Chapter 45 Comatose?

Chapter 45 Comatose?
Comatose?
Adrian’s POV

Everything was weird today. I had woken up with an eerie feeling. A sense of dread. And I didn’t seem to know the cause of it.
I sat on my chair as I looked out the building. My entire office was practically made of glass. I loved the view and I loved the sun that penetrated through. Of course they were authomatic as I could increase the tint anytime I wanted.
Including when I wanted to fuck my Princess in here. I missed her. And at that subtle reminder, the dull ache in my heart spread.
Unable to hold it in, I picked up my phone and was about to call her before I remembered my promise to her about her movie.
I called Caleb instead and requested his presence asap.
“You asked for me Sir”
I glanced at him. Professional as always. Which was the reason he was in charge of anything that concerned my Princess.
“Reinvest in her movie. Double the investment and make sure they have everything they need. Also make sure that every nook and cranny is covered. I wouldn’t want a repeat of the rumors. Do you understand?”
I didn’t need to spell it all out for him to understand what I meant. They were all to be taken out. For invading my woman’s privacy, they would pay the price that came with it.
He bowed slightly and walked out. I still couldn’t help the feeling of anxiousness that was rapidly growing inside me.
I directly called her line and found out she was another call. I called the second, third and fourth times and it was the same thing.
I ignored the pile of documents on my desk as I grabbed my jacket, ready to storm off to her location.
“Sir, in as much as I would allow you, you have ignored these documents for as long as possible. I strongly advise you tend to them as well as the line up of meetings you have. They can no longer be rescheduled. It’s important they be tended to”
Caleb sure had guts. Blocking me from leaving to see my Princess. Blocking me from seeing my woman.
But this was also the main reason he was my right hand. He wasn’t scared to oppose. A trait I liked but also wanted to kill him for having.
“Step back Caleb. Last warning”
I seethed as I commanded him. He might oppose authority but I was still his superior.
But the night looked me dead in the eye and said;
“Unless my body drops down dead with a bullet hole in the middle of my forehead Sir”
“Good then. You asked for it”
I pulled out my gun and pointed it straight at him. I could hear the gasps of everyone in the hallway but I couldn’t care less. I was bloodthirsty. I hadn’t spilled blood in a long time.
A long time being two weeks ago when I had killed a motherfucker that was stalking her and taking indecent photos of her changing on set. Apparently he had planted a camera in her room and used that as an opportunity to spy on her.
Spying on my woman. The sickest twist in history.
I made sure he had what was coming for him. And since then I had increased the security around her.
And now, another person was going to be added to my kill list. Caleb was right. I had ditched work for long and had pressing issues to tend to. But the fact that I wasn’t able to reach her was another issue on it’s own.
Caleb didn’t flinched. Even when I cocked the gun, even with my hand on the trigger. A swift move and he would be a lifeless body. But he still didn’t flinch.
“Thank your lucky stars that you are a good subordinate. Or else I would have ended you”
I put the gun back into it’s holster and walked back in. I could hear the audible sigh of relief he released as soon as the gun settled back into it’s holder making me smirk.
So he was afraid after all. Guess I needed to give him a raise. Not everyone could stand in front of a gun and not flinch once.
“Lucky bastard”
I whispered as I walked back in and slammed the door. I could hear his voice as he calmed everyone down. I couldn’t care less what they saw or what they would say.
I quickly tended to the documents on my desk and attended every single meeting I had for the day as well tended to the work I had for the next day.
I didn’t plan on stepping into the office once I hold my Princess in my arms. I had missed her for long.
I walked out of the conference room as the ache seemed to become more severe each passing moment.
Breathing became a huge hobby and I couldn’t help the anxiety and fear that accompanied it.
This time, even Caleb could see my struggle as he dialed my Princess’s number himself and handed me the phone as soon as the call connected.
“Hello Princess” I said in relief.
“Leave me the fuck alone Ethan Monroe”
She yelled and cut the call just as immediately. She was crying. And she sounded heartbroken. And she seemed to be driving as I had heard the honks of other cars.
“Trace her location. Investigate where she has gone, who she talked to. Heck, give me a report on everything she has done today from the moment she stood up from her bed.
I grabbed the car keys from him and stormed out of the room. I headed straight for the elevator as I called the best trackers in the globe to pin point her location.
I called her shadow guards for more inquiries. And when I hadn’t gotten the answers I wanted, I asked them all to meet me at the base.
I entered my car and called the last person on my list;
Her brother, Ethan Monroe.
“You have thirty seconds to tell me whatever transpired between you and my Princess. Your time starts now”
