Chapter 87
Chapter 87
Emeralds POV
I watched as Calista went around and fluttered from item to item in each store. She especially loved home decor items. That was her favorite items to buy. There were so many small trinkets in her little bag that she had ended up getting two to three bags to fill those up as well. I smiled with my dress and a couple small items I found that were little trinkets of my own. They were a cute little teapot set. I don't know why I had to have them but I did. They were so intractely made. They were made with real gold with soft pastel colors except for the lid. The lid was bright red which made it stand out from all the items that were around it.
After what felt like hours of shopping, she asked me if I was ready to leave and of course I said yes. I let her flash us back to Jeremy's house on Mendel only to sadly find that he wasn't home yet. I decided to put my trinkets away but realized here I didn't really have any of my stuff here on his island. I sighed.
"What is wrong Emerald?" asked Calista.
"Nothing." I said.
"Something is. People do not just sigh out of nowhere." She said.
"I just realize that none of my stuff is here and that this isn't really my house. I have no right technically to put anything anywhere." I explained.
"That is not true. This house is just as much yours as it is Jeremy's. You know that do you not? He would not want to hear you talk like that. You can put anything where you want too. You can rearrange the whole house if you wanted to and he would not care. He loves you very much and just wants you happy." Calista said as she gestured to his living space.
I shrugged. "I don't know what I want to do. I told him that my work and everything is on earth. So we moved into his house on the human realm. But now that I'm here I don't want to leave here either. I love both houses so much. They are both beautifully designed." I said.
"Thank you my dear. When my son puts his mind to something he really goes all out. Now you can always visit the human realm that is not an issue. You can visit the cities and any place you want. But you can always come back here without a problem, I mean, this could be your, what do you human's call it? Home base? Correct?" She asked.
"True. That is what we call it. We can call this our home base. But then if I live here full time where do I put these?" I asked.
I showed her my trinkets that I bought.
"Anywhere you want. The kitchen, living room, pick a spot." Calista said.
"Um, okay." I said and thought it over. After a couple minutes I said, "I want to have like a curio cabniet, kind of like some where I can put my stuff or things that I would like to display."
"Oooh, I have just the spot and the look for what you might like." Calista said. She looked at the kitchen and took her hands and without saying a single word spread out where there was wall space to put a beautiful ornate black oak carved wooden curio cabniet built into the kitchen wall.
I went over to it and took my hand and ran it down the carved wood. I spoke softly, "Wow, its beautiful."
"You are very welcome my dear. I put in lights too so that it can stay lit even at night. This way your trinkets are displayed twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Trust me that if you two do have a wedding like they do in the human realm, you might get wedding gifts then where would those go? That is why I made it as big as I did." She said.
"Well, thank you. It is breathtaking." I said.
I put my trinkets on the top shelf right in the middle so that they were proudly displayed. Then I said, "Mrs. Thorn are you hungry?"
"Um, I could eat. Why my dear?" She asked.
"I can cook for us and the guys. What would you like? I can cook pretty much anything you want. Just name it." I said as I started to open up the fridge and cabniets and seeing what he had in there.
"I love some home made chinese food. How about that?" She said then snapped her fingers and all the ingredients appeared on the counter.
I gasped.
"Sorry dear. Um, I did not mean to frighten you. I have to remember you are not used to people doing so much magic around you. But I figured this would be easier than trying to search his cabniets for the ingredients. Now it is all right here. If you do not mind I also put the ingredients to make home made egg rolls."
She said.
"But I don't know how to make home made egg rolls." I said.
"I can teach you." She said.
So there we were making egg rolls together in Jeremy's kitchen just the two of us when she asked me about a wedding.
"Um, I don't know I guess I haven't thought about a wedding. I am find with just the mating bond." I said.
"Oh. I would still like to have one. It has been years since I have been to a wedding. Are you sure?" She asked.
"I just don't want Jeremy being uncomfortable." I said.
"Being uncomfortable with what?" He suddenly asked from behind me.
I screamed throwing my eggroll in the air. He caught it with ease as the men started appearing around us one by one in clean clothes and no armour. Calista didn't even bat an eye just kept making egg rolls.
"Don't do that!" I said loudly.
He laughed as he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me to him.
I gave him a hug as I smiled. "How is your charge?"
"He is okay for now. Thank you for asking. We still took him to the human hospital though just to be sure he wasn't having any seizures or anything." He said, "Now be uncomfortable with what?"
"A wedding." said Calista.
I looked at her like she was crazy.
"If you want a wedding I'll do it." He said without missing a beat.
"But Jeremy--" I started.
"It's okay. I want to do it." He said.
"Yeah!!! I get to plan a wedding!!!" yelled Theo.
"Who said you get to?" said Calista.
"I can help too, can't I?" Theo asked me with hands put together in prayer.
"Yes you can." I said.
"Yeah! Ooh girl I know exactly what I want for you." said Theo.
"We will have time to discuss it." said Calista with a fork in Theo's face.
"Yes, ma'm." said Theo nodding at her.
"Now, Emerald, why earlier when I was out did I feel that you were unhappy?" asked Jeremy.
