Chapter Thirty-Three: "Bloodlust"

Chapter Thirty-Three: "Bloodlust"

Seraphina POV

It was a human boy. About my size. But only male. His hands trembled on the pistol he was holding.

He looked between me and Ronan bleeding from, he was about to aim for another shot.

“Stop.” I seethed at him. And he did listen,

“Ronan?” His whimper cut through my chest, and his breathing had slowed.

I needed to get the bullet out of him, and then he’ll be okay. He’ll heal up as it wasn’t a silver bullet.

So I plunged my hands deep into his wolf fur and to his stomach.

I felt for the bullet, and once I found it, I pulled it out.

My hands were now drenched in blood. Relief bore through me as his wounds closed back up.

The guy cocks his gun and points it at me. Horror-stricken in his expression.

“What-what is going on here? Are you some kind of witch?”

“No.”

“How did you? How did he get healed? It was supposed to kill him.”

How do I explain this to a human who never knew of werewolves' existence?

I breathed deeply.

“He’s special.”

I stood up, and his fist tightened around the gun.

“I mean no harm. I just want a place to hide under for me and my friend, for when the night comes.”

He wasn’t exactly pleased by my request.

“And why would I trust a total stranger?”

“Cause I could have hurt you since and I didn’t.”

His eyes widened.

“Look please we just need a place for the night, you can keep pointing your gun at us, but just give us a place dammit.”

That seemed to have convinced him, for he was rushing to help us.

“I really must be crazy, carrying a wolf and a hippie to my cabin.” He muttered to himself.

“Well don’t sweat it. I’m quite convinced.”

We arrived at the said cabin, and the boy insisted I place Ronan alone in some cold dusty place,

And that I came inside with him. I automatically refused. Instead, I stayed right by Ronan's side in the cold dusty place.

The boy called Garage.

I held Ronan's huge paws, while the boy went inside.

Hours later my eyes gave out and I fell asleep,

The feel of someone shaking my arms had me opening my eyes. It was Ronan,

“Hey, are you okay?”

He was back in his human form, and that too alive, I rushed and gave him a hug, emotions flooded me all at once.

He was okay, and back to normal.

We stayed like that for a while before he released me.

“Well, what happened ?”

“You went rogue.”

His eyes widened, and he pinched his nose.

“Did I hurt anyone?”

“No. I stopped you before you did.”

He froze. “Did I hurt you?”

I swallowed. “No. Someone saved me before you could.”

Guilt ran down his expression. I hated it.

“Hey. Hey. This is not your fault. Okay?”

He nodded, but he didn’t seem convinced enough,

Just then the Large weird-looking door went up, and the boy stood in front of the entrance.

He froze once he saw Ronan.

“Is it?”

“Yes.”

“Oh fuck. I must be losing my mind. Oh fuck.” He mumbled. I couldn’t tell if it was a good one or a bad one.

All he did was gawk at Ronan.

Ronan was also staring at him, only that this time there was a sense of hunger in his eyes.

Then it hit me. Ronan was half wolf and vampire. If he could go rogue wolf this afternoon from entering the human world.

Then he could as well go bloodlust mode.

Oh shit! He could kill the human boy.

“Get out.”

“What?”

“Get out of here. Now!” I screamed,

“Why? I brought you here? You’re under my—“

His words got cut as Ronan pounced straight at him,

I tried to push him off the boy, hard, but I was pushed away, and my back landed hard on the cement wall.

Ronan had now sunk his teeth into the boy's neck.

He was going to kill him.

“Stop!”

He didn’t listen.

“Ronan. Stop please!”

The boy's scream echoed in the room, and they were beginning to slow down,

I need to distract him, I had human blood, well half of it,

I bit my hands hard till blood dripped. He snarled and was lurching towards me.

I was defenseless against him, but one fun fact.

Getting through a blood lust vampire was easier than getting through a rogue,

And so when he lurched at me and tried to suck me, I screamed. And his entire body paused at once. And like a haze. His eyes opened.

He froze in shock. And he shuttled far away from me,

I tried to breathe through my raging heart. He stared at his hands, and at the boy who had a very weak pulse.

“I hurt you.” The guilt overwhelmed his voice.

“It’s okay. It’s just the blood lust.”

He tugged at his hair by running his fingers through it.

“I can still feel it.”

“Focus on your feelings for me. The need to protect me. It’ll give you something to think of rather than the blood.”

He grew quiet, utterly quiet. I could tell his mind was racing with guilt. I tried to get closer, but he scooted away.

“Don’t come any closer. I could still hurt you.”

“No, you wouldn’t. I trust you.”

I moved closer and touched his face. Thankfully he didn’t flinch away.

“I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry.”

“It’s okay. I’m fine. It’s just a scratch.”

“I just wanted to protect you, that’s why I brought you here.”

“I understand, but the human world is cursed not to accommodate our kind. We’ll have to go back.”

“It’s still dangerous back there,”

“And so is here.”

Silence grew between us.

“Then how about only I go back, and you stay here?” He broke the silence.

Only with a bizarre question.

“No way. We stick together.”

“It’s the best option. You’re safe here, the curse does affect you, and I’m safe back home, my parents would protect me.”

I shook my head.

“I can’t survive without you, I can’t.”

“It won’t be forever, just until I kill all those bastards who tried to hurt you, then I’ll come bring you home myself.”

I shook my head even more. His plan was crazy and would fail. He can’t fight all of them in his own!

I wouldn’t let it. No way. We stick together. Forever.
