Mick came over t talk and due to my lack of sleep I was rather blunt with him. I shushed him as he went to speak and just said
“sorry dude im just not in the mood for whatever crap your about to tell me”
I saw his huge frame physically drop as he walked away to speak to our other friends. I am sure it must have been the lack of sleep that was getting to me as I just didn’t want to interact or do anything really, without abbeys smile to brighten my day it suddenly seemed meanial and pointless. This was strange for me as all though I was never a huge fan of school or anything like that I had never reached a point with it where I just couldn’t be bothered. It was the same at home that night aswell everything just seemed to be another task that needed doing without a goal or reason as to why I needed to do it. It reached 9.30pm and I had decided that I just wanted to sleep and try and get some actual rest. Little did I know that this was going to be one of my worst nights ever. It started as usual with me floating in a deep nothingness and then slowly the scene appeared around me.
I was surrounded by the battle that I so often found myself in however this time I could see clearly that I was on the loosing side and I watched as my fellow soldiers were being cut down around me. Once their was only 3 of us left the fighting stopped, the fields around us were turned crimson with the blood that had been spilt and the three of us were led to a courthouse. We entered the large white marble structure before us and were greeted by a room filled with people and a large figure in a chair at the end, it was impossible for me to make out who he was and as we got closer we were forced to ur knees. From their we were chained in what I could only call stockades, our hands feet and necks were locked in place. The voice spoke clearly
“you have violated one of the ten laws given to you by your creator, you shall now face your punishment”
Then the ever familiar burning pain down my back and across my shoulder blades. The pain was extreme again to the point that yet again it drew tears from my eyes. I looked down at my wrist and saw a mark burnt into my flesh and then the falling sensation for what felt like an eternity. I woke suddenly a scream on my lips not quiet yet formed. I let the sound fall hollow and wiped my eyes the tears that had formed now very real my back was in agony as I sat in my bed I tried my hardest to remember the symbol but every time I came up blank. I must have sat for 2 or 3 hours trying my hardest to scour my memory for anything I could use to link this all together somehow. After a while I must have drifted off as I found myself in the blackness floating again. i was startled awake by the buzz and beep of my alarm clock I once again felt like I had not slept the entire time, and so began the normal morning rush. This time I made it to the bathroom with plenty of time, I had decided that I would set my alarm 5 minutes earlier and it seemed that this plan had worked.
During the walk to school I decided that I would spend my first break in the library looking up about this “war of angels” that mr watts had spoken of. I could have done this at home but it was easier at school as they had computers and the only computer we had was a laptop my mum used for work and so was kept in her room, we of course had internet but I preferred a larger screen than that of my phone. I made my way to the classroom that we always used before form time and found abbey sat at one of the desks, my heart jumped and I felt an urge that I hadn’t felt before. I felt like I needed to just hold her, I pushed this urge aside and instead went for a more formal
“hey glad to see your back”
She smiled at me and I noticed yet again those soft pale lips and the cute dimples that formed as the corners of her mouth so gently curled into her smile
“hope you didn’t miss me too much”
She asked jokingly
“nah why would I”
I replied trying to play it cool, how could I tell this girl that I barely knew at this point that actually I had missed her and my entire day had seemed empty without her there. As soon as I finished my sentence her face dropped a little before she recovered and laughed along as well. For a second I thought that was it I had blown the whole thing. The bell rang and we made our way to form, on the walk I kept pace with abbey and explained rather fumblingly that I had missed her but not in a creepy way rather it had been boring without her, again not the smoothest move that I had ever pulled. She smiled as I explained this to her and the laughed a bit. As we sat in form she turned to me and said
