"My family has sent me to pick you up. They specifically instructed me to take our first meeting seriously, so I arranged for a small convoy of vehicles," Alexander stated.
Olivia remained silent as she observed the convoy that was nearly blocking the villa's entrance.
Alexander then motioned to those behind him, signaling them to proceed. "Hurry up," he said.
The drivers, all dressed in identical uniforms, spoke together from behind him. "Welcome back home!"
Olivia shifted uncomfortably. Perhaps due to the Parker family's distant treatment throughout her childhood, she found herself unprepared to handle such warmth. Turning to Alexander, she simply said, "Let's go," eager to leave quickly.
As they began to move, Olivia noticed the villa's security guards cast curious glances at her.
Alexander couldn't help but smile as he observed her reaction, having come to a sudden realization. His eyes narrowed slightly as he met hers, prompting him to ask, "Why are you here alone?"
It struck him as strange that she was alone at the villa gate at this hour.
Olivia pursed her lips, hesitant to reveal that she had been expelled from the Parker family earlier than expected. Before she could dismiss the question, another voice interrupted.
A clear male voice came from the car, elegant but impatient. "Shall we go?" he asked.
Following the sound, Olivia's gaze was drawn to a man sitting in the back of the car from which Alexander had gotten out. Even from her vantage point, she was drawn to his presence.
The man in the car lounged with his long legs slightly bent, his upper body obscured by the vehicle's shadow. His wrist casually rested on the central armrest of the back seat, exuding elegance and sedateness. Even the folds on the man's suit seemed to have an unexplained appeal.
But what really struck Olivia was the radiant golden aura that surrounded him.
Olivia, who has had the ability to perceive things beyond the ordinary since childhood, was familiar with the various colors that represent a person's fortune. While she had seen a faint golden hue on those who had served their country, the man's dazzling radiance was unprecedented.
She wondered who this person was.
Before Alexander could continue her inquiry, he smiled in response to the man's prompt.
"Let's get going," Alexander said, gently nudging Olivia's shoulder and leading her toward the car. In a low voice, he muttered, "Tsk, Devil really lacks patience."
He led Olivia to the front of Devil's car and motioned for her to get into the back seat, taking his place beside the man.
Olivia was able to examine Devil's appearance more closely now that she was near the golden aura. His features were sharp and sculpted, exuding a cold yet striking beauty that revealed no emotion, rendering his thoughts incomprehensible.
Devil's gaze met Olivia's for a brief moment as if he easily understood her questions and emotions.
Olivia paused for a moment before asking, "Are you also my brother?" She was unsure how to approach the subject of the gold aura.
Alexander, seated in the front seat, burst out laughing at her question. However, the Devil responded with a cold stare before tersely denying, "No."
Fortunately, Alexander intervened and clarified, "This is Ian Whitman, not your brother. "I am your only brother."
Olivia vaguely recognized Ian's name, but she couldn't recall where she had heard it before. However, given the prominence of the four major families in Haereth, two were Whitman and Sinclair families, she wondered if it was a coincidence.
Alexander explained the situation, saying, "I came to pick you up, and Ian happened to be along for the ride." Olivia nodded, indicating her understanding.
However, Ian, who had averted his gaze, responded coldly, "You're using my fleet. The Whitmans do not need to rely on other people's cars."
Undeterred, Alexander responded bluntly, "I had no choice. Our entire fleet was deployed. Among my acquaintances, only you would have a separate fleet for your garage."
As the conversation progressed, the pitch-black fleet began its departure, escorting the central car as it left in the same way it had arrived.
As they left, several security guards who had been watching the scene exchanged glances and began to talk among themselves.
"Wasn't the person taken away by the fleet just now the eldest daughter of the Parker family?"
"Yes, I heard she is not the Parker family's biological child. They kicked her out. Rumor has it that she is from the mountains."
"The mountains?" Look at her; does she resemble someone from there? I wonder who her biological parents are; they must be important people."
"Ha, if that's true, the Parker family is bound to regret their actions."
Despite the strict regulations in the security office, guards frequently discussed the villa's affluent residents. One guard abruptly hushed the others and turned around, bowing respectfully toward the vehicle gate. It happened to be the Parker family's car.
Kayla and Nicole sat in the car's back seat, unconcerned about the security guards' bows. Their lofty status as villa owners instilled a sense of contempt for those they considered beneath them.
While discussing their plans, Kayla smiled and told Nicole, "Although the final list of city representatives has been decided, it has yet to be officially submitted. I found out that the list was submitted by someone from the Sinclair Group. Your father happened to speak with the Sinclair Group the other day, so we can simply seek their help directly."
Nicole's enthusiasm was palpable as she replied, "The Sinclair Group? The Sinclair family, one of the four major families, owns that company! How amazing that Dad is collaborating with them!"
Kayla's expression was one of satisfaction, despite her attempts to maintain a casual demeanor.
"It is indeed the Sinclairs. Many have tried to entice them with financial incentives, only to be ignored. Nonetheless, they actively approached your father, demonstrating our family's standing in Haereth. We can expect more requests for our collaboration in the future."
Nicole's face lit up at the prospect of working with the Sinclair family, as she imagined a future among Haereth's wealthy elite.
With such a partnership, she would undoubtedly have different potential suitors.
As Olivia departed, the Parker family's fortunes appeared to improve.
"That's great," Nicole said, feigning reservation. "But would they decline if we directly request their assistance?"
Kayla replied confidently, "They actively sought our cooperation. Given our partnership, it's only natural for them to help us with these minor favors, right?"
She continued, affectionately clasping Nicole's hand, "Rest assured, I'll make sure you reclaim your position as city representative! It's about Haereth's reputation. That girl does not deserve what is rightfully yours!"
Nicole couldn't hide her delight and responded with a submissive demeanor.
"So, are we heading to the Sinclair Group's headquarters?" she asked after a brief pause.
Kayla corrected her, "We aren't going to the company headquarters. We're heading straight to the Sinclair Villa."
