Chapter 29 Movie Marathon
"Aww! Shit babe, will you stop crying!" Matt uttered when he heard her snort again.
They were at her pad and currently watching a movie: A Walk to Remember. It was her favorite movie and she still can't help herself to cry every time she's watching it. It was a Saturday night and Matt usually visits her on Friday nights or Saturdays. They decided to have a movie marathon. Matt chose to watch Star Wars first and she chose A Walk to Remember after. Matt opposed when she decided to play the movie but she still insisted on it, she just can't get enough of watching the movie all over again so in the end, Matt let her be.
"I hate seeing you cry. I couldn't even understand why you still watch that movie over and over again? We've watched that a lot of times Bea and I can even deliver the lines for Pete's sake!" He argued that made her chuckle.
"Why can't you appreciate a good and romantic movie?" She replied in between snorts while wiping her tears with the tissue she was holding.
"I do, it was a good movie, okay? But watching it all over again Bea? It makes me bored already." He reasoned out.
"Then don't watch it, go home instead." She suddenly turned upset and changes her mood.
"Why can't we just watch a horror movie? Come on, babe. I'll be here to hug you if you're scared." He teased. She could see the glint of mischief in his eyes so she glared at him.
"Not funny... " She retorted then turned her face back to the TV screen.
A moment later, she felt him came closer to her as he gently put his right hand on her waist while they were sitting on the sofa. She then gently lay her head through his shoulders comfortably as he could feel his tiny kisses on her hair. They remained that way for like a couple of minutes as they watch the movie. When she felt his hand moved down a bit on her waist then his touch suddenly turned sensual and strange as he started kissing her temples down to her earlobes, her downy hair suddenly raised so she turned and face him.
"What are you doing?" She asked with forehead knotted.
He stopped then chuckled. He still got that mischievous glint of his eyes trying to tease her but she just ignore him. She was trying to concentrate on the movie she's watching and Matt is a bit distracting her so she moved away from his hold but he still pulls her back into his arms.
"Come here, won't you? " He said huskily but it was more like a whisper.
"I'm watching." She pretended to be irritated then face back the TV screen not minding him. Minutes later she felt him gently caressed her long hair putting it on one side then started kissing her neck through her nape.
"Matt..." She whispered almost like a gasp.
She don't understand but she suddenly got irritated. Maybe she's not in a mood for kissing or she just wanna enjoy the movie they were watching. Matt initiating it but she would rather wanna watch a movie than cuddle with him. Matt didn't stop though, he continue kissing her as she could feel his tongue gently licking her neck. He tilt her chin up then finally claimed her lips. She don't wanna upset him so she just opened her mouth and accepted his kisses. He deepened the kiss by plunging his tongue and in return, she kissed him back. She could feel him gently laying her on the sofa and she was starting to get alarmed.
What's Matt planning? What will he do?
When he was on top of her, she felt his hand touches her breast as she felt something hard between her legs poking her. Being new to this kind of intimacy and sensations, she suddenly felt intimidated and a bit scared. She suddenly felt uncomfortable and alarmed she pushed Matt to stop.
"Stop...." She exclaimed then immediately get up on the sofa and fixed herself.
Matt get up too then looked at her worried. She was not sure but she could sense he was a bit pissed off too. He pulled out a frustrated sigh and just face the TV.
They usually kiss intimately but it's just now that Matt goes further than the kiss they've shared. She was also got surprised by her reaction when she immediately pushed Matt to stop. She doesn't like the feeling of him being on top of her and when she felt his hard-on between her legs, it definitely scare the hell out of her. She can't understand but why does she feel this way? Even the kiss they usually shared, it's just like she was ought to kiss him back just to please him? Matt loves her, no doubt about it but her feelings for him? It's kinda like different and a bit chaotic now.
"I'm sorry. I didn't control myself." Matt finally broke the silence afterward to release the tension that started to belimp between them.
"I think you should go. It's getting late already." She uttered.
"Yeah, I should." He answered.
She could feel he was upset but she didn't hear anything from him. Mathew knew this is new to her. After all, he was his first boyfriend so he have to understand. She knew he respects and understands her but why does it feel he made him upset this time. Yes, they grew in a liberated country but she values her virginity even it's not a big deal for others nowadays. She was not yet ready. She was reserving it, it was a priceless gift that can only be given to the right person and at the right time. Although nowadays women lose their virginity at a young age and it's not even a big deal with them anymore, for her it was a matter of pride and honor. She wanted to give it to him at the right time when she was sure of her feelings about him.
