Chapter 35 Lysandra
“Mia! Wake up!” The loud whisper resonated in Mia’s ears, and at first, she thought that she was dreaming until she heard the unfamiliar female voice, this time louder and more distinct.
“It’s time to wake up, Mia!”
Mia gasped, panting heavily under the perspiration that ran through her body.
Her eyes moved from one corner of the room to the other, her heart beating like a talking drum.
She took a deep breath, yet it couldn’t get rid of the sensation that besieged her, nor could it get rid of the flashes that surged into her mind.
She tried to hold onto something, but her mind was too clogged for her to concentrate.
Just then, the door opened, and Russell walked in, carefully carrying a golden tray with both hands.
“You are awake.” He smiled at Mia, increasing his steps toward her.
Mia groaned, battling the ache inside her head.
“How did I get here?” She asked, eyes on the Alpha who had dropped the tray on the table in front of her.
“My dress? What happened to it?” She inquired with a whisper, realizing that she was clad in a white oversized shirt that looked like it belonged to the Alpha.
Russell took a deep breath, staring her in the eyes with arched brows.
“You don’t remember what happened last night?”
“No, I don’t.” Mia gave a quick response, adjusting toward the edge of the bed.
“What happened last night?” She asked, her eyes begging for a response.
“You shifted, Mia,” Russell said casually, making himself comfortable beside her.
“I shifted?” Mia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The oblivious look on her face lingered, stretching through the veins all over her.
“You mean I sensed my wolf?”
“No, Mia.” Russell shook his head, holding onto the smile that appeared on his face.
“You didn’t just sense your wolf, Mia. You actually shifted into a big white wolf.”
Mia was dumbfounded, her eyes widening in disbelief.
She could have sworn that the Alpha was lying, but after spending such a long time with him, she could tell when he was serious.
“A big white wolf?” She muttered, her mind puzzled intensely.
“How come I don’t remember anything?” She asked, returning her gaze to the Alpha.
Russell searched for the right answer to give to her, but he could not find any.
“Maybe because it was your first time, Mia.” He stood up from the bed and grabbed the cup of black coffee from the tray.
“Here. I am sure you should be feeling a bit fuzzy.” He handed the coffee to Mia, and she held onto it, looking inside the cup.
“I felt the same way when I bloomed. It’s normal to feel weak and confused, especially for someone with such a powerful wolf as you possess.”
Mia looked at the Alpha, and after a few seconds, she took a sip from the cup.
“Mmmh!” She groaned, withdrawing her lips from the tip of the ceramic cup.
“It’s too hot.” She returned the cup to the Alpha who in turn kept it back on the tray.
Mia was silent for a while, and then she cleared her throat, attempting to get clarity.
“The only thing I can remember is Olsen and his friends trying to have their way with me…” She paused for a while, trying to remember whatever could be reachable to her memory.
“Then I felt this strange feeling inside me. My bones began to bend, and I felt a voice calling out to me.”
Russell nodded with a smile.
“That was your wolf, Mia.”
“My wolf?” Mia arched her brows, delighted by the sound of what she said.
“Yes, Mia.” Russell took a deep breath, and then he sat next to her again.
“Have you looked in the mirror?” He asked, and when he got the silent answer from Mia, he took a deep breath, pointing to the closet.
Mia sighed heavily, and pushing herself up, she sauntered to the closet.
Slowly, she pulled out the mirror, staring at her reflection.
At first, she saw nothing.
Then she looked again, moving her eyes to her face.
Then she gasped, moving her fingers to her face.
“My eyes!” She exclaimed, staring as her eyes brightened like gold.
“They were blue.” She swallowed hard, turning to the Alpha for an explanation.
Russell walked up to her, and they both stared at the mirror.
The Alpha held onto her from behind, staring with a smile on his face.
“You have a very powerful wolf, Mia. Maybe if you listen silently, you will hear her voice.”
Mia nodded, and then she reached into her mind.
She waited for a few seconds, yet there was nothing.
“I don’t think I can hear anyone, Russell.” She lamented, her face drained of its color.
“Try harder.” The Alpha urged, his confident smile intact.
“She lives inside you, Mia. You both are one.” His voice was soothing, and Mia nodded.
Then she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
She only had to wait for a few seconds, and the voice called out,
“I am here, Mia.” Silent and peaceful.
Mia gasped, forcing her eyes open.
“I heard her!” She said, staring at the Alpha through the mirror.
She chuckled, her eyes wide with surprise.
Russell sighed heavily, and then he cleared his throat.
“I think you should give her a name, Mia. That way, you form your first bond with her.” He paused for a while, probably to be certain that he had her full attention.
“Think of a name. a powerful name.”
Mia was silent for a while, going through all the ideas inside her head.
Finally, she was ready to break her silence, turning slowly to face the Alpha.
“What was my mother called?” She asked, begging for a response.
Her question once again brought back memories, but Russell knew he was obliged to give her a response.
He only remained silent for a few seconds, and then he responded, “Lysandra.”
“Lysandra?” Mia muttered, and instantly, a smile replaced her curious stare.
“My wolf shall be called Lysandra. That’s what I will call her.” She said, and before the Alpha could react, someone knocked at the door.
