Chapter 22 Twenty two

Chapter 22 Twenty two

l

Astra's POV.

I didn't have much to say besides the fact that there were a lot of things that we shall have put into perspective from the start but I blindly believed that everything was going to be all right and now that it was in there was already beating myself up for it.

"It's not because I just wanted to kill him."

Vincent was also trying to deflect to make me look like I was paranoid when the truth was in front of me I'm telling me that it was almost like I was acting crazy.

How on earth was that even going to be possible when he knew that I loved this man with every fiber of my being at a point in time?

"Do I see shame on your face? Is this what you and my brother go about doing, intimidating others simply because they don't follow what you want them to do? At some point you are bound to get tired so what's the fun in that?"

I was knocking on a door that he was not willing to open in the first place so it was going to take longer before he realized the kind of person he was messing with or else he would have found in the to get rid of all the stress that was about to be dumped on him.

I didn't have much choices now when it came to things like this because I was hoping that I would be able to handle many things and also deal with it when necessary.

There was no need for us to keep lying to ourselves that there was no problem when I could already see the issues on ground I'm looking for ways to just wipe it off.

It was very crazy that he thought that one the audio he would be able to get away with it and that I was not going to do anything about it because at what point did I look like a fool to him?

"Of course there has to be a reason why I did that but honestly speaking I don't want to take glory for it."

I looked him in the eyes and burst into laughter. It was easy for him to apologize now because I was demanding it but not because he truly felt sorry for what he did to that person.

That person had only cheated on me but did not deserve to be treated in that manner and I was not going to stand for it to no matter what.

"You might see me as a monster but that's not even the case at all I can't tell you that for free. It was a poor judgment of my part and I really I'm sorry for my actions." He apologized.

He wasn't apologizing because he felt sorry for Cole. He was apologizing because he had not made it as clean as possible without traces.

That made me wonder in this world what exactly was real and what was I just passing off to myself as real. There seemed to be a lot of layers attached and I was naively thinking that it was all rainbows and horses without knowing that many things were just going wrong.

If Vincent was not going to tell me the truth and there was no need for me to continue this conversation with him and I will just admit to myself that I have lost.

"Since we want to go about lying to each other then there's no need for you to talk to me or try to make things better because I'm only going to see you as a liar that you are." I told him.

His mouth opened and close but he couldn't say anything instead he just kept looking at me I'm wondering if this was going to be a disaster or there was going to be even more to this than necessary.

"You have many things on your mind and that includes dealing with it with so much passion. I want you to be okay with whatever the circumstance might be. If you need me to punch your brother maybe I might consider that." He joked.

There was nothing funny about the fact that he had lied to me and made me feel safe in his arms without knowing that he was also just like my brother.

They were going to put themselves first over anybody but in this case I was too very confused why he thought that it would be safe to kill a man that had done nothing to him.

It wasn't because of anything sake. It was because he was just me trying to come to terms with the fact that there was a lot more that needed to be dealt with.

"I'm ready to tell you one day but I don't think that the time is right and if all of those things have not been settled I don't want you to land in more problems."

"What if his family comes knocking and finding out that you killed their brother?" I demanded from him, it was easy for him to say that it was just trying to protect me but I knew that there was a deeper reason.

"His family would never say any of those things because I would shut them up before they even have the right to come closer." He bragged.

A little signal and he turned heading over to his house. I knew it was his house because I had never seen this route in my entire life and the last time that I was at his place was when I was 18 so I could still make out a few outlets but that did not take the entire experience away from me

"Look I know that I'm the worst person right now on Earth in your eyes but that doesn't mean that your brother and I am not ready to help you out of whatever situation you've gotten yourself into. I'm going to deal with mortis. Your brother has refused to take my money for reasons best known to him."

An idea flipped on in my head as I looked at him. "Why don't you give me the money then and let's see what I can be able to bring out of it?"

He looked at me again just to be sure that he was talking to a real person. "I mean there are a lot of things that could have made him reject all of your offers and I don't know why but I'm sure that we can meet at a balance right? We can make sure that he suddenly doesn't have any reason to sell me off." I suggest a book of see that I was not articulating my words properly.

He looked at me with sadness in his gaze. "Sadly they are only a few negotiation that work in the underworld."
