Chapter 33 Saving Her

Chapter 33 Saving Her

Adrian’s POV: Saving Her
“Sir, she might have plans to jump off the bridge. She seems to be willing and not forced”
Those were the words I had never thought I would hear, in my entire life. I hurriedly entered the car as I sped off to the bridge. I prayed she would be alright. I prayed she would hang on. Let our memories keep her afloat till I got to her.
I knew everything wasn’t alright when I had dropped her off. I knew it wouldn’t get better when I was told she was heading to the bridge. What I didn’t expect was that she actually had plans of jumping off.
Wasn’t I enough? Did she really need the validation of my family that much that she would actually think of killing herself.
What was I to do if she didn’t exist anymore? If I had to wake up one day and find out she was no longer by my side. I would set the entire world ablaze. Staring from the Cole family, I didn’t give a blimey shit if we were related.
“Sir, I just got another information. She has started climbing the rails and has crossed over to the other side.
“Fck!!!”
I drove to a point where the entire road was blocked and I was then sure there must be some kind of devil somewhere preventing me from rushing over to her side.
Unable to take it any longer, I dashed out of my car and took off on my legs. I ran hysterically as I prayed she was still standing there.
“Princess!!”
I yelled as I sighted her after a thirty to forty minutes run. But it seemed she was already gone and I had never felt more afraid of anything else.
I watched as she closed her eyes and let go of the rail, ready to end it all and I used whatever was left in me to rush over and hold onto her hand.
“Baby look. Open your eyes. Please”
Her eyes remained shut as she slowly opened them and gazed at me as if she were dreaming.
“Heaven must have been closer than I thought. I actually died so fast”
Her mumbles echoed in my ears as I imagined her body, cold and lifeless.
That was one thing I would never depict the picture again mentally.
“Baby, it’s real. I’m here” Her hand tried slipping from mine as I held onto her tightly.
“Adrian” she whispered as if trying to comprehend if I was real.
“Yes baby. I’m here”
I slowly lifted her up as I brought her back to the ground and carried her over the rail. Once she was over, my legs slowly gave out as I slumped to the floor. She was tucked safely in my embrace as I sniffed her scent. My heart beating radically.
She was safe. And she was here. Nothing else mattered. No one else mattered.
Fuck, any later than I was now and it would have been a done deal. I would have lived a gruesome life of not having her close to me. I refused to believe such a world would exist but it seemed as if I was close to living it.
“Why did you come? You should have allowed me to end it all. Finally free you from my clutches. After all, I am nothing more than a lady bound by a contract to you, why go through the trouble of saving a vixen like me?”
She was throwing back the words my family had told her, had used against her and I had no way to comfort her about it.
I had done what I could do but I couldn’t bring out the gun and kill them all in broad daylight. I had to stage all their deaths to make sure it wouldn’t be traced back to me.
“Baby please stop this”
“Stop what? Myself from saying the truth. I tried, Adrian but I apparently was telling you to leave me alone. Leave me alone and allow me to wallow in…”
“Move In with me”
“What?” She asked that question in a daze that made me realize what I had just asked and frankly speaking, I wasn’t averse to it.
I wanted the feeling of having to wake up next to me. Knowing that we both were cohabitating in the same space. Nothing had ever felt so natural.
I had always been afraid of the dynamics of our relationship. But now, I understood. If I wasted any more time trying to understand her or find a better way to tell her, then I would lose her.
My body was still trembling as I buried my face in her hair and breathed in her scent.
“You are alive. You are alive. She’s with me”
I kept on singing it as a mantra as I rocked her back and forth. I didn’t even care about my million dollar suit that I had used to crouch on the floor.
All I wanted was to be sure she was safe and in my arms.
And just like I envisioned it;
Her, successful in her businesses. Owning thousands of brands, in a white wedding dress.
Her tummy, filled with our babies as it swells up. And I, by her side. I would do anything for her. Cook for her, clean for her. Hell, I will fucking sing for her if it meant she remained with me and no one else.
I needed her. I wanted her. A future with her. That picture had always been there, but today’s incident had shown me how easily that future could slip away from my hands.
Who was I delaying the entire process for then? I would rather rush into everything she was comfortable with first and then do the rest.
But first, she had to move in with me. I vowed never to let her wander alone whenever her mental state was at the lowest.
“Please baby, move in with me. Okay?”
I pleaded with her as I held onto her small face and gazed into her eyes.
“You can smack me in the face anytime you are asleep, hog all the blankets and I would still give you more. Steal all my tracks and hoodies and I still won’t complain. In fact you can leave bite marks all over my body and I still won’t utter a word of refusal.”
I was ready to give it my all. I noticed the wave of doubt written all over her face. She tried to explain and I shushed her.
“Yes or no baby. Ignore every other thing and factor. Will you move in with me?”
She looked at me and then finally smiled;
“Yes. I would move in with you”
