Chapter 195 EPILOGUE

Chapter 195 EPILOGUE
SANCIA

Six Years Later

“I don't ever want to see that Diavolo ever again,” I said angrily as I marched inside the house, pushing my seven-month pregnant belly along with me, with Tina following on my heels.

I ignored Maria's greeting, my aching feet, and basically everything else around me. Zetta was busy cooking when I walked in, opened the fridge, grabbed the jug of freshly squeezed orange juice, and gulped it down directly from the jug.

“Sancia, I hate to break it to you, but you're his wife, in his house, so you're definitely going to see him,” Tina replied.

“Then I'm going to fucking gut him. Or better yet, I'll slice his dick off if he ever comes anywhere near me,” I threatened, putting the juice back in the refrigerator.

The cold orange juice hadn't done a thing to cool my anger.

“I support your decision a hundred percent. How dare Lorenzo hurt you like that? How dare he cheat on you with that whore?” Tina ranted.

I pivoted toward her, narrowing my eyes.

“Wait, what do you mean he hurt me? I'm not hurt. I don't care if he slept with all the women in the world—except my family, of course.”

“Of course,” she agreed.

“That too, after he divorces me. What I care about is how he disrespected me, and that too with that wretched goody-two-shoes woman. Did you see how tightly she was hugging him? And the bastard fucking let her. Does he think he's some kind of prize?”

“I don't know, but maybe it's not what it looks like...?”

“I'm telling you, Tina, Lorenzo could whore himself around all he wants, but only after he divorces me. I will never tolerate the indignity and disrespect like the rest of the women in the famiglia do—”

Tina suddenly burst into laughter, clutching her stomach.

“What the fuck?” I swore angrily, glaring at her.

“I'm so—oh my God, I'm so...sorry...” she managed between fits of laughter.

My anger and frustration immediately turned into tears.

“Fuck you, Tina! Get the hell out of my house. Now!”

“Oh my God, I'm sorry, Sia. I didn't mean to laugh. I just couldn't control myself.”

She hurried after me as I stormed into the bedroom.

“I'm so fucking sorry. Please forgive me,” she pleaded, finally sober, her palms pressed together against her chest.

“How could you laugh at a time like this? Do you think this is funny?”

“No. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. It won't ever happen again.”

For the next couple of minutes, I ranted about what she'd done until, somehow, the conversation circled right back to Lorenzo cheating on me.

Tina listened quietly for a while before suddenly grabbing both my hands.

“Sancia, I need you to listen to me. There's no way on this earth that man would cheat on you. Girl, you have him wrapped around your little finger.”

She squeezed my hands.

“Besides, we both know you love him just as much, so you can't bear to hurt him in any way.”

I snickered. “You think? Well, just you wait and see how I'm going to deal with his cheating ass.”

“Honestly, I never thought the day would come when you'd be this jealous because of Lorenzo.”

“Jealous? Who?” I choked out incredulously. “I fucking hate that asshole.”

“Doesn't look like it,” she mumbled.

“What was that?” I snapped, glaring at her.

Tina sighed.

“Do you really hate him?”

It was a rhetorical question because the answer was written all over my face.

“Of course,” I lied. “That asshole doesn't deserve my love.”

Right then, the devil in question strode into the room.

Confident as fuck.

Tall, dark, and annoyingly yummy.

His eyes—those dark pools that always managed to draw me in and somehow read my mind—lifted and instantly found me, like I was a beacon calling him toward me.

I didn't see the men behind him as he started making his way upstairs.

I didn't see the woman beside him.

All I saw was Lorenzo holding my gaze as he headed straight toward me.

He stopped right in front of us, and that's when I finally heard the woman's voice.

Up close, she was even prettier.

Brunette. Blue eyes. Dimples.

Something she and Lorenzo apparently had in common. Jealousy, rage, and anger crashed into me all at once, adrenaline coursing through my veins. I grabbed the nearest thing beside me.

A flower vase?

Good enough.

I threw it toward them.

Lorenzo instantly dodged it, but the clueless woman wasn't so lucky. The vase crashed to the floor beside her. And somehow, my anger still wasn't pacified.

“You fucking bastard! How dare you walk in here so boldly with your whore into my house?”

Lorenzo's eyes widened in confusion, as though I'd just accused him of something completely insane. Then, slowly, his confusion cleared, and a grin spread across his face, baring his sparkling white teeth.

His eyes gleamed with something that looked suspiciously like amusement. “Tigress, I promise you, it's not what you think. Julia is only here to help with the kids,” he said, trying to fool me, though I could see the amusement dancing in his eyes.

“Didn't we agree to get the kids a private tutor?”

“That bitch isn't allowed anywhere near my children!” I yelled, my voice cracking with tears. “Maybe you should keep her yourself as a nanny. How about that, you hypocrite?”

Damn it. I didn't want to cry.

Damn fucking pregnancy hormones. Savio and Luca started laughing behind him.

