Chapter 43 Pinned To the bed
“Can you turn around?” Lilac asked and he raised a brow.
“Why?” he asked cheekily and this infuriated her.
“Forget it,” she said through her teeth and walked out of the bathroom with her towel tied around her body. She walked over to the wardrobe by the wall and took out her clothes from her luggage and returned to the bathroom.
The sight of her in that towel, made Eric'sgaze darken as his breath heated up suddenly.
He picked a Rubik cube from her bedside table and started keeping himself busy. She came out of the bathroom a while after in a modest two piece night wear and walked into the small galley kitchen.
She decided to completely ignore him. Acting as though he was not sitting in the bedroom, she made some noodles and returned to the room. Then she walked out unto the small balcony and sat to have some fresh air. She sat on table and started eating without care.
On the couch, he felt uncomfortable when she ignored him that much. But what could he do? This girl had a temper.
It did not help that he was still in his work clothes. Ignoring the pain on his injury, Eric unbuttoned his shirt and rolled up his sleeves. Only then did he feel a little more.
Lilac soon returned to the room and saw Eric's relaxed state and frowned deeply. She went into the kitchen to wash her bowl. When she was done, she returned to the room and climbed into bed.
“No dinner for me?” he asked. Seeing her completely ignore him, he felt the urge to mess with her.
“I don’t know what you like to eat,” she answered and he raised a brow.
“I like to eat women,” he said and she stiffened, but refused to back down.
“Go ahead then,” she responded in defiance.
“Okay,” he got up from the couch and climbed into bed and Lilac calcified quickly.
Eric was done with her ignoring him. He grabbed her frightened form and dragged her closer to him. Before she could react, he was ontop of her, settling between her legs. Lilac was brave when she had spoken, but when he moved, she almost died inside.
“I don’t mind if I do,” Eric said with a dark smile and she tremble slightly. Seeing the position they were now in, Lilac turned red and tried push him off, but he was too heavy.
“Get off,” she protested.
“But you said I could,” he chuckled darkly.
“I-- I was joking, please get off,” she pleaded. Eric did not want to. For some reason, he wanted to melt into her. He felt comfortable here and did not want to move.
“Why did you show up at the alley where I was injured?” he asked, “It can’t be you have the habit of walking in the dark of night, right?”
She was greatly offended by his words, “I told you that day didn’t I?” she asked with a deep frown. Did she? He could not recall. He raised a brow at this.
“I was not listening,” he said, “Did you?”
She too could not quite recall much of what happened all night. It was a chaotic night. She just did not like the way he had talked or the words that came out of his mouth.
“Then, tell me again. If you explain it well, I will get off you,” he leaned in and promised, his breath harassing her skin.
“I went to confront my parents. A fight broke out and I needed air, so I walked a bit since I did not have a car. If I could go back, I would have not saved you at all,” she explained. And Eric's eyes darkened greatly.
"Do you hate me?" He asked. They stared at Each other for a little over a second.
"You want me to love you?" She asked.
"There was a time you used to," Eric answered.
"Yes, A foolish time indeed, Now let go," Lilac insisted. This time, Eric really let go.
Lilac was not sure how she slept that night, but by the time she opened her eyes the next day, Eric’s strong arm was wrapped tight around her midsection, gluing her back to him in the process. She froze; the complicated situation of the last night made a waltz through her brain. She was from shocked to fear, to confused to terrified. The moment she woke up, Eric knew, but he did not want to let go. He watched freeze, panic, then struggled, before stopping.
“Mr. Black, Mr. Black,” she called, growing frustrated every second he did not seem to wake, “Eric!” she called.
“Was it so hard to call my name?” he asked and let go. Lilac escaped the moment his arm loosened, dashing into the bathroom and returning a minute later to get her clothes. He glanced at the time on his phone and back at her hurried state.
"What is the hurry?" He asked.
"I have a zoom meeting in an hour. You can leave already," she said.
She would be late if they did not leave in twenty minutes. He got up and adjusted his clothes, knotted his tie and wore his shoes. It was not as though he could not wake up early and wake her too, be he was hoping she would wake up late. Truthfully, he was tired from last night and wanted to sleep in longer.
"Are you hoping I will forget you behind or something?" Eric asked then glanced at his phone. "The house has been prepared. You can have your zoom meeting there," he continued.
Lilac hurried out of the bathroom ten minutes later completely dressed. She had to admit he was right. She hurried to dress and pack knowing he would insist on taking her, but still hoped he would forget her.
“Since you did not manage to get your things back., I will send someone to pick up all that you have packed,” Eric said and she paused. She looks at the small luggage she had packed up from last night in his place. She had taken out important things and replaced with daily wear.
“Just everything by the door and nothing else,” she said and he nodded.
She ran around the room for a while, his eyes following her every move. She was dressed in a black pant suit again. He stood by the door and waited for her. Eric was confused. She had a zoom meeting, there was no need to put in this much effort.
Lilac tied her hair up and they left her apartment; from the time she left the bed to when they left the house, barely a word was spoken between them.
They got into the car and drove in silence for a while, before her phone rang again. She picked it up with a frown. As expected, it was her grandmother.
This old lady was absent when she had confronted her parent. Lilac was expecting her call, but not soo soon. This madebher severely irritated.
“Yes?” she answered the call dryly.
“You really have no manners,” the person on the other end said.
“If you have nothing to say, I am going to end the call,” Lilac threatened.
“You are order the police to have your family jailed?” the old woman asked.
