Chapter 28 Snatched
Mia groaned, making several attempts to open her eyes.
The first thing she felt was the pain from the Alpha’s bite on her neck.
“That was not a dream.” She muttered, forcing her eyes open.
She looked to her side, and the Alpha was gone.
But he left his powerful scent with her, and it increased as she rolled to the other side, grabbing the already ruffled sheets.
The smile on her face lingered as she reminisced on Russell’s strong and sweet touch, and a soft laughter left her.
Then she sighed, looking out the window.
“It’s already dark?” She gasped, getting off the bed.
“How long did I sleep?” She muttered, looking at her dress.
It had several holes in it, created by the Alpha’s sharp and long claws.
She grunted, heading to her closet.
She picked up a casual outfit, but reminded of what had happened, she decided to take a bath.
Quickly, she went into the bathroom, and as the water splashed on her body, she whistled a beautiful tune, something she couldn’t remember doing.
She had taken longer than expected in the bathroom, all thanks to the memories that kept flooding into her mind, prompting her to giggle in delight.
When she eventually got out of the shower and put on the fresh clothes, she headed for the door, grabbing the handle.
“Why do I still smell him?” She asked, sniffing silently.
She got out of the room, her path illumined by the bright lights of the chandeliers hanging on the ceiling.
She walked to Russell’s chamber, but after knocking twice, she got no response.
Her stomach rumbled, a reminder that she was famished.
Slowly, she grunted, turning for the staircase.
“He is not yet back.” A familiar voice said, startling her from behind.
“Alara?” She chuckled, turning slowly to the Alpha’s sister.
Alara walked up to her with a smile, clad in a lovely white dress, and nice silver heels.
Her jewelry were countless, all shiny and expensive.
She had an awkward expression etched on her face, and Mia wondered what it meant.
She saw the mark on her neck, and as she stared, Mia was forced to cover it stylishly, looking away.
Alara cleared her throat, and after looking around, she leaned closer to Mia and whispered, “You were really loud this evening, Mia.”
Mia looked away, gripped by utter embarrassment.
She didn’t know if it was shame or regret, but it was strange and powerful.
Alara chuckled softly, staring at her with a smirk.
“You don’t need to feel terrible about it, Mia. I scream Marcus’ name whenever we do it.”
Mia squinched her face at how shameless Alara was, but it was obvious that she needed to get used to that part of her.
She sighed heavily, looking down at Alara’s dress.
“Going somewhere?” she inquired, admiring her bracelet.
Alara nodded, holding onto her black purse.
“Yes, Mia. My friends and I are going out to the club. You should come.”
“No.” Mia shook her head, turning down the invite.
Alara frowned, but she didn’t look like she was not going to insist.
“Come on, Mia. It’s going to be fun, I promise. My friends are very nice, you will love them,”
Mia took a deep breath, giving the invitation a thought.
“I don’t know, Alara. I don’t think I should go.”
Alara scoffed, unwilling to give up.
“If you are worried about my brother, then you don’t need to bother.” She paused for a while, inching closer to Alara.
“Russell went out with Marcus, and I am sure we will be back before them. They will be gone until midnight.”
Mia remained silent, gripped by uncertainty as she gave the situation a thought.
“Are you sure about this?” She muttered, ignoring the strong feeling that tried to dissuade her.
“I am certain, Mia. Are you not tired of staying indoors all day and doing nothing? Russell is not the only one permitted to go out and have fun.”
Alara grunted, twisting her expression into a frown.
She inched closer to Mia and grabbed her hands, and with a persuasive smile, she looked into her eyes.
“One chance, and I promise you that you will be begging for more.” Her voice was low but persuasive, her sunny eyes seeming like they were compelling Mia
“I really hope I am not going to regret this,” Mia grunted, and then she sighed heavily.
“Alright,” She nodded, her tone full of so much reluctance.
“Yay!” Alara chuckled, lifting both hands in victory.
“But I don’t even know what I am going to put on?” Mia lamented, looking at Alara’s outfit.
She could still remember that she needed help the last two times she dressed gorgeously.
Alara chuckled softly, looking all over Mia.
“Don’t worry,” She nodded, her smile intact.
“I am sure we are going to find something nice in your closet. Lead the way.”
Mia turned slowly, heading back to her room.
Her steps were slow at first, but soon she paced up, walking into her room before Alara.
She moved to her closet, feelings of indecision crashing into her.
Alara huffed as soon as she saw the bags filled with new clothes, shoes, and bags.
“Russell truly adores you, Mia.” She chuckled, turning to Mia.
“Now I am jealous.” She joked, taking a deep breath.
She moved closer to the closet, scouring with her eyes.
“Let’s see what we have here.” She looked carefully, and at the end, she picked up a dress, a pair of shoes, and a matching handbag for Mia.
“Try them on, I am sure you will look perfect in them.”
Mia concurred, grabbing them from Alara.
She changed at once and came out looking like a goddess.
Alara gasped as soon as Mia walked out of the corner, her eyes wide with astonishment.
“You look snatched, Mia! I should take a picture.” She instantly pulled out her phone from her purse and took two unaware pictures of Mia, the flashlight glittering in her eyes.
“I am definitely saving these.” Alara nodded in satisfaction, admiring the pictures.
Mia chuckled softly, but she didn’t bother to look at the pictures.
Alara was about to slide the phone into her pocket when it rang, prompting her to look at it.
“My friends are calling, Mia. We should be on our way.” She grabbed Mia’s hand, leading her out of the room.
