Chapter 109
Sometimes I would cook nutritious porridge for her clumsily in the suite kitchen with fresh ingredients just bought from the supermarket; other times I would bring handmade pastries from local time–honored brands.
During this time, in order to not worry his mom and Lucian, Andrea and them had a few video calls, putting on a brave face and saying he was having a great time abroad.
That afternoon, Andrea was sitting alone by the floor–to–ceiling window in the hotel suite when she suddenly called Quinn.
“Quinn, I want to go home.”
Quinn’s voice came through the phone without hesitation.
“Okay, I’ll come pick you up now.
In less than half an hour, his black Maybach was parked steadily in front of the hotel.
The moment he saw Andrea, he quickly walked up and gently wrapped her hand in his palm.
“Let’s go, we’re going home.”
When I pushed open the door, the crystal chandelier in the entrance hall cast a soft light.
Scarlett peeked out from the kitchen wearing an apron, with a big smile on her face.

“Andie, Quinn, you guys are back!”
Andrea reached out and took Scarlett’s arm.
“Mom, what are you doing in the kitchen?”
After marrying Lucian, Scarlett had already been pampered into a wealthy lady who didn’t lift a finger.
“Quinn called ahead and said you guys were coming back today, so Mom thought she’d make some soup to nourish you.”
Lucian in the living room heard a noise, put down the newspaper and walked over, his eyes scanning Andrea’s slightly tired face.
“Why do you look so pale? Did you not eat well abroad?”
Andrea forced a smile.
“Maybe the jet lag didn’t get reversed.”
Scarlett turned to look at Quinn, her future son–in–law, and she was more and more pleased as she looked.
“Quinn was thoughtful as always. Andie got scared, and without saying a word, he dropped everything and took her abroad to relax.”
“In the future, when Andie marries you, we parents will also be relieved.”
Quinn laughed subtly.
“These are things I should have done, and the engagement banquet, we the Shillingford family also have a responsibility.”
“It’s because we didn’t plan properly that the accident happened. Thanks to Auntie and Lucian for giving me a chance to make up for

it.”
Scarlett patted his shoulder.
“Silly child, how could it be your fault? It’s Yun Ding’s carelessness, don’t blame yourself.”
“Talking about this,” Lucian frowned, “we can’t consider places with safety hazards like this in the future.”
“Thankfully no one got hurt, otherwise it would have been a real mess.”
Andrea mechanically nodded along, listening to her parents complain about this and that.
Suddenly, Scarlett’s words brought her drifting thoughts back.
“Roderick’s wedding is almost set, we were planning to have his engagement banquet at Genting Highlands before, but it looks like we have to change that now.”
Andrea’s hand holding the water cup suddenly tightened, and the water droplets on the cup’s wall slipped into the sleeve.
“Is my older brother going to have an engagement banquet too?”
“Yeah!”
Scarlett didn’t notice anything unusual about her daughter.
“Did you know Ms. Turner went all the way to another country to be with your brother? She really likes him, have you seen them together?”
Andrea’s throat tightened, and a smile uglier than crying tugged at the corners of her mouth.

“Of course…seen it.‘
Scarlett was still basking in her own joy.
“This is great, you two siblings are celebrating together, so lively!”
As soon as the words fell, Quinn’s phone suddenly vibrated.
He glanced down at the screen, “It was my mom calling.”
