did you know we were 'switched' and not just 'accidentally mixed up'? Did you already know you weren't the real Grant family heiress?"

Panic flashed through Ruby's eyes. "No... I... how could I possibly know... I was just talking randomly."

I looked at her coldly. "Drop the act."

I glanced behind me. "James, bring her in."

Soon, he dragged in a silver-haired, haggard-looking woman and threw her onto the floor.

Ruby stared at the woman, her eyes widening in horror. She stumbled and fell heavily into a nearby chair.

The old woman looked at Ruby and called out, "Ruby..."

I said to Nathan, "Could you please go get Grandfather?"

Ruby suddenly looked up at me, terror in her eyes.

When Nathan returned supporting Bill, Ruby dropped to her knees. "Grandfather, I was wrong! Please give me one more chance!"

Bill's face turned red with rage. He pointed a trembling finger at Ruby. "Don't call me that!"

Ruby crawled toward him, crying. "Grandfather, I only did this because Ryan manipulated me! Please don't abandon me!"

Bill looked at her coldly. "This time, I will never forgive you!"

Ruby turned to Nathan, grabbing his hand. "Nathan, I'm your favorite sister! Please beg Grandfather for me!"

Nathan's fingers curled, but after a moment, his hand dropped back down. "I've given you so many chances, but you refused to see reason! This time, I won't help you."

Ruby collapsed to the floor. She looked at them with resentment. "I only made one mistake. Why can't you give me just one chance?"

I looked at Ruby with a smile. "Your acting skills are wasted. You should've been an actress."

Ruby looked at me through her tears. "The Grant family and I have over twenty years of history together. Do you really have to be this ruthless?"

My gaze turned ice-cold.

"You imprisoned your birth mother when you were just a teenager. You manipulated your birth father. You hid your true identity and deceived the Grant family for years. And you still have the nerve to talk about feelings with the Grants!"

"What?!"

Bill and Nathan's faces registered complete shock.
