Chapter 562
Chapter 562
Harper was full of worry before meeting Molly.
But now, not a bit of it remained.
She felt completely at ease with Molly, believing that since she had this mindset, she definitely wouldn't be deceived and hurt again like what happened with Arthur before.
Harper felt relieved, and Molly started picking out invitations again.
Both individuals avoided mentioning Nick any further. He remained occupied with making plans for Molly's return to the public eye, and at the same time, he assisted with the tasks related to organizing the marriage ceremony.
His dedication was so impressive that Harper wanted to give him an award.
At the same time, Harper's mood quietly relaxed quite a bit.
After getting used to not being swamped with work every day, she even had the leisure to watch the drama unfold.
On one hand, watching Gerald eagerly preparing to be a groom.
On the other hand, watching Nick, who had been sent over as a 'spy' by Lucas and had already gained their full trust, Harper began secretly looking forward to what kind of show Lucas had planned for the wedding day.
Harper didn't believe Lucas was the type to quietly wait on the sidelines.
The wedding scene was bound to be quite lively.
Her attitude of secretly enjoying the drama was naturally caught by Molly, who said helplessly, "You used to worry about me, but now you're just here for the entertainment? Aren't you afraid they'll make things difficult for me?"
"If it were before, I'd definitely worry, but now..." Harper drew out her tone, teasing, "Since you're the one who wants to pick someone better, I have no reason to stop you, so I can only wait and watch the show."
Molly's face flushed at her words.
But she didn't deny it. She continued looking at the comeback arrangements Nick had prepared these past few days.
Time kept ticking away.
The wedding was already being rushed, plus Gerald wanted to settle things quickly.
With help from professional teams and Gerald's money offensive, the wedding day soon arrived.
That day, the place was packed.
Prior to the arrival of the invited individuals, correspondents from multiple printed publications and entertainment divisions had already taken up their positions, with the sole purpose of obtaining the most striking photographic images.
After all, this was the wedding of Molly, who had suddenly left the industry and disappeared, with mysterious reasons behind it all.
The moment they saw the luxurious wedding venue, everyone was shocked again.
Although Molly had left the industry, she had appeared in the public eye twice.
Once when Molly was suddenly kidnapped, and another time when two big shots fought over Molly in front of live cameras - that was when Gerald tried to propose via livestream and ended up fighting with Arthur.
Though neither incident was related to the entertainment industry.
Yet this type of report, which contained clear elements of rumor and secrecy, drew a great deal of public interest and appeared as the main story on every occasion.
No one expected that the next news about Molly would be something as explosive as marriage.
There was also the fact that this exceptionally extravagant marriage ceremony, considered the most important of the current era, included a very large number of influential people circulating within it...
It made Molly's already mysterious background even more intriguing.
The reporters were the most excited.
When this information became known to the public, it would certainly be the main story for the following day. The level of excitement and discussion surrounding this marriage ceremony would be something never seen before.
If they could capture some explosive news, it would be like adding fuel to fire - the attention and traffic would be obviously huge.
Many business elites came for Gerald.
With regard to certain powerful figures in the show business field, they received invitations due to reports that Molly would be returning to the public eye in the near future.
The entire wedding venue was like a huge social climbing scene.
Everyone was busy networking and making connections, having a great time.
Harper had not anticipated that, even at this stage, Nick would continue to be entirely undisturbed, as he circulated among the gathering and energetically secured financial backing and monetary contributions for Molly.
In the blink of an eye, he had already secured five very suitable paid offers for Molly.
She secretly gave him a thumbs up.
Although this person's background wasn't entirely reassuring.
Lucas possessed a genuine ability to judge individuals accurately. Having a representative of this nature accompanying Molly meant that there was no worry about her failing to achieve great success in the time ahead.
Harper kept observing the wedding scene with great interest.
Caden's cool voice drifted over, "What are you looking for?"
"Looking for Lucas." Harper answered without thinking, "If Lucas doesn't show up soon, it'll be too late. After all the mental preparation I did, he's not really planning to not come, is he?"
Caden let out two cold laughs, the threatening meaning in his tone becoming even more obvious.
Harper finally understood what Caden meant.
So he was a bit jealous...
She pivoted to face him again, gave him a look that expressed a lack of power to change things, moved her head from side to side without speaking, yet she silently shifted her eyes away from the other individuals present.
She calmly told Caden, "I'm thinking, whether it's Lucas or Gerald, neither of them looks as good as you."
Caden's dark gaze slowly drifted away.
In its place, a slight smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
Harper sighed. Since she couldn't look at other men, she might as well just watch Molly.
She turned to start looking for Molly's figure.
But after looking for a while, her facial expression grew solemn. The marriage ceremony on this day was intended to feature Molly as the primary focus, so what was the reason that she was not visible in any location?
The wedding venue only had guests left.
Both Molly and Gerald, the hosts, were nowhere to be found.
Lucas also hadn't shown up yet.
Harper's expression suddenly became grave.
Something was wrong.
She signaled Caden to watch the surroundings while she quickly called Molly.
The telephone emitted a sound on just one occasion, and then Molly promptly ended the call. Harper's mind became full of doubt, yet in the following moment she got a written message from Molly.
The message was brief: [Second floor lounge, come quickly.]
"I'll be right back."
Caden rose as well to keep watch over the individuals who were on the ground level, instructing Harper, "Take care, and keep communicating."
"I will."
She quickly hurried to the sitting area located on the level above. Following a careful push to open the entrance, she felt somewhat surprised upon observing the situation within.
Inside were Molly, along with Noah and Chloe.
Only Lucas was missing.
"What is happening?" She remained positioned at the entrance, watching Molly with a careful expression. "What is the reason that you are in this place by yourself? Where is Gerald, and also where are both he and Lucas?"
Molly shook her head.
At this moment, Chloe spoke up, saying warmly to Harper, "Ms. Orsini, Noah and I just came to see Ms. Reyes. You saved me before, and since Ms. Reyes is your good friend, she's our friend too."
But Harper didn't relax because of this.
She knew full well that these two cornering Molly here was definitely not a good thing.
She narrowed her eyes and asked, "As far as I know, now isn't a good time for thanks. If you want to make friends, why not wait until after the wedding?"
"Ms. Orsini, this is the situation," Noah, who was positioned next to her, immediately interjected. "The reason we sought out Ms. Reyes on this day is specifically due to the matter of the wedding."
He became much more serious in his attitude toward Harper and Molly, saying solemnly, "Chloe and I are here today on behalf of my brother Lucas to propose to Ms. Reyes. "Provided that Ms. Reyes agrees, we are able to organize another marriage ceremony of the same size at this very moment, and it will certainly not cause any postponement to Ms. Reyes's intentions regarding her wedding."