"Bye, babe." He bade then kiss her forehead before he decided to leave.
"Are you mad?" She can't help to ask.
"No, I'm not. I understand, just don't mind me."
She could feel his coldness but that didn't bug her. She knew she had made the right decision. If he loves her truly, he can wait and would not insist on it. Relationship is not all about sex, then if he loves her truly, he can probably wait. She didn't finish the movie and suddenly lose the mood to watch. She just decided to go to her bedroom after Matt left. After showering and putting her pajama on, she went on the balcony of her room trying to get some fresh air, that's when she heard her phone ringed.
When did she see who might it be? A sudden excitement and gladness filled her when she found it was Thyago. She knew he was currently out of the country for business and he's been in Japan for a week now.
"Hi!" She cheerfully answered the phone not hiding her excitement.
"It felt good to be hearing your voice." He said it in a husky tone. Strange but she like his voice on the phone. It's a bit.... sexy...
"How's Japan so far? Why did you call anyway?" she asked. He went silent for a moment then she heard him pulled out a sigh.
"Something wrong? " She worriedly asked him.
"Nothing, I can't sleep that's why I called."
"Wait, can't sleep? Aren't it was supposed to be daylight in Japan?" She curiously asked then. Japan is on the opposite side of their country so the timezone must have been opposite too.
"I arrived from Japan yesterday." He replied.
"I see... " she replied.
He arrived in the country yesterday and he didn't bother to tell her? Wait, why would he tell her anyway? He just remembers her when he's bored and he needs someone to talk to like now. He can't sleep that's why he called. Just great!
"It's already twelve midnight, why are you still awake?" He said.
"May I remind you Mister that you called me this late in the middle of the night." She replied in a snarky tone.
"Yeah, I mean why are you still awake to even answer my call? You are supposed to be sleeping this time of the hour."
"I was about to sleep when you called. Got busy watching a movie, I didn't notice it's getting late though."
"What did you watched?" He asked. Their conversation is petty and a bit nonsense she realized but how come she was enjoying it?
"A Walk to Remember. " She shortly answered.
"That's a good movie. Watching it alone is no fun. You should've told me to come to your place to watch it with you." He said in between chortles. She smiled hearing his laughter.
"I'm not alone, I'm with Matt. He even argues with me for we've watched it a lot of times already. What can I do, I was really so in love with the movie." She narrated what happened a while ago. She even gave out a hearty laugh as she speaks but suddenly stops when she noticed the sudden silence on his part.
"Hey! You still there?" She uttered calling his attention.
"Hey... " he answered back.
"You went silent, what's the matter?" She asked all of a sudden.
There was a moment of silence again but she could hear his breath on the other line. What's with his sudden silence? Did she say something that made him upset?
"Nothing... Something just caught my attention." She heard him pulled out a sigh and then silence again. Should she say goodnight and hung up the phone?
"Hey, why don't we go out tomorrow? It's Sunday and we are both off to work?"
She thought for a moment while analyzing if she have something important to do tomorrow. It turned out she was free tomorrow but she was thinking if she will come with him.
"Where? I mean give me a good reason why should I go with you?" she queried.
"I wanna go zip lining and do rappelling tomorrow. I just want a company 'coz it's not fun being alone but it's okay if you don't wanna come." That alerted her so she made a decision in a haste.
Stop playing hard to get, Bea! You know you wanna come with him!
"Okay, I will." She immediately answered.
"So you mean, you'll go with me? " He clarified.
"Yeah, I would love to! I haven't tried zip lining and rappelling but I've always been wanting to do that before. I just don't get the chance." She suddenly felt excited for tomorrow.
"Great! I'll pick you up at ten in the morning, is that okay with you? "
"Sure..." She replied cheerfully.
Rappelling and zip lining with Thyago for Sunday getaway? Sound fun and exciting, she thought. She couldn't understand if it's the right thing to go out with Thyago but she like to. Although Thyago gives her happiness and she enjoys his company, she knew her limitations still. She knew how to guard her feelings well this time. They were friends and that's just it...
