Chapter 149 Farewell
Alessia's POV
The courtyard is filled up with almost all the coven members when we step outside. It seems like the whole world is out here waiting to see our departure. All the high council members are standing in front then the rest of the coven members behind.
Enya is conveniently missing, I smirk it figures she is still feeling upset because of how we twisted her hands to get the information.
Do I regret it? No
Will I do it again in the pursuit of justice? Yes
Alex stands shoulder to shoulder with me ,watching the see of people in front of us carefully, while Luca, Angelica and Lucy are still making their way out of the coven. Orzo stands near Frederic, his expression blank. His eyes move over me briefly, it does not feel hostile but it's like he is assessing me differently now. More like an equal as opposed to before when they treated me as a student.
My eyes flicker to Frederic and I feel something tighten in my chest. He made our stay at the coven almost unbearable with his countless come ons and his glamour trick. The thought of how he kissed me that I'll-fated day with Alex’s face makes my stomach churn with embarrassment . He is one person I look forward to not seeing in a while.
Melissa is standing by Frederic and she gives me a sharp nod. I never had a problem with her but I always felt like she kind of fancied Fredeeic and felt like I was unworthy of his attention. I give her a small smile now Inwardly I am thinking now that I am leaving he is all yours Meliisa. I can't say it out loud for fear of embarrasilsing her but I hope she knows this is me stepping away from him.

Thano’s arms are crossed around his flat belly as if he is bored and can't wait to get this over with. Indie leans over Thano whispering something into his ears he turns to look at me and smirks. Indie is one of those that I can't quiet figure out.
She was fair enough during our lesson but always stands with the coven without question no matter what comes up. I guess she is loyal to Enya I shrug I dont need her loyalty I have all the loyalty I need standing beside me as if on cue the rest all
Walk up until we are standing level. Then Alex turns to me giving me his devilish may care smile that makes me swoon
“Are you ready Cara mia?” I nod at him holding on to his arm
“Yes Alex” I whisper
We turn around and walk off the steps of the coven together.
Our steps are almost synchronised
As if we planned it but we didn't
As we reach the last step a path is created for us to procede through. As usual the coven members are murmuring softly. Some words of encouragement, some words of respect, some are curious, some are wary. I dont address any one of them. We dont stop until we reach the wide clearing in the center of the courtyard.
No one says a word for a few minutes then Orzo walks forward
“Are you heading straight for your destination?” He asks
I nod “with a brief stop for supplies on the way.”
“When will you return?” He asks bluntly and I stare at him second time I am being asked that today
I am tempted to say, What's the obsession with our return? But instead I give him a wary look “I can't say exactly because I dont know” I answer evenly
I dont owe them any explanation and I refuse to give a specific time frame.
Frederic walks up to join him his hands clasped in the back
“You Molanos always live to your own set of rules” He says smoothly “You can't change your nature.”
Alex exhales sharply as he stiffens beside me, emboldened by my silence Frederic eyes caress my face slowly
“You dont look like the Alessia that walked in here a few weeks ago” he continues as if he can't sense Alex’s rising ire.
“You seem stronger more self assured, it suits you.”
Ah he must always flirt, he just can't help it. He must always try and make it seem like he used to own me.
Alex takes half a step forward, Luca’s hand reaches for Alex immediately holding on to his bicep so he does not go further.

Frederic smiles “Be careful out there” he says lightly “La Genenva are cruel, Make sure your Glamour is on point.”
“Oh I am aware” I reply coldly killing 12 people because they wanted to enter your territory is not only cruel ,It's merciless.
His gaze falls on me again “You always seem to be”
Frederic leans forward lowering his voice so only I can hear. “Princess if you ever change your mind” he says “This coven- LaCasa will forever me your home it's doors and mine will remain open.”
Shock renders me speechless for a moment
Will this Man never give up?
Alex steps In front of me fully this time yanking his hand from Lucas loose grip
“I dont want to hear you speak to her like that again” He says his voice dripping with danger
The entire courtyard stills as every pair of eyes is trained on us.

Frederic is such an ass !
Frederic lets out a mock laugh raising his hands in a gesture of mock surrender “Alex ,relax I mean no disrespect.”
“That's not true, why did you mention doors always being open then?”Alex retorts
Frederic scoffs undeterred “I am speaking from a family friend's point of view.”
I scoff Family friend my ass…
“You dont need to speak from any point of view,” Alex adds
The air is ripe with unsaid words and tension
Power seems to be stirring from who in particular I can't tell. I look around quickly but they all seem to be relaxed but I can feel a power source surging .Who is it ?
