Chapter 39 Blacklist Them!
Chapter 39 Blacklist Them!
Adrian’s POV
“Hurry up there or I will have your head”
“Yes Sir”
Nicholas’s text had sent me to a spiral. Short, precise and fcking straight to the point.
‘Lila is in trouble. Bring the jet and some men straight to Korea’
I would be a fcking idiot to ignore a text like that. I dropped everything as Caleb prepared the jet. I was anxious. What if I was late? What if something happens? How would I ever forgive myself if something happened to her?
I wouldn’t stand it. They would pay. Whoever thought it would be fun to threaten my woman in her place of work will see another version of me even I thought isn’t possible of existing.
“If I have to tell you one more time to speed up, you will be the first to exist the surface of the earth”
“Any more faster than this will have the police trailing us Sir”
“And you think I cannot handle a few police officers”
“I’m sorry”
“Thirty minutes more”
I had already covered all bases. Investigated all likely suspects and only one stood out.
Tiana Cruz. She really didn’t know when to stop, did she?
I picked up my phone and made a call to my secretary.
“Every business deal with Charlie’s company should seize to exist. A general information should be passed as well anonymously; anyone who has deals with him will never work with us again and will be blacklisted”
“Yes Sir”
“Good”
I ended the call as I waited for his call to come in. He was the one who gave her wings to act. So I was going to clip his wings and in turn, cripple her.
And if he doesn’t do the needful, there are many ways to end it. Bloody ways that the human brain wouldn’t even think of.
And as expected, my phone rang immediately.
“What is it?”
“Can you at least do me the honors of telling me what I have done wrong to have my company going bankrupt? Of course I know if we weren’t friends…”
“Friends…?”
“Sorry. Acquaintances. If we were not acquaintances, it would have been worse for me”
“Hold your how. If she so much as uses your influence to cross my woman again, a falling company will be the least of your worries. Charlie, I don’t need to tell you what I can do”
“You should know I have many of them beside…”
I ended the call as I brought my phone down from my ear. Whoever was involved in his sex life was the elevator of my worries and all I cared about was seeing my Princess safe.
“We have arrived Sir”
I couldn’t care less as I opened the door and walked in to the men trying to scare my Princess. Nicholas stood right in front of her and in the center of it all was Tiana fanning the flames.
Her phone seemed to ring as I watched her face morph into horror. Seemed like Charlie finally knew which whore to call.
She glared at my Princess as she called off her lackeys and they left.
Or I thought they did as I watched her throw a dagger straight at her.
Nicholas was fast. But not fast enough as I watched the dagger scrape the side of her face leaving behind a bloody tear as blood dripped down from it.
And at that point, all I saw was red.
The men dragged Tiana away but they wouldn’t walk away far before they would be held.
I stormed to her just in time to hear her reject the services of an ambulance claiming it was just a tear.
“Well I would love to hear that statement one more time.”
I carefully raised her small face in my arms as she side eyed Nicholas. Obviously cursing him for calling him here.
I couldn’t care less about it as I lifted her up in my arms and matched straight to my car.
“Pull out every single dime I invested in that movie and make sure it doesn’t see the light of day anymore.”
“But we are still…”
“Not now Princess”
I snarled at her which made her withdraw. I regretted it. But I couldn’t calm myself down to talk to her.
“Sue the directors for workplace abuse as well. On the grounds that there was a workplace violation and there was no protection for their artists”
I saw her about to speak again before she held it back. And the guilt made all my anger vanish. Why did she seem to not understand the depth of my feelings for her?
I watched the bloody scar on her face one more time as I forced myself to calm down.
“Princess”
Her face, filled with fear and skepticism looked at me but didn’t dare to meet my eye. I felt my heart break once more. The ache became more severe and intense than before.
“Princess look at me. Please”
I had no other option. I couldn’t bear her silence.
“I’m fine. You can do what you want”
“Princess.”
Why did her words send me into a spiral more?
“I’m okay with your decision. Take me to the hospital”
I needed to talk to her. To make her see everything in my eyes. She was so predictable. I could imagine the thoughts roaming in her head.
“Take us to the hospital”
No other word was uttered as we got to the hospital. And each silence was one ton of weight added to the pain in my heart and head.
“We just finished stitching the injury. She shouldn’t touch anything wey on her face till after four days. Then she can come back for the seam removal”
“Is there any other thing I need to know?”
“Nothing else apart from being careful. The wound is deep. But not deep enough to be worrisome”
“Noted”
I held onto her hand as I quietly raised her up. She was still silent as she looked at everyone other than me.
I took her to the car as she entered the back herself while making space for me. Caleb, ever the loyal follower was still behind the steering wheel.
“Take us home”
