Chapter 121 Meeting End

Chapter 121 Meeting End
Melissa raised her eyes, everything she just said went over head. She got confused completely. She'd understood most of what this was but what does a name have in connection with who or what a wolf was? A name is a name. She'd never really put too much thought to names and titles.

Other than a means of identification, you are who you are. But with the way her wolf reacted to her "family name," being spoken, made her start questioning some things. She put a footnote to her thoughts when Margaret spoke again.

"Oh, don't worry about that, this is a personal research of mine and I will be sure to tell you about it when I confirm my findings," she said. "Please let us carry on with the rest of the meeting because there isn't much time."

Everyone just stood silent and stared at her for a while before Avalors spoke. "What exactly is it you're researching?" He said, gazing at her intently. "Why are you even researching stuff like that?"he asked.

"I am an archivist. I research nature mostly, but I focus on werewolves history and all." she said.

"Thought you were a PA to a zookeeper?" Avalors chuckled.

Margaret smiled coyly, flustering to Avalors comment, the gesture made Melissa so irritated that she wanted to scream for them to stop whatever it was they were doing, but she restrained herself. Instead she coughed and tilted her head towards Avalors.

The Beta nodded and started off the meeting again. "So, I am guessing her lady is speaking next. We are at the final part of the discussion at last," he said.

Melissa inhaled and then stood up. The topic she was about to start was probably the most important one as of now. It was the only topic that has threatened the lives of everyone seated at the table the most. "I am going to give reports on the Oracle and our progress with it," she announced.

Melissa saw everyone's attention piqued again, they all turned to her and Melissa started. "The Oracle has made multiple life threatening attempts at the throne lately and though we've able to survive them, we haven't necessarily been able to understand them to launch a counterattack against them." She said. "This is mostly due to our lack of information about them and today I will check out what we know and what we do not know, so we know how to proceed on the subject," she flipped open a book in her hand.

She'd read every single report Margaret had sent to her parents and she'd read it all over again. She knew, currently as much as Margaret, about the Oracle so she was the only member equipped enough to take on the topic.

She started. "Starting with what we know," she paused and glanced around before continuing. "The Location of their lab, three of their executive members, one who is a spy for us. Another organisation affiliated today," she said the last bit while nodding, to let them understand that she was talking about the vampire organisation Margaret had mentioned.

"In addition to this, we also know a bit of their history and also a peripheral of their actual goal." She said. "This is what we've been able to scrape about them for the last few years," she said, counting Margaret's research.

She could see the face of everyone grow a bit weary. It was almost as if the organisation was impermeable. They'd been at the mercy of their whims all this while. They'd only been lucky in their past few encounters.

"What we do not know," Melissa began. "I will need suggestions from here on," she added.

"First, what their true goal is," she said. "There is no need for a suggestion pertaining to this particular one, we don't need to guess or know their goal, even though it will be a great deal of help to us, we are not to try and guess. A wrong option would send us into their clutches," she said.

"What other location they are in,"she said. "What other organisations they are affiliated with and finally who is calling the shots," she concluded.

Everyone began to contemplate and as expected Beatrice wanted to speak first. "You said we knew three of their executives?" she asked. "Theresa, Arabella and who?"

Melissa nodded. "Duramount, I killed him, and he came back to life, remember," she informed.

Beatrice nodded. "Our counterattack measures might be to attack the weakest visible link for now and that is Theresa," she started. "We will also need to strengthen our forte and going for Melissa might give us an ally and a counterattack at the same time."

Melissa nodded, understanding her direction of thought. If they could get Greyhound and Theresa to become enemies, it would favour them way more than they'd imagined. They would have Greyhound as an ally and Theresa would be dragged down.

"Even though Theresa seemed to act like the silent little naive girl, I am guessing she is hiding a lot. I have placed people to follow her and report a daily routine, habits and everything. They reported her as having a violent temperament," Beatrice continued. "I was able to confirm this claims too, multiple maids were reported to have been beaten and scratched," she said. "We can use this against the Oracle and the council at the same time, " Beatrice bowed and sat.

Melissa nodded, that was an effective way to deal with two of their problems and weaken it even. So first they had to cause a conflict between Theresa and Greyhound. This was a plausible plan.

Melissa stood up and smiled. "Okay, let us try and do that first. I am guessing you will be in charge, right?" She pointed to Beatrice and the latter nodded.

The rest of the meeting was more of a discussion on the Vance pack and other general stuff. At last they ended the meeting and they all left. Melissa barely managed to finish her food before going to bed to sleep.
