Chapter 52

MILA

After an hour of just standing on the cliff top, Archer and I decided to make our way back through the short cut way to the pack house. As we reached the bottom, it was quiet and the sun was going down.

“Little dove, you can do this. You will be back, for the pack and also your mate soon, I’m sure of it” Archer says quietly.

“Do you know what the curse is about?” I ask hoping he would know more but he shakes his head “No little dove, Moon Goddess knew people would be after you, I would expect she will come to you before we leave” he says sounding certain.

I was about to open my mouth to say something else when the front door to the pack house opens, everyone is running out towards us. They all look relieved to see me.

“Remember Mila, we are not happy with them” says Sapphire, I can sense she is not happy about the situation but this is how it has to be.

I look at them but I put my most angry face on for them, Emily comes to a complete stop. “Mila, please we didn’t know......” she says but I had to cut her off “I don’t want to know, George used magic and even tortured me to keep me quiet, making me feel like a fool when I woke up the next day, telling me I was clumsy. When all along he and your bitch mother wanted information about something we didn’t even know anything about” I said with a hiss.

Emily looks hurt and has tears streaming down her cheeks “Please I had no clue what was going on” she shouted.

I walk straight passed her until I feel sparks go up my arm by the touch that just reached out to grab my arm to stop me from walking away, I know who it is.

Nathaniel.

I spin around and growl at him “Get off me; go back to your whore or whoever it is you are fucking now.”

The look of hurt spreads across his face. Sapphire has put a block up so that his wolf doesn’t reach out to her. I can tell he is talking to his wolf as he has now got a blank expression on his face “Mila, unblock Sapphire, you both need to talk to us” I shake my head “Hell no manwhore, I’m not. I have had enough of feeling hurt and secrets to last me a lifetime. I don’t want to know anything about you and it is has nothing to do with my wolf.”

I shove his arm off mine “Now leave me alone, I want everyone to stay away from me” I look over to Archer who is trying to hold Miles back.

“I MEAN IT, LEAVE ME ALONE!!” I scream, sending some of my power through my hand as I flick it out too quickly which hurls them all back and they all land on their arses. After a sudden everyone looks at me stunned and shocked.

“I’m warning you now, I’m sick of all this I need you all to leave me alone” I shout and turn on my heel and run straight up the steps to the pack house, straight through the front door till I reached the room I was in last. I open the door and run in, slamming the door shut tight behind me, tears streaming down my face. I slide down the door till my butt hits the floor. I wrap my arms around my knees and cry.

The emotions I have are intense. I can feel my emotions rise which doesn’t help my power one bit.

I can feel Sapphire coming through; I know she can feel the pain. She masks our scent. I know she is in pain. We just hurt the ones we love. Why Moon Goddess? This can’t be right.

“She must have her own reasons why we have to do this on our own” Sapphire says sulky.

I can’t say anything as I know my voice would give too much away to her. Then I remember the photos in my back pocket; I move my one butt cheek off the ground and stick my hand into my back pocket to take them out. I hold them out to stare back at them. I know I’m crying about a lot of things but the picture of my mother and I, makes it whole lot worse. I miss her so much. I know I didn’t have any memories of her but now they are back, all the moments that she talked about the white wolf and how we were special.

I can feel Sapphire come closer to see through my eyes to see what I was looking at; she sits down with her head cocked to one side “She was beautiful Mila.”

I nod in agreement “She was Sapphire, she was amazing. She told me stories about the white wolf. How we were powerful and there was only one in existence. She was honored to be the creation of our Moon Goddess. She thought I would be the same as I looked like her when she was a child.”

Sapphire looks at the other photo and laughs “She knew how to have fun” staring at the picture of Gamma Richard with cake all over his face. I stare back and laugh but I suddenly scan the photo again and realize that there's a figure standing in the background of the photo. I gasp.

“What’s wrong Mila?” says Sapphire. I point to the picture and Sapphire uses her enhance sight to look closer, she growls ‘That’s a witch looking in.”

