Piper’s POV
Before we got out of the room, the twins knocked on the door and called out, “Mom, Dad! Can we come in?”
Jay turned to look at me and we both smiled. Jay replied, “Come in.”
And instantly, the door opened. They ran into us. “Why do you have to run? Be careful not to let Mom fall because your energy is too high.”
The smart Jansen immediately realized something was up. He pulled Jessie’s hand and asked her to move away from me for a moment. “Jessie, come here.”
“What’s wrong?” Jessie asked, confused. However, she obeyed Jansen.
“What happened to you, Mom? Last night I saw Uncle Austin coming here. Are you sick?” Jansen asked.
“Wh-what? Mom is sick?” Jessie asked, curious.
“Ah, better we sit on the sofa. I’ll ask Lily to bring breakfast over here. Jansen, please close the door,” Jay asked.
Then Jessie took my hand and helped me sit on the sofa. The way the twins treated me touched my deepest heart. Their tenderness, kindness, and care were just what I needed in my life, and to me, they were the most beautiful gems.
Jessie asked me to sit in the center of the sofa, then she sat on my left side, while Jansen sat on my right side and Jay sat next to Jansen.
“Thank you. You’re such good kids,” I said as I kissed each of them on the forehead.
“Mom, now tell us what’s wrong with you?” Jessie asked.
Jansen looked at me and Jessie. Before answering, I hugged them. “Do you guys want another sibling?”
“Wh-what? So I’ll have a little sister?” Jessie asked, looking thrilled. Her eyes were shining and her tiny lips were smiling.
“Umm, who said a sister? You’re jumping to conclusions that aren’t true. Oh my gosh,” Jansen said.
Jessie scowled as she folded her arms across her chest. Her face showed she was having a bad moon. “Jansen’s right. Mom and Dad don’t know the sex of your sibling yet. And Mom just found out today that you’re going to have a little sibling soon. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, you still have to love them. Okay?”
Jessie nodded while looking at me. “Sorry.”
I hugged her tiny body while giving her understanding. “It’s okay. Having hopes and desires is not wrong. It’s just that if you don’t get what you hope and want, you shouldn’t be sad, disappointed, or angry. Just keep hoping and do the right thing to get what you want. Okay?”
The twins nodded. Then, suddenly, Jansen touched my hand and asked, “So, what did Uncle Austin say?”
“Mom has to go there to check on your sibling. So, after breakfast, you guys wait here while Mom and Dad go to the hospital,” I replied.
“I don’t want to. I want to come.” Jessie whined.
“Let us come. We won’t be naughty. Trust me,” Jansen said.
“Jansen’s right,” Jessie replied.
I looked at Jay for his opinion. He nodded as he whispered, “It’s okay. We’ll go together.”
Not long after, Lily and two other servants arrived with breakfast. The four of us enjoyed breakfast together as we dreamt about the baby in my womb.
They looked happy and were making plans for the baby. My lips kept painting a smile at their enthusiasm for welcoming the baby.
After breakfast, we rushed to the hospital. Long story short, we arrived at the hospital and now I was lying on a bed inside Austin’s office. A nurse stood beside me and was always ready if the doctor needed her help.
Jay took Jansen and Jessie by the hand. The three of them stood behind Austin. Meanwhile, Austin was performing an ultrasound on my stomach. The monitor in front of us showed the fetus of my baby and he looked still and tiny.
“Yes, your wife is pregnant, Jay. It’s your baby,” Austin said.
“Finally. Is the baby healthy? How is Piper’s health?” Jay asked, sounding worried.
“Healthy. I don’t see any problems. I’ll write out a vitamin prescription for her. And as for her health condition, I will monitor her while she takes these vitamins. Get plenty of rest and watch what you eat. Okay, the examination is over. You can get up,” Austin replied.
“Thank you, Austin,” I said as I got out of bed. The nurse standing next to me helped me up and straightened my clothes, then helped me sit on the chair in front of Austin’s desk. Jay and the twins were already seated there.
“Here’s the prescription and call me if you have any complaints or pain. Congratulations,” Austin said.
“Can we go on vacation somewhere?” Jay asked.
“Ah, for what?” Austin asked.
“We’re not on our honeymoon yet, and we just want to celebrate the good news at a resort. Is that okay?” Jay asked.
Austin let out a quick breath and replied, “It’s fine. Just make sure there are clinics around and don’t get too tired. She’ll be fine.”
“Ah, thanks,” Jay replied.
“When do you plan to leave?” Austin asked.
“In two weeks,” Jay replied.
“Well then, have fun and be careful,” Austin said.
“Ok. Thanks, buddy. We’re going home now.” So, the four of us rushed back there and went straight to our favorite café to celebrate this joyful news. We wanted time to slow down so that we could continue to feel this happy feeling.
Megan’s POV
“So, when are they going on vacation?” I asked one waiter at Jay’s house. They did not know that one maid had become my spy.
“Next week, madam. And one more thing, Mrs. Piper is pregnant. They are going on a vacation with family and close friends,” the maid replied.
“Austin? Jordan?” I asked, a little confused.
“Oh no, but Mrs. Piper’s best friends. Lisa and Max,” the waitress replied.
“Oh, them. Alright, keep me informed and as for your paycheck, I’ve already transferred it. You can check it now. Keep up the good work and never betray me. Understood?” Megan asked.
“Yes, madam.”
“Good. Now bring me good news.” I hung up the phone and rushed off to Zac’s headquarters.
Time to put the plan into action! Piper, don’t blame me if something bad happens to you.
I parked the car right in front of the entrance to Zac’s compound. Two big men let me in freely because they already knew that I was their boss’s mistress. And dealing with me means looking dead.
“Zac, can I come in?” I asked as I knocked a few times on the door to his office.
However, I faintly heard a girl moaning, or no, it was a cry of pain. What’s going on inside?
