Chapter 182. Together forever

Alana

“Why did we stop?” I asked fearfully. We were in the middle of the road, on a dirt road that was in the middle of a dark forest. I remembered that road as being the day Sedrik kidnapped me and made our whole story begin.

That day, when I was traveling with my aunt from Belmont to Fastfall on that rainy and dark day, in the middle of that road, the horses refused to continue galloping and dragging Aunt Mag's carriage. That day, the hooded man was standing still in the middle of the road, intercepting us with a cynical smile on his lips.

It was that day when it all started, and now as I was leaving, there was again a hooded man in the there, creating our barrier.

“That doesn't make any sense,” Skylar commented, frowning. “This area of the forest is uninhabitable, it is neither part of the country of witches nor of wolves. There shouldn’t be anyone intercepting us like that.”

I hugged my child protectively, panting softly. I couldn't deny that it was a little scary, especially because the dangers were everywhere. “Is it someone who wants to harm us…?” I stammered, afraid.

But Skylar clicked her tongue dismissively. “Don't look so scared, Alana,” she said. “At most, it should just be a human who wants to steal our things. That's a despicable species! I’m going to go and chase him away.” She was getting out of the carriage.

“Be careful, dear,” I told her, still wary.

She smiled at me. “Why would I need to be careful if I’m traveling alongside a witch as powerful as you?” She said it, making me smile. Then, from inside the Carriage, I heard her talking to the coachman. “Why did you stop?” She asked the man.

“The horses are no longer obeying me, madam,” the coachman said hesitantly.

I panted hotly, my breath steaming out of my mouth because of the cold temperatures at that moment. Were the horses no longer obeying the coachman? How so? My gaze quickly went to the hooded figure that was still a few meters away in the middle of the road, still blocking our path.

“What do you mean?” Skylar asked, confused. “What would be controlling the horses, anyway..?” She thought, but immediately she took her gaze to the man in the middle of the road, realizing who he was. At the same time, I also realized.

“Sedrik,” we both said at the same time, but my voice came out as a whisper. Only a powerful being could have as much control over animals as alphas had. And not to mention that I had already lived that moment, it was like déjà vu. He and I had already been in the same place, although in completely different situations.

Alpha Sedrik walked slowly towards us slowly, approaching the carriage. His decisive steps and his unparalleled figure made it seem as if he were about to change the course of history, just as he had changed the course of my story more than a year ago.

“Alpha Sedrik..?” Skylar spluttered. “What a surprise to see you here. What brings you here, anyway? We are in the middle of the trip, and it is very cold here. If you don’t mind, could you let us continue with our trip?”

But Sedrik continued to walk slowly. “I know you have something that belongs to me, she-wolf,” he said to Skylar, but his gaze was on my window. I gasped at that look in his eyes. What was he doing? We had already talked about this, right? We had already resolved everything, so what was he doing here? "Hi, my dearest woman." He smiled at me like a maniac.

I swallowed hard. What was he doing? Had he changed his mind and been coming with me in the end?

“Forgive me, Alpha Sedrik,” Skylar said. “But you have already made your decision. Now open the way and let us pass.”

“Nevermind!” Sedrik growled as his eyes locked on mine, becoming red.

And the next thing I knew, he ripped off the Carriage door, grabbed me tightly, transformed into a huge wolf, and then ran through the forest with me on his back.

A while later, I was in the cave where it all started. Now I was putting my little girl to bed while Sedrik prepared our dinner. He had also lit the fireplace to ward off the cold.

“Are you sure we’re safe here? Last time, there were orcs everywhere,” I asked him.

“Even if they already showed up, I'm sure they wouldn't mess with us. Especially with you, your fame has spread across this vast continent,” he said to me while roasting meat. “If they saw you, they would be afraid of you and run away.” he was giggling.

“By the gods! I don't want to scare people,” I said with a grimace of disgust. My baby, who wasn't sleepy, looked at my disgusted face and started laughing, thinking it was funny. “Where are you laughing at me? For the gods' sake! Like father, like daughter,” I grumbled.

“The meat is ready, come eat,” Sedrik invited, and I went to him excitedly, leaving the girl to play with her toys.

“Hmm, that's look so good,” I said when I was at the table while he cut up a hunk of meat and placed it on my plate.

“I made it especially for you,” he said. “I'm inspired to cook today,” he smiled at me as he sat down next to me and ate with me. Smiles and jokes were exchanged between us, and the atmosphere was light and pleasant, as if we were finally happy and at peace.

“You weren’t going to let me go anyway, were you?” I asked him after a while.

He wiped his mouth with the table cloth and held my hand across the table. “You and I are connected, we can't just separate,” he said, smiling at me.

My heart was pounding, and I was moved by his words. “But what about all those problems that surround us? How does it all look?” I asked, unable to ignore that fact. I really wanted this to be like a fairy tale where he and I would be happy forever with no problems.

He was still looking sweetly at me. “It’s time for us to give a fuck, babe,” he said. “I can't just let you go because letting you go means letting my happiness go.”

I smiled at him, realizing that was true. Sedrik was right. I knew that I wouldn't be able to be happy while I was away from him. I got up and went to sit on his lap, hugging him and closing my eyes. “No matter what happens, promise me that we will always be together,” I said to him as I felt his hands caressing my back as he returned my hug.

“I don’t need to promise that, my love. You know we will always be together,” he said to me, making me smile.

I looked at him at that moment, which was so significant for us. “I love you, Alpha Sedrik,” I said with that certainty that was in my heart.

“I love you more, my beloved witch,” he said, smiling at me, then we kissed in the warmth of confirmation of our eternal love.

“What do you think about Athena?” He asked me as he looked at me, and then I returned his gaze to where our daughter was playing with her toys. “What do you think of this name for her? This name means a lot to me, it belonged to my mother, a great warrior who at this moment rests in the arms of the goddess,” he said, and I couldn't be more emotional.

“Athena is a beautiful name,” I said with a smile, finally feeling complete.

The end

FINAL PROVISIONS

My dear readers, there are no words to thank you for coming this far and following this enchanting love story. I am very grateful to all of you for spending your time and coins on this work that I did with a lot of love. This work has come to an end, but as the charming fictional world of Alana and Sedrik still lives on, I will be working with the platform team so that I can bring the other books from the same franchise here.

I quote:

Book 2.

It will tell the story of the continuation of Sedrik and Alana, following the book that the reader has just read. In this book, the romance between the protagonists will develop through various intrigues, epic battles and the development of creatures in the fictional world that the characters call “the vast continent”.

Book 3.

This book will take place a few years in the future, bringing the spotlight to Athena, the daughter of Alana, and Sedrik, the true heir of the Luna pack. If you know Alana and her husband, Sedrik, then you can bet that their offspring will have a similar personality to their parents, a mix of the two, carrying their father's strength and their mother's intelligence. She will be a real badass. And not to mention that the romance will be divided between the fae fiancé that is promised to her and the romances that she develops along the way. Epic adventure and intrigue await us in this book.

Book 4.

This book will take place years in the past, in the very first generation, focusing on Trinity, not Maya's daughter, but the Trinity who is Alana's mother. In this book, we will find out where Alana's peculiar powers came from and who is really her father, since in the first book, Alana only knows that her parents died when she was very young. But did the parents really die by accident? Are they really dead? How did Alana's parents fall in love, and what involvement did Aunt Mag have in this whole case?

Honestly, you really can't leave this book off your shelf.

****

However, as the author of this exciting franchise, I want to thank all of you who have given so much love and support to my work.

See you next time!
