Chapter 53

NATHANIEL

I cannot believe she said that.

I was sure we were heading into a different direction. I thought she would want to talk. I had to let her go; her power was magnificent but also powerful.

Emily was in tears and wanted to be with her. So did Miles and me too. But Anna told us to let her calm down as she has been through a lot with all the lies, secrets and the hurt. She's in pain with everything.

I know who I blame, George.

I look at everyone and needed to get away.

I walk into the pack house, walking past my mate’s room. I can tell she is in there but her scent is masked. I want to make sure she’s okay and tell her I was not who she thought I was, not anymore.

“Leave her be Nate, She needs to calm down” says Emily from behind.

I look behind her to see her walking hand in hand with Dane.

I smile back at them “I know I just want to know if she’s ok, Em, how are you? I still can’t believe she blamed you” I say and her face says it all, hurt and anger spread across her face.

“My father has a lot to answer for; he not only took her memories away but mine too. I only have had some back and need to know if I was present at any of it” she says, I nod.

I look back at Dane “What are you thinking dude?”

Dane looks taken back at my question “Why are you asking me that? It’s not fair what’s going on but I do think we need to talk to George” he says “He took away their memories for a reason but he won’t give them up without a fight I don’t think.”

I look back at him and look towards my mate’s bedroom door. We all need answers.

“Let’s go to the cells. We all need answers” I said “I think we let Mila calm down and once she has we can give her all the information we get from him.”

They both nod.

“What about Miles and Anna?” asks Emily “We need them to be there too.”

I nod “Both of you go, tell Anna and Miles what we are going to do. I’m also going to have my father come with us too as he will want answers as well” I said.

They nod and leave towards where Miles and Anna were staying. I can’t help but not move for a little while. I look back at the door, I hope she is ok, I sigh.

“She will human, she is our mate” says Ox but I can tell he is anxious about everything too.

I open a mind link to my dad.

“Dad, Mila is back with Archer. She was still angry and upset. We are going to leave her to calm down but we need to interrogate George. We need to know what he knows” I said through the mind link, leaving out everything that Dane, Emily and I were talking about earlier “I think it will help us as a pack and also will help Mila to know more when she calms down.”

“Son, that’s what I’ve been thinking. Meet me at the cells” he says.

“Dane and Emily are going to be there and also bringing Miles and Anna with them. They need answers and not only that, Emily still is missing some of her memories” I say back to him.

“OK son, I will meet you there” he says. We close the mind link down. I look at the door one more time and head back towards the back entrance of the house where the cells are located.

The cells are like an old bombing bunker, it holds up to fifteen cells. I make it to the cells where everyone is waiting for me. I open the door and head down the stairs. The smell of blood fills my nose senses; there is also the smell of death and rotten eggs knowing that rouges were killed here a few months ago.

We walk through the corridor, through the cells on each side and come between the cell where Sybil and George were being held. We all look at them as they are sat on the bench facing us. George has this huge smirk on his face, taking in each of our faces but it fades when he notices Emily “Emily” he says and stands up and walks up to the cell gate but instantly stops when a loud growl escapes Danes mouth “Back off warlock.”

He looks at Emily “Control your mutt” which doesn’t go well with any of us as growls erupt through the cells.

I have a plan and mind linked Dane "I know exactly what we can do, hold George and I’m going to put Sybil in another cell away from him. Emily can talk to her mother while we can do what we want to George” Dane nods.

He opens the door and quickly grabs hold of George with the help from Miles and the guards that keep watch, while I grab Sybil by the arm and move her from the cell. George screaming and trying to get out of the hold of the men’s grasps but it is no use.

I open the cell three doors down and throw Sybil in. I look at Emily and Anna, motioning them to come here “You can interrogate your mother” I say looking at her and I can sense the anger that is coming off her is stronger “It’s ok Nate, do what you have to do” she says and turning back towards her mother who has now backed up against the wall staring at her daughter “I think I need to have a mother and daughter conversation with her.”

“You won’t kill me Emily, I’m your mother” she shrieks.

I can sense Emily’s power coming to the surface, her purple eyes coming through, staring back at her mother “You don’t deserve to be called that with everything that you have done to me and Mila. I want answers and I want them now” Emily says, standing in front of her mother. Anna walks over to her right side, her blue eyes turning white. I instantly sense the power of her dragon coming through “You don’t answer, I will kill you. She won’t but you best know I’m not one to hold back” The voice says sounding heavenly but also has a trace of rage seeping through.

