Chapter 71: Glimpse of that night
"Can I," her voice came out breathless and even voiceless. The fear of her impending doom
completely jabbing her heart as she knew she would be entirely alone in Dubai with him.
Another thought came crashing down on her mind as her subconscious alarmed her of the
worst possible outcome of him coming to know of what she did with the evidence she got
her hands on. Khaleda had asked her to act normal and not make a move until she signals
otherwise. Sheharzaad would have run away from him already. Far, far away.
"Can you?" he encouraged her to continue, shaking away her vile thoughts.
"Use the restroom," At that point, only one thought was coming in Sheharzaad's mind, and
that was to somehow go away from Shehryaar. She needed space where she could
hyperventilate easily.
"Not before telling me what's got into you,"
"Nothing," she whimpered.
"Shhh," he placed his fingers on her lips that were subtly shivering as another whimper was
on its way. As she calmed down, he fastened his forefinger underneath her chin and made
her look up, "Little lady isn't telling me what's bothering her," he muttered playfully in an
almost unnoticeable manner that made her confused whether he was playing with her or
demanding to know the explanation.
"Nothing," she shook her head and tried to scoot away from him in a manner so that he
would not notice her moving away. But he did, as then he held her arm before giving her
body a jolt, and with one quick motion, she was on his lap.
The fragrance of his manly cologne entered her nostrils.
"Please, it's inappropriate. Someone will see," she said, moving her eyes around when she
felt his chest rumbling as he blew out a chuckle.
"I will have their eyes out,"
She tried to wriggle and get up, but his hold on her remained firm, not letting her go.
"Quiet. I want you close," he whispered and caressed his thumb on her fluffy cheek.
"You don't have any right to touch me!" Though fearful, she still stood firm on her statement
when she noticed his features hardening, and it told her that his face had softened before.
There was little to no difference in his playful face and hardened one.
"I don't like people running their tongues on me," he said sadistically in a low rumble,
"especially my woman,"
"I'm not yours," she managed to whisper.
A lopsided smirk formed on his pink lips that she wouldn't have noticed if her face was not
close to his.
"We will see, Sheharzaad. We will see," he uttered as his eyes dreamily bored into hers. Her
heartbeat quickened, and she averted her eyes away.
He chuckled before laying his head against the headrest as she laid there in his firm,
unescapable arms. Fixing her head against his chest, he closed his eyes, feeling a sense of
utter peace encompassing him.
She sat there scared, not having the courage to move a limb as a few moments elapsed. She
could hear his heartbeat as her ear was just placed above his heart.
Its beat was calm, composed, rhythmic.
While hers, being in close proximity with him, so near that his hot breath fanned against her
cheek, had her heart go wild, erratic, and turbulent.
She felt herself at the verge of an attack as the position alone brought nerve-wracking
memories to her head.
Flashback
In his built-in room, within the office, after they both had taken the shower, she was
hurriedly wearing her clothes thinking he was going to let her go whilst he was busy drying
his hair with a towel.
She was halfway through buttoning up her shirt when she suddenly flinched when she felt
him placing his chin on her shoulder.
"Where do you think you are going?" He inhaled her scent, nuzzling his nose in her neck.
"G-ghar," she whispered troublesomely.
(Home)
"Not so soon," his hands raked against her arms, reaching her hand as he grasped her hand
and began to lead her to the bed. Her eyes widened upon seeing the bed coming into her
vision.
She gulped audibly.
"Sh-sh-shehryaar," she tried to grab his attention, yet he paid no heed as he sat her on the
bed before lying on the mattress.
He made her ride him, making her insides quiver as her baby grey eyes looked up at him
and then back down, suppressing a sob formed in her throat. He was shirtless, his well-built,
tattooed chest on display, making him look more daunting to her.
His eyes dreamily dropped to her plump lips, moving up to her slender nose and then
connecting with her eyes.
Her beautiful eyes.
A pair of grey that he admired.
Moving his thumb up, he traced her brow, "Where did you come from?" he lowly whispered,
but it was audible to her ears, "Where. from." He lightly stressed on his words as his half-
opened eyes looked at her.
In that moment, he felt as if he had gotten intoxicated with her scent. The pleasure she gave
him, nobody ever could.
It was more like a challenge for him instead. Sparking his interest and desire that why
wasn't this woman giving in? When he knew they worshipped the ground he walked on, yet
here, she, was not even looking at him. Never raised her eyes up for once the whole night.
Doing it occasionally when he commanded it.
He recalled the hard time she had given him during the shower, but he drove the hesitation,
resistance, and the sheer determination that was beginning to grow in her eyes again, out of
her. He knew his way around. How to bend, break, and mold things the way he wanted. The
way he liked. The way he was taught.
With a flash, suddenly he was hovering above her, and with the intensity his eyes stared
back, he made his intentions clear to her.
She stifled a sob but failed as her lips pouted and a cry erupted through her lips.
His one hand held the hem of her trouser as he rubbed it between his thumb and
forefingers, "Remove it."
