Chapter 121: Rageful jealousy
Allison's POV
"Hi, baby," I whispered, as Aiden winked an eye open, breath ragged and croaked.
Caressing his face, I smiled at him. "How are you feeling, my love?"
The heart transplant surgery had been carried out on him yesterday, and he was only just regaining his consciousness.
Aiden opened his mouth but nothing came out as he gazed at me.
"Rest, baby. You can talk to me later," I said, properly covering him with his blanket. "Thanks for living for mummy."
In response, he gave me a faint smile before drifting back to sleep, the web of machines that was connected to him, beeping at a uniformed pace.
A knock came on the door then. "Come in." I said, presuming it was either the doctor or Tasha.
To my utter surprise and annoyance, Leo strutted in, hands pocketed, and a smile plastered to his face.
"Why are you here?" I asked, throwing him a nasty glare. "What do you want?"
"I want to see our son." Leo replied, looking over my at Aiden's sleeping form.
"My son, Leo. Correct yourself," I snapped then inhaled deeply. "I don't want to yell because my son is sleeping."
"Let's face it, Allison. Aiden is my son just as much as he's yours. I'm his biological father and you can't change that no matter how much you hate me," Leo retorted. "We can take this to court if you want."
My heart sank. "What? Are you threatening to take my son away from me? Is that how cheap you are? If you think paying for his surgery gives you the right to claim him, then you thought wrong, Leo. You fucking thought wrong!"
Leo poked his inner cheek with his tongue, and for some reason, I found it hot.
Shoving my salacious thoughts away, I glared at him, waiting for his response.
"You could have at least told me that I had a kid," He said. "You kept me away from him for five good years. Is that good?"
I couldn't believe my ears at his stupid utterance. "And why would I? Have you forgotten what happened between us? How you tossed me aside like trash to get married? How you treated me like a slut, I mean sure, you paid to fuck me, but you didn't exactly treat me like a human. Did you think I'd be ecstatic to tell you about him? Hell, I don't even want any connections with you!"
"I'm sorry for everything, Allison. How can I get you to forgive me and give me a second chance?" Leo asked, eyes glinting with hurt.
Ignoring the tugging on my heartstrings, I replied. "You can't, because I don't intend on doing that. I don't want you around my son and I. As for the surgery bill, I will pay you very soon. And my work contract with your company ends in six weeks, so I'll be out of your hair very soon."
"No, you can't do that because I won't allow you to," Leo said. "I will make you mine again. Just wait and see."
"Get out," I muttered. "And henceforth, you are banned from seeing my son."
Leo smirked. "We will see about that. Take care of yourself and our son, Allison."
And with that, he made his exit.
"What an egotistical bastard," I huffed to myself. "Who the hell does he think he is?"
Your first and probably last love, given how you don't want to give Max a chance. A voice from within me responded.
"What the fuck?" I asked aloud, cheeks heated up in embarrassment.

Leo's POV
"Hello, my dearest brother. How is work?" Lia singsonged. "I hope you aren't overworking yourself."
I huffed fondly, already having an inkling of the reason behind my little sister's unwarranted kind tone and overly sweet attitude.
"I'm not. How much do you need?" I asked, taking my seat on the armchair at the center of my office.
"That's harsh. Do you think I only call you for money? Sometimes, your little sister truly cares about you." She feigned a hurt tone.
"Is that so?" I asked. "So you don't need anything from me then?"
"I didn't say that," Lia said. "But I really care about you and just wanted to check up on you."
Scoffing, I said. "I will send the money to your PayPal before the day ends."
"You are the best, Leo!" She squealed. "Love you. Bye!" She said, and hung up.
"Such a case." I said fondly, then placed my phone on the table.
Standing up, I caught a glimpse of two familiar people through the glass walls, and my brows furrowed in a frown as I moved closer to the wall to see them.
There was a garden on the last floor, where my office was situated, and most times, my staff often lounged in it.
Red, hot fury burned through me when I saw Allison and Max sitting on a bench in the garden, identical grins plastered to their faces.
So he was the reason why Allison didn't want to give me another chance.
I truly hoped the bastard didn't think he was going to become Aiden's dad because there was no way in hell that I'd allow that to happen.
