Chapter 37 Bloody Liar
Ryder's POV
Uriel had my most priceless secret.
One not even the boys I called my brothers and best friends knew.
No fucking body knew.
And I wanted it that way.
But Uriel...
She just couldn't mind her business.
It was all my fucking fault for letting her get too close
Whenever I told myself I'd be hard on her and stay away from her, I always found myself going back on my words.
Now look.
I had to follow her everywhere, giving her that threat look.
It didn't help that she hung out with Chase. Or rather, Chase flocked around her. What if she mistakenly tells him?
That would even be worse.
"You're squeezing my sheet, man!" Peter yelled, snapping my attention back to reality.
"And that's his best score this term. 25/30." Mason mocked
"For Psychology. Add that." Peter frowned at Mason.
"There's a party tonight at Ken's house. You down?" Mason asked.
"Are the nerds invited?" I didn't know when the words slipped out of my tongue
If she was going, then I'd reconsider.
I had to watch her closely.
"Is there anything you're not telling us, man? You've been distant lately, I feel like we need to catch up." Mason smirked.
I raised my eyebrow at them.
"What do you mean?"
"You. Uriel. Have you both done it?" Mason folded his arms.
"I mean, if they have done it then he's supposed to tell us so he can -"
"She's just my assistant. That's all." I told them, my tone harsh. "Also, can you stop bringing that up?"
They understood.
"True. True. We'd just text about it. We don't want her or her friends hearing about it. It wouldn't be fun now, would it?" Peter chuckled.
For some reason, it irritated me.
"But remind me why we're betting on this again?" Mason asked
"Because your man here..." Peter clapped his hand on my back, "loves a good challenge and wouldn't back down until he won this one."
"Seriously, I am -"
"Chase is starting to come off to me as obsessed. Could he truly like Uriel?" Peter cut me off, taking my attention back to those two.
Chase talked while she listened. She smiled here and there but it didn't reach her eyes.
"He just wants in and he's gone." I said dryly, biting into my apple as my eyes connected with that of Uriel,. holding her stare.
A drop of juice from the apple lingered on my lips. Her eyes instantly dropped down to my lips, her pupils dilated.
She watched as I licked off the juice from my lips. Her throat bobbed up and down. Then she looked down immediately, avoiding eye contact like it burned.
"You both are definitely doing something." Mason muttered lowly. "Have you -"
"Can we talk about something else?" I snapped, frowning at them.
"You're hot tempered these days." Mason rolled his eyes. "Well, I don't know how to face Kathie. She kinda heard me talking about fucking Jessica last weekend."
"But you didn't." Peter raised his eyebrow.
"I know. I don't even know why I said it to the boys. I was trying to explain how loosed Jessica was and just said it." Mason groaned, rubbing his hand on his face harshly.
"You like her?" I managed to ask, tossing the apple seed on the tray.
"I choose to reserve that information." Mason said. "I mean, I don't know. I think so."
"At least you have kissed her so you're a step forward. I can't stand Chloe's presence. Her aura is just - I just feel like I'm not good enough to even want her." Peter sighed. "Yet, I fuck her in my dream every night."
"Ew." I laughed, shaking my head.
"It's bad." Peter said.
"There are many girls, why want to subject yourself to just one?" I asked, frowning slightly.
I didn't get.
"Would you want Uriel sleeping around with different boys?" Mason asked.
I frowned. "What's the point of this conversation? Why the fuck are you bringing her into this?"
"There's your answer."
"I didn't answer shit. It's her life. She can..." I paused, looking at her. Chase placed a peck on her cheek, making my heart clench.
My hand balled into a fist.
"You were saying?" Peter mocked
"She can do whatever she fucking wants." I said, watching her from the corner of my eyes as Chase leads her out of the cafeteria.
"They're definitely going to hit it." Mason cooed lowly.
"Or she's going to give him some hand job." Peter chimed.
"She can't do any of that." I spoke almost immediately, shutting my eyes for letting that slip out.
"No fucking way you know that already." Peter laughed
"You're both idiots." I told them, picking up my keys and walking out.
"Going to claim your luna before the wolf strikes?" Peter mocked
I flipped him off.
My demeanor changed into something else as I saw Uriel looking around before entering into a class.
No way Chase wasn't there.
That bastard.
I rushed over there, rattling the door handle. Uriel opened the door, moving aside for me to enter.
I barged in, looking around.
"Where's the fucker?"
She closed the door, locking it.
"Where are you hiding Chase?" I looked under the desk.
"Why would I be hiding Chase here?" She frowned, folding her arms.
I glared at her, "you tell me. You've been all over him."
It was the other way.
I just wanted to piss her off
"And?"
She stopped when the back of her thigh touched the teachers desk.
"Why the fuck would you want someone who stuffs his dick in anything. Someone who doesn't value you." I frowned, watching her sit on the desk, folding her arms.
"And you'd be mad when I call you jealous." She raised her eyebrow.
"I'm not jealous." I stated, placing my hands on each side of her thigh. "Actually, I know the game you're playing."
Her eyes widened.
I smirked, nodding. "Mhm-hmm."
She furrowed her eyebrow
"It's about me, isn't it?" I placed my hand on her thigh, pushing it under her gown a bit. "You're trying to get to me."
"Is it working?" She asked lowly, placing her hand on mine, pushing it inside by an inch, only to hold it there.
My jaw ticked.
"Try harder. Not with Chase." I told her, my lips inches away from meeting hers.
She moved forward, pushing my hand out of her gown. Her eyes bore into mine as she placed her hand on my chest.
"What if it's not me?" She said lowly, trailing her hand down. "What if you're the one trying hard to get noticed by me, creating fake scenarios so you could be close to me?"
My eyes darkened, my nails digging into the side of her thighs.
"It's all in your head, Kinky."
She looked like a whole different person when she chuckled darkly. "So you're saying I don't affect you, Ryder?"
The way my name rolled off her tongue made my breath hitch. I clenched my jaw, trying to hold myself together.
How was she doing this?
"You don't." I sneered, keeping a blank facial expression.
All my composure flew out of the window when she cupped my length through my trouser, massaging it with her small palm through the fabric.
My head fell to her shoulder, soft breathes leaving my lips.
"Mhmm..." She whispered in my ear, making my eyes grow dark. My nail dug deeper, possessively.
"Lies, Ryder. You're such a bloody liar." She sang.
My hand circled around her neck, bringing her face closer. A soft gasp left her lips, her eyes shimmering with desire...
For me.
I opened my mouth to say something when a loud bang was heard from the door.
Bam!
Bam!!
Bam!!!
Shit.
