Chapter 27 Bea's Dream
They went on the nearby fast-food chain just a few minutes' drive away from the site. Thyago wanted to eat at a seafood restaurant but she opposed it. She stopped him from parking the car at the seafood restaurant and told him she want to dine in a fast-food chain. Just thinking about the girl who's mainly the reason why he loves seafood suddenly irritates her. She loves seafood, yes, but she just has to decline the chance to taste with those for now. She doesn't like eating it with Thyago knowing she remembers someone else when he eats those foods. Funny and might be a strange reason but then who cares? She just doesn't feel like eating seafood with Thyago, period...
Fries, burgers, and chicken together with pizza for lunch, not bad anyway. Quite a heavy meal but she didn't mind it though. They even deal with an equal share in pizza. Too bad it was seafood flavor and Thyago was the one who bothered ordering it. She couldn't help to feel upset but she didn't manage to show it for she don't want to spoil their meal. She doesn't understand but seafood suddenly made a big deal in her.
"Didn't know you're not too conscious of what you eat." He stated all of a sudden while watching her eat zestfully.
She suddenly felt conscious and stop from eating and stare back at him. When he looked at him, he was wearing a sheepish smile like he was enjoying watching her eat.
"I mean, with that appetite of yours? It's a surprise you're not getting fat?" He added.
"I don't mind eating a lot, I don't get fat easily though. I actually have the appetite of a horse, you know..." She burst out a hearty laugh as Thyago stare at her with amazement in his eyes.
"Most girls control what they eat to maintain good looking body and it seems you're not one of them, uh? " he teased.
"Maybe because it requires by their profession or rather they're trying to achieve that shape to attract opposite gender, you know. In my case, I won't mind getting fat. It doesn't even require my job. I'm sure there are still people who'll ask for my service without minding if I'm fat or not." She replied with shrugging shoulders.
"Besides, being slim and fab has nothing to do with becoming an interior designer." She joked around as she smirk.
She heard him chuckled heartily as she could feel his stare at him but she don't mind him. When she met his eyes, she saw that deep and meaningful stare. A kind of stare something akin to endearment or amazement. She didn't bother to think what those stares meant. All she just knew is that she love staring back at those pair of blue orbs. It might give her a hard time to think for a reason why so better take for granted and enjoy the feeling, she thought.
"You know what? You're witty and confident but beyond those features is a beautiful woman with child-like innocence gestures." He commented still staring through the eyes trying to hold her gaze from him.
"Beautiful woman with child-like innocence gestures? Where was that came from, Thyago?" She looked at him weirdly and laughed?
"Yes, you are. I mean don't get me wrong. It's like you have opinions and perspectives just like a child. You have views that amaze me and you are so cute, don't you know that? Unless you're intending to lol cute in front of me." He teased.
"Duh? You wish!" She retorted after coughing exaggeratedly that made him laugh.
"Tell me about your profession? I mean why chose interior designing? Hey, I mean no harm, just wanted to know out of curiosity because the last time I open a topic about it, I upset you." He then added looking a bit alarmed.
"I'm sorry for what I acted that time..." She apologetically retorted.
"That was nothing, we're on good terms now." He said reassuring her.
"I always knew you wanted to become a businesswoman. You see way back then, you told me you wanted to put up your own restaurant in the future, so I viewed you in a culinary or business industry. I even imagined you opening a Seafood restaurant you know." That made her surprised and wanna laugh but she just resisted herself to do so.
Now she remembers telling him that but that was a lie because she just said that just to impress him. Funny because that was one of her silly and stupid lies and yet he still remembered it.
"You still remember that?" She stared at him trying not to laugh.
"But then you turned out to be in interior designing so why? I mean, I'm just wondering but it's okay if you're not comfortable telling me."
She smiled sheepishly. It was surprising that he still remember that thing she told him when all along it was just a lie. She only said that thing at that time to impress him although it's not really what she wanted. Truth is, she was fascinated and so in love with interior designing ever since. Too bad she never had a chance to tell him that part of her.
"I don't know. Actually even before I was fond of decorating my room and as well as our house when I was a little. Dad just let me and supported me on that habit. Then I just woke up one day having these aspirations of being an interior designer. I realized I want to create space, design and furnish homes and commercial buildings, and get paid on it at the same time just like an interior designer does. It is a passion that suddenly came out deep within me. It started as a passion and then aspiration, then it turned out to be my dream." she answered dreamily.
"And you pursue your dreams then?" He seemed agitated to tell him more about her chosen career so she continue then.
"When I told my Dad what course I wanna take up at college, I've never seen any opposition on him about that decision. He supported me and I can see that he appreciates what I do. When I got his blessings, I study hard and did my best to excel. It is fun learning when it deals with your passion and what you love to do..." Looking back on her achievements, she couldn't help to boast and be proud of herself.
"I can see that you were good at your job. You won't be this successful and famous if you didn't prove yourself enough in the Interior Designing industry." He commented.
"Maybe. Do you know how it feels like to be finally reached your dreams? It's like you're on the top of the mountain or you're floating on cloud nine. When I completed the degree and passed the NCIDQ ( National Council for Interior Designing Qualification) exam in New York, that's what exactly I felt. It was totally a dream come true!" She cheerfully stated. Every time she tell someone about her profession and her passion, she couldn't help herself to feel excited and happy. She was so glad to share the feelings with Thyago though.
"And then I got accepted and worked in a huge and prestigious firm. I worked real hard until I've proven myself in this industry and in return, lots of blessings came along the way. Big projects, winning prestigious awards, write-ups on magazines and the best thing is when I decided to finally stand on my own and put up my own firm. Now, this is me! Call me boastful or cocky but I'm proud of myself and my achievements, you know..." She said with so much happiness filled in her eyes.
"No, that's not cockiness. You're just gratified for your achievements. Well, that was really something to be proud of after passing all the hurdles and finally living your dreams? That's something really worth sharing with everyone. You can serve as an inspiration to aspiring Interior Designers in the future." He commented.
She looked at him and their eyes met. She then smiled at him appreciating his compliment because she got really pleased. Who would have thought that Thyago will be impressed with her in the future? Well, that's why he asked for her service, didn't he?