With that I leave the three women to talk and I head back to the cell where George is now chained to the same wall where the bench was but the bench had been placed alongside the cell bars on the other side where my father is sitting, anger written across his face.

Miles and Dane come on either side of me, staring back at the man that caused more harm to everyone that he supposed to have cared about.

He looks back at me, scared. He should be.

“Where’s my wife? Where did you take her?” He shouts.

“You haven’t got the right to those answers and I think Emily and her mother need some mother and daughter bonding. You screwed up big time” I said, I know my words hit him hard and he looks taken back when I mentioned Emily.

“I want to know why you would torture a child for information” I asked “What did you actually do to Mila? Because she just come back more pissed off than ever.”

I want him to think she knows everything even though Mila never told us anything. I did have a sense off Archer that she had her memories back as he had hate in his eyes when he was mind linking Anna.

George looks taken back at what I said “She shouldn’t have had them back, I took them away permanently, you lie” he smirks “You have nothing.”

I look at him but don’t say anything.

Suddenly “You are mistaken warlock, she does, and I had conformation off my friend Anna that she does. Let’s just say this, if you don’t tell us what we want to know or Mila will come down here and will kill you” says Miles “You do realize she has more power now.”

“Her wolf is the most powerful wolf ever created” smirks George “She doesn’t have power herself stupid mutt.”

Miles looks at him but smirks and so do I; he doesn’t know Mila has her own power as we were all affected by it earlier when she threw us away from her with her hand.

“Actually Mila has power as well, not just Sapphire” he says with a slight grin forming on his face “She is as powerful as her wolf.”

George looks taken back “You’re wrong, Mila doesn’t have power. I would know about it.”

“How would you know” asks my father suddenly “She has nothing to do with you anymore?”

George stares at my father but doesn’t answer him. I move closer to him. I really want to hurt him but since he is a warlock and human, I probably would hurt him severely or even kill him.

I’m trying to hold down my anger. I go to say something but I’m cut off suddenly by an elderly woman’s voice “You thought you have more power over that child, son, you are more mistaken.”

I look back to see Gloria standing by the gate, glaring at George.

“I think you best answer these wolves questions now, son” she says as she turns to walk down to the other cell “I’m not going to stop the dragon from killing your wife, after what you did to Emily and poor Mila, you have no heart.”

“You want to help these wolves. Why?” he snarls with venom towards her. But Gloria is looking back at him with anger in her eyes, the same anger as I seen in Emily’s “I’m only helping Mila to get answers. You made her kill her own kind for your own bidding. I’m helping these wolves as you are turning into a dark warlock. You are no better than Yariel himself” she snarls and walks away.

George looks pissed at what his mother just said. All of a sudden we here a high pitched screaming coming from Sybil’s cell. I look towards George who is freaked out “What is going on? I want to know if my wife is ok” he says desperately.

I smirk “I will find out but first you are going to tell me what we need to know, why did you torture Mila?” I shout but another scream comes from the cell again “Tick tok George, your wife won’t last long” I say.

George looks reluctant but “Ok, OK.......I will tell you what I know” he says “I didn’t know Mila was a white wolf when she turned, the only people that knew that were Archer, my mother and Emily. Emily let it slip one night at a family dinner, when Mila wasn’t there. Faith lost all her trust in me when I tried to get her blood when she was pregnant. She stopped me from coming up to the cabin and even hid Mila from me for a time. I made sure she could trust me towards the end. I thought the white wolf had died with her” a loud growl escapes Miles lips but he doesn’t say anything “When Emily told me by accident, I found a spell that would help me control the wolf of Mila’s when I needed to. Mila’s wolf was more powerful than Faith’s. I could sense it. I knew I had to have her but I had to make both of them trust me. I told Emily that Mila’s wolf should come forward so she can sense if she could trust me. The silly little wolf did as she was naive and stupid to know anything” he says smirking.

Ox comes to the surface but doesn’t take over, a growl escapes my lips but I let it as I hate the way hes speaking about Mila and Sapphire. Ox and I are now as one “YOU HUMAN ARE PUSHING YOUR LUCK FOR ME TO KILL YOU” we growl out but in Ox’s voice.