“How do you know?” I ask not taking my eyes off the woman in the background “How the hell did they not know that she was there in the background?”

Sapphire growls loudly “I think we need Archer to take a look, I think there is more to this story of how he came to us” she says.

We put the block down and Drack knows we want Archer to come to the room, there was a light knock a few minutes later and making sure he wasn’t followed. He comes in but once the door is shut.

Sapphire comes to the surface with me and starts growling.

“Who’s this?” She says snarling at him while he looks at the photo. He takes it but is startled when he looks at it “That was Gamma Richards birthday.......how did you get....” she doesn’t let him finish “Take a good look at the background and tell us what you see” she snarls.

He looks closely and goes white in the face “That can’t be” he says while he loses his balance and sits on the bed. He’s in shock.

“Who is she, Dragon” growls Sapphire, something is up “Tell us”

Archer looks back at us and knows he needs to explain to us, I can feel Drack’s presence he knows we are as one.

“Little dove, I thought she was dead” he says looking back at the photograph “Her name is Aria; she is a dark witch, well a dark sorcerer. She killed the whole of the dragon population back years ago.”

“Why do you think she’s dead?” we ask.

“I killed her, well that is until this photograph. Drack and I killed her in an explosion. She wanted the whole of the dragon family to be her servants and help defeat humans and other super naturals” he stops and looks back at me with tears “little dove, she must have him.”

I look back at him “Why would the Moon Goddess want us to travel across the world to save him? Why?” I shriek at him “This does not make any sense, why would our Moon Goddess want us to do this alone.”

He looks back at me and I can tell he knows “It’s to do with the curse on you and Sapphire, little dove. The curse is you have to save all of the super natural kind which includes mine, if you don’t it will lead to the destruction of all beings as we now it. Moon Goddess creation is to save the whole world, you my little dove, are our future.”

I'm completely stunned.

How am I supposed to save the whole of the supernatural beings?

“Why can’t I tell anyone?” I ask.

But both of us can’t say anything, as a figure appears before us, the stunning woman from earlier, the Moon Goddess, herself. She looks at both of us and smiles “I had to wait till you talked to your guardian first, you both needed to talk” she says “I want you to help find Lucas but on your own but when the time comes, you will have the help of the pack. They are going to be on their own during this war as you both need to leave tonight” she says and with that she goes.

I look back in shock and I know Archer is the same.

“Little dove when everyone is asleep we will leave” he says, he gets ups and walks over to me “We will have their help but we need to do what we need to do first.”

He opens the door and leaves but turns around with a small smile “Pack lightly, also take them photos little dove, they mean more” he says and leaves the room. I shut the door behind him.

“We need to do this Sapphire, all supernatural beings are in danger and we have to save everyone” I say “Also we get to be with our mate once we do.”

She seems a bit happier with that “I hope so Mila, you were a bit hard on him.”

I feel the guilt sweeping in and I know I want to do something. I grab a rucksack and pack the small essentials into it. I place the two photos in the pocket on the side of the rucksack.

I take a piece of paper that has been in the drawer which I noticed a few times, there was a pen too and I write a quick note to Nathaniel. I didn’t say anything about this whole thing but I wanted him to know I will be back but he had to wait.

I needed time.

I hope he will be ok with the whole situation.

I look around the room once more. I place the note on the dresser. I opened the door and leave, making sure I’m being really quiet.

No one is around the pack house, it is completely silent.

I notice Archer by the side of the door and he looks at me with a little grin “I know what you just done little dove, it is the right move. He will understand soon. We need to leave” He hands me his bag and transforms into Drack.

I climb up Drack’s arm and place my legs on either side of his neck while holding onto the horn in front.

“Hold on little one, we have a long way to go. I have masked our scents so they will not know where we are going or heading. Once in a clearing, we will stay in human form and go underground” I nod and with one last look back at the pack house “Let’s go now before anyone realizes we are gone.”

With a swift of Drack’s wings we head up into the sky to go and find their brother.

We have a destiny to uphold.

I just hope everyone knows we didn’t mean what we said to them and when the time comes we will need them.