Lorenzo didn't laugh with them, but his eyes were laughing. I knew they were.

I picked up another glass and threw it at him; he dodged it easily.

“Sancia...” he began, stepping closer.

“Don't you dare come anywhere near me, Lorenzo, or I swear I will cut your cheating cock from your body.”

Savio and Luca hollered, practically doubling over as they held their stomachs.

“Now, Sancia, don't make hasty threats, baby.” Lorenzo's lips twitched. “You love my cock, don't you?”

“No, I don't! You lying, cheating bastard.”

“Please calm down, Sia. You shouldn't be getting all angry in your condition,” Tina said.

I glared at her. She looked like she was seconds away from bursting into laughter again.

“You should listen to your cousin, Tesoro,” Lorenzo said calmly. “This is Savio's girlfriend.”

“I don't want to know,” I spat, glaring hard at him, then his words finally registered.

I slowly glanced at Savio. Then at the woman standing beside him, who was now staring at me cautiously.

“What did you say?” I asked, my face heating up with mortification.

“She’s Savio's girlfriend,” Lorenzo repeated, reaching out to take my hands.

This time, I let him. “Then why was she hugging you in the car?” I asked, frowning.

“That was Savio. His shirt was ruined, so I lent him one of the spare ones I keep in the boot.”

“Oh,” I whispered the word sheepishly.

Because now I sounded like a complete psycho. My entire face heated up as everyone around me burst into laughter.

“Hi,” I said with an embarrassed smile. “I promise I'm not a psycho.”

“Yeah, we're not so sure,” Luca said.

I buried my face in Lorenzo's chest, hiding from the shame. I could feel his laughter vibrating through his chest.

I smacked him. “Shut up. You're enjoying this way too much. This is all your fault, you know.”

He pulled back, his hands cupping my face as everything else faded into the background.

His teasing smile softened. “I know, Mia Tigre. Which is why I'm going to show you just how much you mean to me.”

His thumbs brushed gently over my cheeks. “Because in this life, you're everything I want and need in a woman.”

My heart gave an annoying little flutter; I hated when he said things like that when I’m angry.
Mostly because they worked. For one brief second, the embarrassment disappeared, leaving behind the truth I'd been trying so hard to deny all afternoon.

I loved this infuriating man. And the thought of him cheating on me had hurt a hell of a lot more than I wanted to admit. I swallowed hard, refusing to let him see just how much his words had gotten to me.

“Prove it.”

His eyes darkened with a familiar promise. “With pleasure.”

He swept me into his arms and carried me toward our room. My feet barely touched the floor before he was stripping me out of my dress; his lips landed on my neck, kissing with hunger.

“Papa! Momma, where are you?” Fabiona yelled.

“Fuck,” Loreno, growled. And quickly helped me put my dress back on. I sighed and sat on the edge of the bed while Lorenzo stood at the edge guiltily, just as our little four-year-old daughter barged through the door, dragging a teddy that was the same size as her, her face streaked with tears.

I could already guess who could make her upset and cry like this. But I kept quiet and just watched them.

“What is it, Fabi?” he asked patiently. “Who made my little girl cry?”

“It's Dario,” she sobbed. “He says I'm not Pinkie's mommy, that Pinkies is not Oohman.”

“That's not true, baby. Of course she's human, and you're definitely her mommy,” he said, wiping her tears.

“Can you also tell Dario?” she asked. “So he stopped saying that?”

“Of course. Where is he?”

“He's with Yooka, in the gym.”

“To Yooka, we go,” he growled, scooping her into his arms, teddy bear and all,l while she squealed happily. He made aU-turn, kissed me on the lips, and strode out growling.

I smiled, shaking my head. My life couldn't be more perfect, despite the chaos of the mafia world. We'd come back home three years ago after I had Fabiona.

I'd graduated from school and was missing home and my family. So we all parked and came back to a fully renovated Villa Marchetti.

We'd settle into family life, not just the four of us, but the entire famiglia. I ruled beside Lorenzo, contributing in whatever way I could and helping take care of our big family and home.

I'd asked Lorenzo years ago why he chose me, and he'd told me. The only woman who has a right to his life is the woman he chose to marry.

He'd confessed that at first he wanted to get revenge when he found out what I did from the videos Giuseppe gave him, but what he saw also made him fall in love with me.

Because it shows a woman who's strong enough to protect herself and even defend others.

And he only knows half of it. To defend my family and love, there's nothing I wouldn't do.

Because there's nothing more precious to me than him, my villain, our two kids, and a third on the way.

I can say now that I love him more than anything in this world. However, he'll argue that he loves me more.

But in my opinion, we taught each other how to love in our own ways.

Lorenzo taught me that it's harder to die for love than it is to kill for love. He loves, and although I can't understand the depth of his love for me, just like he can't know the depth of mine.

But he'd prove it time and time again.

And although we have our moments as all couples do, what we have is real, and it's beautiful.

The End.
