Chapter 172 The life she missed out on I
Edward opened the door ignoring Boyle's question.
Boyle couldn’t believe this.
“Did you cause the accident that killed your son?” Boyle roared.
“I didn’t know! It was meant for Adison." He roared back. “I didn’t know you both would take the car. If I knew I wouldn’t have touched it. But it worked right? My son would have stood by me still just as Eva did.”
“Is that what you used to make yourself feel better? Guess whose name he screamed when the car crashed into the trailer. It was yours!!”
Edward’s staggered. “If only he knew his father killed him.”
Edward’s eyes glistened. “He slammed the door shut and walked out.
Boyle's breath shook. How could he?
Anderson had been warm, joyful, and strong. His life was cut short by his fathers greedy choices. He looked at the screen. He saw his brother standing out on the balcony looking out to the night sky. “Still fucking lonely.”
Shortly after he saw the little girl come out to meet him. Boyle swallowed hard. Eva appeared through the door and wrapped a hand around his torso.
He turned around and walked towards his bed. There was a slight tap on the door then a paper slipped under. He got up.
After Richard arrived home. He put a call across. “Find the whereabouts of Major Vincent’s family,” he paused also. “Find out what Edward has been up to lately.” His mind hadn’t shifted from the cars he saw.
He got up and walked to the window. He slipped his hand into his pocket and touched a piece of paper.
Then the door opened Eleanor entered meekly. Her eyes were swollen like she had cried enough. She looked nothing like the prestigious poised woman who held her head up.
“Did you speak with Maverick on my behalf? I don’t know why he wants to disown me because of a who—”
“Shut up,” Richard raised his voice at her. She flinched. “You still don’t get what you did wrong ? As a mother and a woman you still don’t get it?” He sighed.
“I saw that child, Eleanor. You don’t need a DNA to know who he belongs to. Deep down you knew Maverick was the father, else why would you lie to us. To me.” He roared. “Stop trying to make yourself feel better by calling her a whore. You threw a helpless girl outside together with your grandchild deal with it and atone whichever way you can”
Color drained from her face.
“I-I was protecting the family's image..”
“You brought her here to cover your First son's shame and you threw her out to cover your Second son's shame. No family is perfect Ely. Maverick has to carry the guilt of denying his son when he didn’t. You were mean to her for no reason. You projected your grief on her…she was just a girl and a victim”
Tears poured from her eyes. “I’m sorry..” she cried.
Richard walked up to his wife, slipped his hand out of his pocket and pulled her in a hug. The paper fell to the ground. The wind blew it under the shelf.

Days passed, Everything was going peacefully with no interruptions. With the engagement just a few days away, Heaven felt uneasy. Today was her fit check. Samantha came along with her.
“Do they bother you?” Samantha asked Heaven as they both sat in the car. Heaven looked at the side mirror for the umpteenth time. The black SUV with the guards Fabian had assigned to follow her.
She shook her head. But her face said a different thing.
“Girl, I know they do. I would be bothered too if I have them following me around everywhere I go. Tell Fabian you don’t like it.” Samantha said.
“It makes him comfortable. I don’t want to make him feel bad or like I’m doing something I’m not supposed to be doing. And they are protecting me,” Heaven said looking down at her laps while her hand wriggled with the ring.
Samantha looked at her for a fleet second before turning back to face the road. “If you don’t like something, say it. It’s left for him to fix his insecurities. Stop inconveniencing yourself for others Vera. Can you do that?”
Samantha called her name. Because that is who she is. Not Vera.
Heaven nodded.
Samantha parked the car by the side of the road. She turned fully to Heaven.
“Words.” She wasn’t letting her off until she spoke. From what she knew she had done a lot of sacrifices for people she is supposed to be done doing that.
“Repeat after me. I. Will. Choose. Me. First. Before. Anything else.”
Heaven bit her lips. “Liam and Rebecca exempted”
“You are going all motherhood on me huh. But seriously aside from them. Say it.” Samantha pressed.
Heaven chucked. “Fine, I will choose myself first before anything or anyone else. Happy?”
“Yes,” Samantha started the engine. “I will be happier if you abide by it.”
They entered the boutique. “Welcome ma,Do you have a reservation?” The receptionist asked.
Heaven brought out the card Fabian had given her. The receptionist went from normal to full time respectful.
The fashion designer was a man who was stylishly dressed like a woman with make up all over his face and walked like one.
“You have the tiniest waist I have ever seen, sweetheart.” He praised Heaven.
“Thank you.” She smiled at him.
“Chekas, you wouldn’t believe she has a son,” Samantha added.
“For real?” Cheka's eyes widened.
“I swear down,”
“I bet she would have killed it those days of low rise jeans.. damn!! The guys would be rolling around you,” Cheka teased.
“What’s a low rise jean?” Heaven asked with an awkward smile.
Chekas gave her a playful side eye. “The jeans that sit so low down on your waist..” he shook his head as if describing it would make her know it.
Heaven gave a nervous smile.
“You are young enough.. what planet have you been on.” Chekas sized her up before deciding. “We are putting you in one.”
Samantha knew Heaven had lost a full amount of her years. At eighteen she was already a wife barely for a day, a widow and then a mother who had to study.
In five minutes Heaven stood in front of the mirror in low rise jeans, a light pink crop top hugging from the top of her abdomen and above. Her hair tied up in a messy bun. A little bag hanging over her shoulders.
“O.M.G,” Chekas squealed and snapped his fingers. “It’s giving finesse ,bad bitch.. don’t mess with me vibes” he paused. “Hold on something is missing..” he opened a drawer from his vanity, a different brand of makeup arranged neatly. “Sit,”
An hour later Heaven was set.
“You are gorgeous. We are not meeting that outfit waste. We are going to have fun and get wasted” Samantha hyped. She already got dressed. Matching Heaven’s vibes. Like girls in the early 2000s.
“I have to pick Liam and Rebecca up from school..” Heaven protested.
Samantha picked up her phone and typed on it. “Done. Rayan will do that. Let’s moveeeee” Samantha said, taking her hand and pulling her towards the door.
Samantha paused suddenly. She turned to Chekas “We need a little favour,” she blinked.
