Chapter 19 Babysitter

Chapter 19 Babysitter
Ryder's POV

"Outside. Now."

My voice was sharp and cold.

My blood boiled from anger.

I was done playing blind.

How would you explain that a good girl with no bad record suddenly turns bad, ruining everything - by herself??

It didn't make sense.

Sure, people change... But not Uriel.

Okay, maybe Uriel.

Because what the fuck was that poem?

That was an anger for another day anyway.

"Ah, coming to ask for my advice on how to get the girl?" Dennis yelled loud, earning laughters from the students in the cafeteria.

Yeah.

He called for it.

Hitting his chest hard with my palm, I dragged him up. He was all slim and no freaking weigh to even resist.

Like sand fucking paper.

"Yo! Let go, man. Are you - Oof!" He groaned loudly once slammed against the locker.

Glaring daggers at him, I placed my arms on his chest, pinning him to the locker.

He wriggled all he wanted but he wasn't strong enough for me.

"Speak." My tone was calm, but dangerous.

He creased his forehead in confusion, looking at me.

"Uriel."

Only saying her name, tripled my anger.

"You fucking know what you did, moron! You know." I pulled him forward a bit only to slam him hard against the locker.

People had gathered around, watching us.

"I don't know what you're talking about man. Whatever you saw was exactly what happened. Are you disappointed because you thought she was some goody two shoe?" Dennis smirked cockily.

Not for too long.

"Since we're in the era of spilling secrets then, would you like to tell everyone how you get your grades?" My voice was audible enough to hear.

His smirk fell. His eyes hard.

"What do you mean? Don't we all just read and sit for exam for we to be graded?"

He was trying to play smart.

"Is that really all for you, Dennis?" My smile was dark. "Are you saying that you don't -"

"Ryder!" His eyes widened in panic. "What do you want man?"

"You don't want anyone to know that you fuck Ms. Laila, our wonderful exam and record officer, for manipulated grade, huh?" This time, I lowered my voice so that only the both of us could hear.

His eyes widened, his mouth falling open in shock.

"How did - I don't know what you're -"

"Okay then. I'll just leave it for student to investigate then." I released him, turning to the curious crowd.

Before I would open my mouth to say something - no shit. I was actually going to say it and drop my proof in 2 days time to back it up.

"I'll stay away from her, man. Please!" Dennis pulled me to face him.

"Only that?"

My face was hard. My expression unreadable.

I tried to make sure of it, keeping my anger at bay.

Deep down, I just wanted to tighten my hand around his neck. Watch him struggle to breathe and finally give up the ghost.

Dark, I know.

But he deserved it.

She deserved to be in school too.

"What else do you want?" He frowned, confusion laced in his voice.

I took a threatening step forward, my eyes boring into his.

"The name."

He raised his eyebrow. "The name of who?"

Furiously, I gripped his shirt, "Don't fucking play dumb with me, Dennis. Give me the name of the fucking person that put you up to this."

"But I already told you I was not going to touch her anymore! She's all yours, man." He eyed me in disgust.

"Unfortunately, that's not enough. Time's ticking, motherfucker." I slammed his back to the locker again. His face squeezed, his eyes closing shut.

"It's Emma. Emma Kennedy. Her sister. She's the one behind all of this." He tried to push me off him but I wouldn't budge.

Of course, it was all her.

I wasn't even a bit surprised at the revelation

But I only had one question ...

Why?

"You're going to expose her, Dennis. I'm not fucking playing with you." I frowned.

"I already told you everything you asked. I can't expose her. She has her way of doing things man." He tried to explain. "Just let it slide."

I couldn't just let it slide.

He didn't understand.

"Then maybe, I'll make you a scapegoat so she can get the message." I patted his chest, releasing his shirt from my grip.

"Wait!" He yelled, holding my shirt by the hem. "I have something against her."

I tried to move forward, but he jumped to my front.

"I'm sending it to you. Check your phone." He brought out his phone, his fingers tapping hard on the screen.

I didn't even bother how to ask him how he had my number.

The students in this school were weird.

My phone pinged in my pocket, alerting me of a new message.

Eyeing him skeptically, I brought it out. My eyes widened in surprise for a split second, my lips turning into a smirk.

"I'll keep this." I told him, slipping my phone into my pocket.

"And... And my secret?" He asked, blocking my path.

"Just make sure this shit dies down before Uriel gets back." I told him, shoving him out of my way.

"What are you all fuckers looking at?!" I heard him yell in frustration at the students.

I may not have gotten him to expose Emma but I held her darkest secrets.

At least, few of it.

It was an eyesore.

But I had a feeling it would come in handy.

"Hey man!" Peter called out to me, rushing to meet up with me.

I looked around for Mason but didn't find him.

"Mason is in detention. Mrs Kat ..."

I chuckled. "Still mad at him for tossing her cat?"

"Very much. That lady sure can hold grudges." Peter chuckled. "It's been long we hung out, bro. Think we could do that later today?"

I scratched the back of my neck. "Uhhh... I can't."

"Why? Are you avoiding us?" Peter frowned slightly.

I placed my hand on his shoulder, sighing softly. "Trust me, it's not like that. I already promised Aunty Karina that I was going to put the new babysitter through."

"Oh."

"Yeahhh. So, I'll see you soon?" Patting his shoulder, I left the school premises.

And no, I wasn't done for the day.

Yes, I was breaking school rules.

I cared less about this fucking school anyway.

"Mr. Connell!!!!" I heard the Principal yell from his office window. Smirking, I raised the middle fingers at him.

Found my keys to my bike and zoomed off.

There was no time I sat on this bike that I didn't remember Uriel.

It was definitely her first time on a bike.

And my first time letting someone on my baby too.

Shh.

It wasn't a big deal anyway.

It could've been anyone.

Once I got into my aunt's compound, where I stay too because Mr. Connell, doesn't trust me enough to live on my own, I parked my bike at the garage.

It wasn't a very big house but it was comfortable.

And very modernized.

My aunt was aware that I didn't like people but yet she made sure I saw more of them.

It was so annoying.

"Desire?" I called out to my little cousin, waiting to hear her voice.

When I heard nothing, I walked up the stairs.

"Desi -"

My mouth stopped moving halfway, staring at the dark blue eyed girl that had been making me go batshit crazy on Dennis.

The girl that I should be mad at for writing such poem.

"Uriel?"

"Ryder?"

"Are you the -"

"Babysitter." She nodded, slowly.

Well, fuck.
